He's The Unaffordable
Chapter 85 - Just Through Death

Vivaldo and Nora. I hate them both. First, they have ruined Papa and Mama's marriage. I heard from my own parents, as well as from Om Zach, both grandfathers, and my grandmother how Papa and Mama got up and repaired their broken relationship. They were also the cause of my sister before Adi was never born into the world.

Now they're interfering with the relationship I and Colin have had since we were kids. I don't know what they want with our breakup. All I know is that I'm the son of Papa and Mama, two people they've disrupted. I didn't expect that they had any other plans after our relationship broke up.

Jordanian. If Colin was right about Jordan meeting Vivaldo and Nora, what do they want from me? After I was alone again, Jordan was very aggressive in approaching me. But what's in it for them if I accept Jordan to be my girlfriend?

“So, Jordan approached you and has twice asked you to be his girlfriend?” Colin rubbed his chin while nodding slowly. “So. After you and I broke up, they've prepared men to replace me. But why?”

“And what does this have to do with Papa and Mama? Vivaldo confesses his love to Mama after Mama marries Papa. She never let Mama live a quiet life when they met again. Nora had the support of Naava's grandmother to be Papa's wife when my parents divorced. I don't know if he really loves Papa or just wants his fortune. Then what does all this have to do with me?” many confused.

“Why are you and not Hadi or Adi?” ask Colin to add.

“You're right.” I nodded slowly. “We will not get the answer if we just think this way. We have to do something.”

“Following Jordan is the best way I can think of. But I wouldn't be able to be around him if he and the two men were to meet. So, I won't be able to eavesdrop on their conversation. Asking directly at Vivaldo and Nora is also not a wise path.”

“Only one way.” I flicked my finger.

Colin looked at me intently. “No.” I nodded quickly. “No. I don't allow you to do that.”

“Why not? You're not my boyfriend, my brother, or my parents. Why should I hear what you say?” many objection. “What can he do to me if I become his girlfriend? He won't be able to hurt me in public.”

Colin overreacted to my plan. He complained to Mama and Kak Hadi when we got to my house. They had teased him jealous because there was another man approaching me. But that happy face soon disappeared from their faces when Colin mentioned the names Vivaldo and Nora.

She shared that when she met the two after we officially broke up, there was another young man they met. That man is Jordan. So, he concluded that the young man approached me not because he was sincere with his feelings, but rather that there was a shrimp behind the stone.

“I don't agree you're his girlfriend. That's not how you deal with bad guys, Dira.” Sis looked at me seriously. “Let Papa and Om Irwan take care of this problem. We have lost enough because of the actions of the two men.”

“Why can't they let Hendra and I live peacefully? Do they think that love can be forced? Then when their plan fails, they decide to destroy our children's lives? I don't get it. How to make them stop?” mama said slowly.

“Perhaps only death can make them stop, Ma,” Brother said heartlessly.

“Hadi, we will not dirty our hands with their blood!” peekik Mama surprised.

“I didn't say we killed them. I just told Mama that it was the only thing that could make them stop. Because prison doesn't make them deterred,” Brother said.

“ Anyway, we have to wait for instructions from Papa. I don't want us to take any decisions rashly.” Mom looked at me seriously. “That includes keeping a distance with that guy named Jordan. Everyone who has anything to do with Vivaldo is a bad guy. You better never be alone with him. Make sure Charlotte and Wendy are always around you. Do you understand? If you are reckless, you better not join the event tomorrow.”

“Iya, Mother. Ja. I promise I won't be anywhere near Jordan.” I immediately agreed to Mama's words because I didn't want to miss the last show at school.

“I will contact Wyatt and ask him to look after Dira as well as his two friends. Because it was a school event, others would not be allowed to enter. Even if that person is a big brother or parent of a student.” Hadi stood up while carrying his cell phone. He approached the window and spoke to Wyatt. Their attitude is excessive.

But he ignored me because Mama asked him something about the game he was playing. From their conversation, it seems like Mama is working on her new book project. It's kind of weird to hear you're interested in what kids play today. His books generally deal with the lives of romance, marriage, or family. Just this time Mama was interested in topics beyond that.

Mama listened to Colin's explanation with a face full of admiration. Mom would laugh with him every now and then, or her hands would touch Colin's arms. I don't know why I'm not comfortable seeing the interaction between them. Since there was nothing else we needed to discuss, I paid my way to the room.

At exactly seven in the morning, Charlotte and Wendy arrived at my house. We agreed to order the services of a team of makeup artists to help us apply makeup and do our hair. Although we do not intend to attract anyone, we want to perform perfectly on the show. To carry out my plan, I deliberately wore a black dress.

The school hall was drastically changed with the stage at the front. There was a famous band that was performing entertaining us all who came into the room. A special place is provided for students who want to stand closer to the stage to enjoy the performance.

All the girls' students performed perfectly with their dresses, makeup, and hairdressing that differed from their appearance at the time of study. The men's students also do not want to lose with suits, batik clothes, and other styles of dress according to their taste.

Jordan appears neat with a black suit and a dark blue tie. He welcomed me with pleasure because we looked well-matched. I refused as she intended to hold my hand. So, we walked side by side looking for an empty seat.

The students who saw our arrival cheered in support. Jordan smiled happily at all of them, while I just smiled as if. It was as if we were lovers. I turned towards Charlotte and Wendy who were just laughing amusedly.

We sat on the same bench. Jordan sat at the corner, and then I sat by his side. Charlotte was sitting next to me, while Wendy was next to her so she and Wyatt weren't sitting side by side. Jordan tried to hold my hand again which I immediately refused.

What's wrong with her? He's never been that sassy before. Does she think that I have feelings for her because I'm wearing clothes that are the same color she chose?

The headmaster opened the event with a long speech that almost put us all to sleep. After the Chairman of the OSIS gave us a word of welcome and represented us all to thank the teacher who has been teaching us for three years, the serious event was over.

Next there are performances from the school theater, a school band that is quite known locally, as well as poetry readings. Food and drinks were distributed during the entertainment event. We didn't talk much to enjoy the show. But Jordan didn't understand my signals and didn't stop expressing his opinion on every performance on stage.

“I need to go to the toilet. Do you want to come too?” I asked Charlotte and Wendy. They immediately agreed as if they were waiting for one of us to say that. I gave Wyatt my drinks and food. Also ask him to keep our bags.

“Oh, God. I couldn't stand sitting next to him any longer.” I grumbled softly as we were already outside the hall. “He didn't stop talking or try to hold my hand.”

“What? Why does he hold your hand? If he does that again, pinch his hand hard. Let him know taste.” Charlotte put her index finger in front of her lips as we were about to enter the toilet. We thought because other students could hear my complaints. I don't want to look for a storm on the last day we got together at school.

As we were about to return to the hall, I felt a little dizzy. So, I decided to ask the committee for warm water to stand guard at the serving table. Charlotte and Wendy take a drink for them, while Charlotte brings one more glass for Wyatt.

“You just sit. I'm still dizzy, so I'll ask for one more glass of warm water.” I don't feel good to see my two best friends just standing next to me looking up at the stage.

“You sure?” ask Charlotte. I nodded quickly. “Good. Return immediately after drinking. As I recall, I brought medicine for dizziness. You will drink only that.”

“Oke.” I approached the table, and they returned to our seats.

I drank another glass of warm water, but could not reduce my hunger. Bizarrely. I didn't lack rest or eat anything unhealthy today. Why does my head hurt? I yawned slowly. And now I'm sleepy?

“Dira, are you okay?” asked Jordan who was standing near me. When did he come out of his seat and stand here? But I couldn't answer that question because everything was suddenly dark.
