~Hadi~
Adi has been looking moody since morning. We were at Grandpa and Grandma's house, Papa's parents, for lunch together. But seeing him laughing and talking not as enthusiastically as usual, I knew that something was wrong.
When our family came out of the dining room, I approached him who was lazily standing from his seat. The servants who work at Grandpa's house are people we can trust. We never worried in the slightest that our conversation they heard would be leaked to outsiders.
“What's up?” I sat in the chair next to him. “Since you stayed longer at the jewelry store last night, something has bothered your mind. Did you see anything suspicious?”
He breathed slowly. “Pairs who cross paths with us when we go out, do you remember them?” tanyakanya. I nodded slowly. Clarissa said something about the way she looked at me, so I remembered. “The guy's girlfriend Diah.”
“Your wife is in the game,” I confirm. I remember hearing Diah's name, but I wasn't sure which woman he meant. He's nodding. “Then what makes you nervous like this?”
“Kak, the woman held the man's hand tightly. They're standing too close. I'm sure Big Brother won't be comfortable seeing Colin walk that close to another girl while she's still in a relationship with Kak Dira,” he said a little annoyed.
“Colin goes that close to Lily. Could be that woman is his sister.”
“I accidentally photographed them and recorded a few seconds for me to send to Diah. That woman was a good friend of her boyfriend, sister. Can you imagine that? Which guy walks that close to his girlfriend and goes alone to the jewelry store? Diah doesn't believe me and she thinks that they're picking jewelry for her.” Adi grunted annoyedly.
“Adi, can I ask you about something very personal?” ask me in a quiet voice so that no one hears but him.
“Of course. Brother want to ask what?” said quick.
“Do you like this woman? Do you like Diah?” tanyaku.
“Of course. She is a good woman, hardworking, very dear to her family, and Big Brother has seen for himself, she is beautiful,” she replied without hesitation.
“You like her as a girl or a friend?”
“Son, I'm not a kid anymore. I'm a teenager who knows what it's like in the opposite sex. Brother don't worry, I know that I'm still a kid and it's not time to date yet. But I can't deny my own feelings. She already has a boyfriend and they're getting married. Let's just say she's the first love I won't be able to have.”
“My sister is indeed a real man.” I patted her back with pride. “Let her and her boyfriend go about their relationship without intervention. You better keep your distance and not interfere, Adi. Women are very sensitive and if they know you have special feelings for them, their relationship will be damaged.
“If the man cheated, Diah would know. As I said, the instincts of the woman are very good. So stop thinking about her and her boyfriend. We visit Grandpa and Grandma for fun, not grieving.” I stood up and invited him back to join our family.
Our family was chatting on the side porch. Grandma was telling me about symptoms that might be a sign of the emergence of cancer again. He is a cancer survivor. It's been a dozen years Grandma was declared clean of cancer cells. During that time Grandma also keeps her lifestyle healthy.
Although the percentage of cancer passed on to the next generation is very small, Grandma asked us to maintain a healthy lifestyle. That is why we always exercise every morning and as much as possible avoid eating food outside the home. I ended up changing my own life habits because I was too embarrassed to bring supplies to campus.
But after Clarissa and I got engaged, I decided to take good care of my health. I don't want to get sick and trouble my wife and son. Papa rarely gets sick, unless he has solid activities that make him unable to eat and get enough rest. So, I imitated her way of maintaining health.
“So, when will you marry this girl named Clarissa, Hadi?” ask Grandma to change the subject. I just laughed to answer it.
As Uncle Mason and Aunt Claudia will be returning to America next Sunday, Wyatt and Charlotte's engagement is scheduled for Saturday. My mother and grandmother were busy preparing for the event. As a girl who does love attention, Charlotte seems happy and never forgets to share with Dira.
They talk on the phone almost every hour discussing for some reason. Adi and I can only look at each other every time Charlotte calls when Dira is with us. But I was happy to see Dira busy with various activities. Because all of those things could help him quickly recover from his broken heart.
Papa asked me to focus on the studies and research I was going to do, then I didn't come to his office on the day I didn't have a lecture schedule. I'd rather be on campus to be home with Clarissa. With Finley still roaming around freely, I can't let my own fiancee in her college.
“Do you think we need to give a special gift to Charlotte and Wyatt on their big day?” clarissa asked as we were on our way to her house.
“Ng, our engagement event was held suddenly, so it's only natural that no one gave anything as a congratulation. But they are different. Everyone prepared this event well and I felt bad not bringing anything to my sister and her boyfriend,” he said giving an explanation that was actually unnecessary.
“As far as you are. I can accompany you looking for gifts at the mall or if you want to buy online, I will help you choose suitable items.”
When we arrived at his house, a waiter helped open the car door for him. I handed over my car keys to move to the garage. I took her hand, and we entered the house that was greeted by the butler.
We heard chatter from the living room whose door was left open. It seems like both of her grandmothers were chatting with Charlotte and Wyatt. Tomorrow is their engagement day, maybe they are discussing the final preparations.
“I'm home,” exclaims Clarissa from the doorway. They all looked towards us. “Sorry, I didn't mean to cut your conversation. Hadi and I will discuss something in my room. So, if you need me, just call.”
“OK, darling. How was that on campus? Everything okay?” ask Aunt Lindsey.
“Good, Grandma. I'll tell you everything later. We're upstairs now, yeah.” Clarissa immediately took me out of the room before anyone asked again.
The state of his room was exactly as he told me. The bed, the colors that dominated the walls, the curtains, and the furniture, were all exactly as he said. Blue, my favorite color. Maybe I like it because I look into the eyes of the little girl whose picture is in my room every day.
He let me sit on one of the couches, and then took a tablet that was on the nightstand. He sat by my side and gave the thing to me, asking me to install an app for online shopping.
A waiter came to deliver drinks and food as snacks for us as we waited for the app to be installed. I asked her to come in using her email and we started looking around for items suitable to give to young couples.
“Wyatt seems to like the clock. How about we just give them a couple hours?” I suggested when he hadn't made a choice.
“OK. That's a great idea.” He chose the clock part and there were so many options that appeared on the screen. “Ah, I've seen Wyatt wear a watch like this. Do you think he'll like the clock of this brand?”
“Rissa, you need to see the price.” I pointed to a fairly large number listed at the bottom of the photo of the clock he was referring to.
“Price is not a problem. I have enough money to buy this watch.” He chose the pair's clock, then followed the purchase instructions, and confirmed it.
“Don't forget, you have to provide enough money for our holiday event later.” I took a cup of tea and sipped the contents.
“I won't lose to you, Hadi. You have to make sure that you have enough money for our vacation later. Don't forget, Charlotte and Wyatt are definitely coming too.” He took out his teacup, then suddenly shrieked in pain. “Ah, tabletku.”
The cup he was holding slipped out of his hand so that its contents spilled onto the table. I tried to save the tablet. It turned out that we were grabbing the same thing and our heads stumbled. We are constantly complaining of pain. He was the first to laugh, so I laughed with him.
I gave that thing to him. When he looked at me, I did the same. I didn't realize our faces were so close. My heart was pounding faster looking at her beautiful blue eyes. As she closed her eyes, I felt so lost that I touched her cheeks, hoping that she would reopen her eyes.
He fulfilled a request I didn't say and my heartbeat grew wild. Why is my heart beating so fast? Why do I like touching her skin? Could I have started falling in love with her?

Meanwhile behind door~
Lindsey and Claudia pressed their ears against the door leaf. But all they heard was a whisper they could not understand. They exchanged glances with frowns.
“Did you hear something? What are they doing?” claudia asked half a whisper, curious.
“It looks like they are just talking, but have no idea what to discuss.” Lindsey shrugged her shoulders. He stuck his ears closer, still only a whisper could be heard.
“They were in a hurry to get into the room, wasn't that very suspicious? You know, ‘kan, like a couple who can't wait to be alone.” Claudia laughed amusedly.
“Claudia! Watch your talk! My grandchildren won't do that before they get married.” Lindsey kept her voice out as quietly as possible.
“I don't mind having a great-grandchild before I die,” Claudia said casually.
“Grandma? A grandma? What are you doing in front of Clarissa's room?” charlotte was surprised. Lindsey and Claudia simultaneously put their persuasions in front of their lips, hinting that the girl would not speak too loudly. Intrigued by what her two grandmothers did, Charlotte stuck her ear to the door.
