The classroom was filled with red ribbons and there was a banner on the back wall. There's one sentence written there. “Please, forgive me, Dira.” Jordan stood in the middle of the room holding a bouquet of red roses. He was the only one in the class.
The students who were outside the class cheered as Jordan walked over to me. Wyatt immediately stood in front of me, protecting me from Jordan. I rolled my eyeballs looking at his silly attitude. Jordan wouldn't dare hurt me with so many witnesses.
“Dira, I made a big mistake yesterday. Please, forgive me,” Jordan said with a face. “I still want to be your best friend, please, don't be mad at me anymore.”
“I'm not mad at you. What happened yesterday I also forgot,” reply me.
She smiles. “We're still friends?” He handed the bouquet to me. There were cheers from people outside the class.
“Of course.” I looked at the flower. “But I can't accept this flower. You better give it to your mother or brother.”
“This is an expression of my apology, Dira. No other means,” said Jordan persuaded. The students gave their support by exclaiming that I should receive the bouquet.
“I've forgiven you, so you don't have to give me anything. Thank you,” I said firmly. I don't want to ask a lot of questions from my family when they see me coming home with a bouquet of flowers. Enough of the love letter boxes that I once brought home and made Brother have to intervene to stop the joke.
“Good. I'm glad we're still friends.” Jordan smiled happily.
“You better clean up the class before the exam supervisor comes. I'm sure he won't like seeing all these decorations.” Charlotte floated her hands showing the ribbons adorning the class and the banners on the back wall.
He pulled my hand to sit in our chair. The other students who were one room with us entered the classroom and sat in their respective places. Some of them helped Jordan clean the classroom. Wendy stood in the doorway and stared at me in confusion. Charlotte and I laughed at her.
Charlotte invited him in. My best friend had just come intending to go to his class, but was blocked by the crowd of students in our classroom corridor. Of course Charlotte excitedly told me what happened. I put my stationery on the table, then deactivated the phone. But a message again caught my attention. From Colin with the same message.
When the three days of the exam ended, we all cheered happily as soon as the supervisor walked out of the classroom. The other class was also heard doing the same happy scream. I hugged Charlotte and we walked out of class. Wendy immediately ran after us. Jordan who called my name just I ignored it. There are more important things we need to do right away.
On Saturday there will be a farewell event for third graders. We wanted to buy a dress that was suitable for us to wear that night. Charlotte and I agreed to pay for whatever dress Wendy chose. We don't want to be perfect and he doesn't.
“Wyatt, you don't need to come with us. You better go home with my car.” Charlotte drove the young man away as we stood on the side of my car.
“I also need new clothes, honey.” Wyatt was leisurely sitting in the front seat after Pak Sakti opened the door for him. Charlotte could only growl in annoyance.
“Come, Charlotte. Isn't the more crowded the better?” the bujukku. Wendy came in first, and so did I. He was still standing at the side of the open door. Sakti had to wait until he sat down. He sighed loudly, then got into the car.
“I can't believe you followed me wherever I went. We live together, can't I be a few hours somewhere without you?” complained Charlotte.
“We go to the same school, have the same friends, of course we will be together often. After all you can use me to bring your groceries,” said Wyatt offering his services.
“Do you think we're weak women who can't carry our own shopping bags?” charlotte said offended. “Even as long as we are together, I never ask you to bring my things. I can take him myself. You don't have to come with us.”
Already used to seeing them fight, Wendy and I ignored them and focused on our respective phones. There was no other message from Colin after the message he sent this morning before the exam began. Why am I even thinking about the message from that stupid young man?
Arriving at a nearby mall, we decided to have lunch first. Wyatt just opened his school uniform shirt, and he doesn't look like an SMU kid. Me and my two best friends had to go to the toilet to change clothes.
“We'd better go to a Japanese restaurant because I'd love to eat hot noodles.” Charlotte looked at the restaurants around us.
“I want to eat a burger. Don't worry, I'll treat you if you want to eat with me.” Wyatt pointed to a typical American restaurant near us.
“Burger also can.” Charlotte immediately agreed without considering it first. “What's up? You know that I will not refuse free food. The burgers at this restaurant are delicious. Although the size is not as big as a burger in America, it can be pitted.”
Charlotte walked over first, leaving me and Wendy who shook her head slowly to look at her behavior. How can Wyatt get away from her if she keeps giving off such a confusing signal? Sometimes he wanted to, other times he turned down his ex's offer.
We chose food through the big screen television behind the cashier. Then we looked for an empty seat and let Wyatt pay for our order. After putting the tray containing the food and drinks we bought, we took turns towards the sink.
Me and Wendy sat side by side until Charlotte had to sit next to Wyatt. But he did not mind our sitting position. He even did his usual thing while he and Wyatt were still together. He knew where his food and drinks were by putting the young man's part in front of him, even still remembering what seasonings he usually added to his burger.
The three of us exchanged meaningful looks. Only Charlotte didn't realize that we were watching her movements. His habit when he was already engrossed himself with his favorite food.
I know that Wyatt's actions are unforgivable and I understand that he hates him. But I'd be happier if he was happy. Charlotte can say no more love with her mouth. But he still loves his ex. Because if she didn't love him anymore, she wouldn't feel any emotion in Wyatt. Not angry either.
“Wah, I never expected there to be so many great dress options in this boutique.” Charlotte stared in amazement at every dress that was around her. “I have to take Clarissa to this place someday. She needs some nice dresses to attend some important events ahead.” He walked so fast that I decided not to follow him again.
“Amportant way forward?” aska I want to know.
“Grandma and Grandma often meet the invitation of their relatives or friends. Sometimes they invite me to come along, so Grandma always provides a lot of official clothes for me. They already have two options, so they could invite Clarissa to attend a certain event and not just bring me.” She took out a dress and placed it in front of her body. “What do you think?”
“Whatever you wear, perfect.” I gave my thumb to him.
“Wah, Charlotte. Why don't you just be a model like Dira? You are equally suitable to wear any clothes,” said Wendy who was fascinated to see our friend.
“As long as Clarissa has not been found, I have two heavy loads on my shoulders. Preparing to replace Grandpa and Grandpa. They both had only one child and were dead, so their successors were only their grandchildren.” Charlotte's serious face turned cheerful. “But the load has been lifted. I just need to wait for Clarissa to choose to lead Grandpa or Grandpa's company. I'm willing to work anywhere.”
“You sure you won't choose to work in America? You can meet Wyatt there. Clarissa couldn't have chosen Uncle Mason. She would have preferred it here, near my sister.” I smiled meaningfully.
“I have no interest in being near that traitor. If I work there later, it's because I'm used to going with Grandpa to see his business colleagues. So, I'm more suited to continue his efforts.” Charlotte put on a mocking facial expression as she looked towards Wyatt.
“Let go of this dress, stupid!” I heard the screams of someone I knew very well. I looked behind me. Wendy was holding a very beautiful red dress and another girl was holding the other end of the dress.
I just got off the big test that determines the future of my education. I think I can take a moment off the problem and breathe a sigh of relief. It turned out that the same day, I was faced with a more complicated and dramatic test of life.
