He's The Unaffordable

He's The Unaffordable
Chapter 52 - Enough

“Sorry, we are in a hurry,” Hadi let go of my hand, then put his hand on my lower back. He led me away from the girl.

I still got to see the girl's face as we walked past her. If he looks very angry with me, he acts the opposite to Hadi. She looked at him expectantly, full ... love? Is that why the girl looks angry at me? Does he like Hadi?

Why am I even surprised? Of course there are many women who like Hadi. He is handsome, tall and athletic, intelligent, and who makes anyone unable to resist his charm, he comes from a distinguished and wealthy family.

“What's up, Brother? Who is he?” tanya Dira looked towards the girl who had greeted Hadi. She and Charlotte seemed unhappy with what they were witnessing.

“Nothing. Where are you going again?” He raised his left hand to look at his watch, then took my hand back. “Not yet for dinner.”

“Company me and Wyatt choose our engagement ring!” exciting Charlotte. He held Dira's hand which was screaming enthusiastically. They walked quickly in front of us.

“I will apply, why Dira invited to choose the ring?” ask Wyatt in surprise. The three of us laughed when we heard it.

Charlotte took us to a jewelry store that seemed to be selling expensive items. I saw rows of necklaces, bracelets, earrings, even an attractively arranged ring made of some precious materials. Diamonds dominate gemstones that are paired on every type of jewelry available.

I never use real jewelry, only trinkets that I think are enough to support my appearance. After all I have no special place to store this expensive and precious thing.

“Is there anything you like?” ask Hadi who is still standing by my side. “I have enough money to buy you any jewelry you want. Or do you want an engagement ring too?”

“No. This bracelet is enough.” I touched the thing and calmly watched it still encircle my hand. “Isn't our official engagement going to be held in the middle of this year? I'm sure we'll exchange rings on that day. And it only happened ‘kalau’ I want to marry you.”

He just laughed and said nothing to respond to my sentence. Charlotte called me and showed me the ring they chose. Wyatt nodded his head stating that he also liked my sister's choice. The ring was made of diamond-encrusted titanium metal. It's exquisite.

After Wyatt paid for the ring, we walked out of the jewelry store. We ran into a couple when we were going out. They shifted to give us a way first. Wyatt thanked her and walked out with Charlotte. I saw that woman did not take her eyes off my sister's lover.

Shamelessly, he also did the same to Hadi. He looked at her face and tried to attract her attention by playing her hair. I imitate Charlotte and Dira's style whenever they think someone is doing something silly. Twisting my eyeball.

“Jealous?” ask Hadi. I turned my head and saw he was looking ahead, but I knew the question was directed at me.

“Jealous?” I laughed mockingly. “No. I was just surprised to see the woman's blatant attitude. He took his girlfriend, but still had time to tease another man.”

Hadi stopped his steps, I stopped. He looked back, and so did I. Dira and Adi who were supposed to be walking behind us were still near the jewelry store. Dira is seen dancing around his sister's clothes, but the young man is busy with his cell phone.

“What's with them? What is Adi doing there?” many wonder.

“What's up? Why are you stopping here?” ask Charlotte who came near us. He looked in the direction we saw. “What did Dira and Adi do there?”

“It looks like Adi is recording something or someone. Let me call them.” Wyatt offers himself up, but Hadi immediately holds him back.

“We wait a minute. They'll be coming after us soon.” Just a few seconds after he finished his sentence, his two younger siblings walked towards us.

When they were near us, I could see Adi's face was red. It seemed like there was something in the store that made him angry or disappointed. But he did not answer when Hadi asked what the problem was. Maybe he won't answer because we're here.

For dinner, Dira chose one of the restaurants that sell Japanese noodles. I do not know how to choose the menu, so I let Hadi determine the food for me. In addition to buying a bowl of noodles, he also added some snacks as an additional menu. I'm not sure I'll be able to finish all that food, but there's someone who will help.

“Everything above your tub is Brother's favorite food. He deliberately did that so he could eat it if you don't like it,” Dira said while paying for all our meals.

After dinner, we drove Hadi and his sisters home. He kissed me on the cheek before getting out of the car at the urging of our sisters. I need to talk to Charlotte alone. I understood he wanted to help so that Hadi and I could get closer, but forcing the young man to do things he didn't want was not a good thing.

Both my grandparents and I welcomed our return. They asked us what we were doing outside the house. Charlotte told me everything without missing a single event. Grandpa and Grandpa looked worried when they found out I had lost my bracelet.

Seeing them exchanging glances, I'm sure they're thinking of other ways they should take to protect me. Finley Taylor is just one man, it should be easy for us to fight him. Just because we have no evidence, we cannot report his crimes to the police.

Grandma said goodbye first and said good night, so we also went to our rooms. The whole day outside the house was quite tiring, what else we laughed a lot while discussing the movies we watched.

After a long day of not checking my phone, I noticed some new messages in my inbox. One of them is Sigit. He's never been this aggressive about giving me a job. I've been asking for a three-month suspension, he's still sending me the same message.

Tens of millions of dollars are no longer attractive to me. I've found my family, so I don't need money to find them abroad. It's time for me to break off my working relationship with Sigit. I replied with a thank you and goodbye.

I wasn't surprised when moments later my phone vibrated and her name graced the screen. “Halo, Sigit,” say as polite as possible.

“What does your message mean, Mila? You won't accept clients anymore?” tanyanya's confused.

“Iya. I am grateful for our cooperation so far. From now on, I will focus on my studies, then find a job that can support my life in the future. So, this will be our last conversation.”

“Mila,” said she was trying to change my mind.

“You can't keep sending me messages that I won't follow up on, Sigit. Our relationship is only limited to work, so we do not need to communicate in any form anymore in the future. Please, respect my decision,” I said in a serious tone.

“Good. I'm just trying to help you. If you no longer need extra money for your tuition, I will not force,” reply relented. “I also thank you for helping my nephew. Good bye, Mila. Take care of yourself.”

I exhaled a long breath, relieved that I was finally able to escape from that uneasy job. After the incident with the last client at the mall, I don't like my job anymore. Sigit broke the agreement between us. He has never wrongly chosen a client and they are always courteous. They used their eyes to strip me, it's none of my business. But when they touch as they please, it's a grave offense. I'm not a comfort woman.

The door to my room was knocked, I let her in. Charlotte opened the door and bent her head with a smile adorning her face. “Can I sleep here with you?”

“Of course,” answered me quickly. I put my phone back on the nightstand.

She cheered happily, then jumped onto my bed. “This is the thing I always wanted to do! Sleeping with my sister!” She lifted the blanket, covered her legs with that thick cloth, and sat by my side. “What are you new to call with Hadi?”

“Charlotte ...,” protest me slowly. “We need to talk about your attitude towards Hadi. I do not want you, nor Dira, to dictate that she do what she can and cannot do to me. Would you like me to do the same to Wyatt?”

“You don't know Hadi. He was a stiff man and had never dated before. So, Dira and I agreed to help her little by little. Don't worry, I won't ask him to do things that make you uncomfortable.”

“I said, no,” I said firmly.

“But, Clarissa ...,” whining. I put on a serious face. “Alright, well, I won't do that again.” He put on a sullen face, then he came back cheerful. “I'm curious about one thing. What were you doing when you disappeared earlier? Did Hadi really not kiss you? Because your face flushed red when he said that.

“Well, your face flushed again. Answer me, Clarissa. Did he kiss you? In which part? A cheek? A forehead? Lips?” his tanning bombarded me.

The door of the room opened, Charlotte and I simultaneously looked in that direction. Grandma and Grandma were standing in the doorway of my room. I groaned to see there were two more people I had to deal with. “What we heard is true? You and Hadi kiss, Clarissa?”
