He's The Unaffordable
Chapter 81 - Proof of Seriousness

For a gamer like me, every character I have is worth it. Although I have more than five characters from different online games, I keep all five like my own children. Once they were born, I gave them names, traits in their physique, suitable jobs, even helping them grow from being a nobody to being a strong character.

Therefore, whenever I had to take them off by selling them to the highest bidder, I felt the weight of giving them to the new owner. Sometimes I stalk and see the development of my old character. Some are treated well by their new owners, some are wasted.

Although I like to play online games, I never forget the time. Dad and Mama know that. It's not the amount of money I make from playing that makes them allow me to do my hobby. But the success I played without becoming addicted. Although my learning performance is not as good as Hadi, the results are quite satisfactory.

“This is the proof, Ma.” I put my phone on the table, right in front of Mama. So we could talk without Lily interrupting us, Mama asked me to stop by a cafe.

“Wow. It's a lot of money.” Mama was amazed to read the proof of payment I received from the four online game characters I sold.

There were only two characters from the same game that Mama allowed me to keep playing. I'm keeping one main character that I've been playing for a long time and won't be selling anytime soon. Another one is the supporting character who accompanies my main character adventure in the game world.

What I will do to win Dira's heart again takes time and dedication. That's why, Mama asked me to take off most of my game characters. That way, I can focus on my plan and my attention is not easily distracted.

“You can buy a house and a car with the money you have from selling the characters you have played so far. Even more money you can use to meet daily needs. It is only fitting that more and more people like to play the game.” My mom gave me my phone back. “Good. You've proven that you're serious about Dira.”

“So, what should I do next?” I'm just impatient.

“Before, I need to make sure of something. Have you contacted or seen him again lately?” ask Mama.

“Iya,” I replied hesitantly. I hope you won't tell me I made a mistake. “I sent a message welcome to take the exam.”

My mother smiled meaningfully. “Good. I've known Dira since she was a kid. So, I know who you can influence to make her change her mind and come back to you.”

It took us less than thirty minutes to discuss the step by step I needed to take to launch the plan. My mother let me do everything according to my creativity. He just gave me some tips that he was sure would work.

I can't wait to see him again and end our farewells because of my own stupidity. I was actually intending to wait until he was done with the college entrance selection, but I couldn't delay it for that long. No matter what Vivaldo and Nora plan to do, I should always be near Dira to protect her from them.

Since Mama did not show her objection, then I concluded that the message I sent to Dira was a good thing. For three days in a row, I sent the same message to give him the spirit of taking the final exam.

I was in his position once and I remember how nervous I was when I took the exam. Hadi who usually relaxed every time he faced the exam, turned agitated just like me. Indeed, the results of this final exam are not a determinant of our passage from school. But we hope to graduate with satisfactory grades on our diploma.

“Good afternoon, Mr. Colin,” welcome Mr. Abdi who opened the door for me. “Mrs will meet you in the family room.”

“Thank you, Sir.” I walked in and waited for the man to close the door again. “Ah, no. Let me take it. Thank you.” I refused as she reached out her hand to help me bring the item in my hand.

“Good. Come, I'll drop you off, Mr.” Mr. Abdi walked by my side towards the room I already knew. But for the sake of manners, I don't act like the one who's welcome in this house. Because I'm not part of this family anymore.

“Cole? What are you doing here?” tanya Hadi who walked down the stairs of her house. “I don't remember we had an appointment at my house. And why are you carrying a bouquet of all flowers? Ah, wait. Don't tell me the flower is for—”

“No. This is not for Dira.” I shook my head quickly. We no longer have a love affair, so giving this flower to her would only make her hate me. Dira likes things that smell romantic, but only from her lover. Not from ordinary friends.

“Then for whom else?” ask Hadi confused. His eyes then rounded. “Forku??”

I shuddered in disgust at hearing that. “Did break up from Clarissa make you lose your mind? I'll just bring flowers to your grave. Satisfied?”

For the first time after a few weeks of giving me hell, Hadi laughed. Not a regular laugh. He laughed out loud when I wasn't being funny. I decided to ignore him and walk towards the living room. Hadi came in and sat across from me.

“Please enjoy, Sir, Mistress,” said Ms. Yuyun after putting dishes, cups, teapots, and spoons on the table. We are all grateful to him.

“I came to apologize, Aunt. This is as a sign of my apology.” I gave her a bouquet of flowers. He looked at me suspiciously, but he received the flower. “I want to ask permission to Aunt as well as Uncle Hendra to approach Dira again.”

Aunt and Hadi exchanged looks. “Colin, what you are doing is a mistake that is not easy to forgive. You cheated on Clarissa.”

“Tapi—” I said trying to explain.

“Iya, I know that you did it because of force. You don't know that Vivaldo and Nora are just using you. But therein lies your mistake. You don't find out first, instead just agree to break up your relationship in a way that you know will hurt Dira.” Aunt Zahara nodded slowly.

“Why are you coming now, Cole? Do you think we will all forgive you after that long time has passed? I still stand by my stance. You can't go near my sister anymore. Point,” Hadi said firmly.

“You know that I'm not serious about Clarissa. I admit that I was wrong to do this, but I didn't mean anything bad. I think I'm doing a good thing.”

“ Betraying my sister is a good thing, you say?”

“Don't forget that I'm the one who brought Mila into your midst. I was the first to introduce him to all of Aunt Zahara's friends. If I never do this, maybe Uncle Ed and Aunt Lindsey are still looking for Clarissa.”

Before, I didn't realize the significance of my stupid decision. It was my mother who first thought about this. Had I not paid Mila to be my fake boyfriend for Dira to end our relationship, Clarissa would not have met her family so soon.

I will not deny that I made a terrible mistake. But they also could not ignore the fact that the bad incident actually brought happiness to Uncle Ed's family. They finally found their lost granddaughter.

“I never thought so before,” muttered Aunt Zahara barely audible. He lifted his head and looked at me and Hadi in turn. “Without your actions, Hadi will also never be able to continue his life. He'll keep waiting for the girl who doesn't know where the jungle is. Even if something bad happened to her, at least she knew what to do now. He can choose another girl, if he wants.”

“It's not about me, Ma. Please, focus on Dira.” Hadi looked at me. “I know you are a good friend, but you are a bad lover. Your relationship with Dira is much longer than that of me and Clarissa, unfortunately you have no solid foundation. Do you know what your relationship lacks?”

“What do you mean?” I said defend myself. “Nothing less in our relationship.”

“Find out what is lacking in your relationship, then I reconsider whether you are still worthy to be with my sister again.”

“Thank you, sir,” Clarissa said to the butler who opened the front door for her.

“Welcome back, Miss. Big Master is waiting for you in the living room,” said the man politely. He pointed with his hand for Clarissa to walk first.

Without asking, Clarissa complied and walked with the man into the living room. She opens the door for him, and Clarissa sees her family in the room. He thanked the butler before entering the room.

“Grandpa, Grandma, what's asking me to come to this room?” clarissa asked confusedly.

“We should have asked you.” Lindsey smiled worriedly. “Until when will you just shut up and not tell us about the attitude of students on campus towards you? They dare to hit you today, will you still be quiet and act no problem in front of us?”
