*Colin*
On the way to Hadi's house, we were silent. Dad reminded me once again to use the opportunity to talk to Uncle Hendra. My heart was pounding very quickly imagining having to talk to the man I was disinclined with.
Uncle Hendra is a good man. I don't need to be afraid of him. But I have made a terrible mistake that will not be forgiven. She left her daughter to me, and I hurt her. I've seen for myself how he treats people who have dared to touch his family.
By the time we were third grade at SMU last semester, Hadi was found alone with a daughter student in the health room. The girl sat on one of the cots in a forced open uniform and her skirt lifted up to the waist with a clear cut on the side of one of her thighs. Hadi who was looking at him with a blank look was standing on the side of the cot.
Since the girl was shouting hysterically, everyone, especially the teacher did not think before acting. They scolded Hadi, threw him out of the room, then tried to calm the girl who was screaming for help.
A young man suddenly threw his fist at Hadi's face, which he quickly repelled with his hand. Other students only dare to label Hadi as a shameless lowly man, a rapist, a criminal, but no one dares to touch him. Because they all know who his father is.
“How dare you touch my girlfriend! Is it because your father is a rich man, so you think all the girls in this school will give him a body for you!? Baj*ngan! You deserve to go to jail! This time you will be expelled from school! Rich man assholes!” He continued to rain down on Hadi with his haphazardly fists that were fended off easily.
I who was sick of seeing everyone suddenly believe that Hadi was a bad person immediately kept the crazy young man away from him. The teacher came to disperse the crowd, then asked Hadi to go to the teacher's room. Still with a blank look, he looked at the teacher before walking towards the teacher room. I followed.
That opportunity I used to contact Uncle Hendra. He did not need the details and promised to arrive soon. We just sat down without doing anything when we arrived at the teacher's room. The teachers in the room had no idea what had happened.
When a teacher I knew caught Hadi wet in the room came, he did not ask before slapping Hadi in the face. No one had ever dared to do such a thing to her before. So, I understood why all the teachers took a surprised breath seeing him do just that.
“Sick kid, don't know yourself! Are you a hobby of watching porn? Is that what you do in your spare time? I know all your high grades are fake because you easily get it under your father's influence. Don't think because all the teachers here are afraid of you, so am I. How humiliating! This school should not accept perverted students like you!”
It happened so fast that I was late to react. I was just standing in front of Hadi when a slap had landed on his cheek. Uncle Hendra will be very angry to see the face of his eldest son later.
I don't know what the girl said that this teacher was so angry. But what does this have to do with Hadi's impeccable academic grades and his father's influence? Hadi studied hard to get a good performance in this school, no interference papaanya.
“Bu, stop. Don't do this. Why did Mom hit him before asking?” Two female teachers came closer and kept him away from Hadi.
“You ask what else? He wants to hold our daughter's students in the infirmary. The evidence is clear. The school doctor is checking his condition, he will follow here and tell you what kind of man he is,” he accused full of anger.
The school doctor arrives along with Uncle Hendra, Uncle Zach, and Mama. The man was very angry when he saw the slap marks on Hadi's left cheek. His pale cheeks clearly showed a reddish-colored hand stamp. If the gaze could kill, perhaps the teacher had already lost his life with just a sharp look of Papa Hadi.
Uncle Hendra held back when he heard the school doctor's explanation about the state of the girls who claimed to be raped by Hadi. He found the marks on the students' thighs were strange. If Hadi did, there should be no marks there because the skin meets the skin. The nail bed was proof that the girl herself had lifted her skirt in a hurry. After she asked seriously, the girl confessed that Hadi did not touch her. He accused her because the young man was constantly rejecting her love.
The student apologized, but he had to drop out of school and hold a press conference to explain that the videos and photos that the students had shared were lies. The teacher who slapped Hadi was dishonorably fired and could no longer teach at any school. Then the young man who claimed to be the girl's student boyfriend was expelled from school.
Such a big problem is done quickly and effectively in a matter of hours. I'm sure the headmaster slightly wet his pants when he heard Uncle Hendra would talk to the head of the education office if something similar happened again. The allegations of abuse are nothing compared to the attitude of teachers who beat students without conducting investigations first. I've never felt that scared of Uncle Hendra.
Since then, Hadi has become cold and indifferent to others, especially women, as they ask for help. He no longer cares about those who claim to be sick and need help to the doctor or hospital. He would rather let someone else do it. He was never in a room with a woman.
His heart that had never been touched by any girl was getting numb from the actions of the princess's students. He stared intently at anyone whenever he talked about romance. If they keep talking about it, he will leave that place.
And I'm so sorry to have fallen into Vivaldo and Nora's trap. You idiot! I should have been honest with Hadi since I first met them. Not acting heroic by trying to save their family's face. I deserve to be hated by this family for hurting Dira. But I have to be manly by talking to his father and mother.
“Kak Diah? What honor can Adi force Sister to come to an event like this?” many of you are surprised to see the wife in the game Adi can attend his birthday celebration.
“Halooo .. It's not Sunday night,” he said mocking me. I laugh. “You always make an event on Sunday night, and you already know why I can't come.”
“You can emulate Colin by occasionally bringing his girlfriend to our show. Is your boyfriend a guy who hates games?” ask Adi curious.
“He likes games, but card games.” Diah shut her mouth hiding her laughter. We were open to hearing it. “Boring, I know. Well, at least he didn't forbid me to play my favorite game.”
“Stop talking, where's the gift from you?” sue Adi with her right hand outstretched towards us.
“You haven't checked your main character today? I've sent a gift to my husband in my game.” Diah blinked one eye.
“Oh, yes?” Adi immediately took his phone out of his pants pocket and opened our gaming app. “Wow, Diah. This is the weapon skin I want! Thank you!”
“Check me again carefully,” said Diah while raising her eyebrows while looking at me.
“You gave me the latest costume too!? This is the best gift I've ever received! But this, ‘kan, is not cheap. You shouldn't spend this much money just for games.”
“I want when you finally decide to sell the character, you can sell it at a high price. Then I would be very proud to ever be his wife.”
“Weapon skin and costume? That's not how much. You should have checked my gift too,” I said I don't want to lose.
“There is no other notice on my character.” Adi looked at me confused.
“Because I didn't give something to your character, but rather your account.”
Adi immediately exited the application and opened his email account. His eyes were so shocked that I smiled with satisfaction. Diah pouted looking at him. “Voucher is a lot, Colin.”
“You can buy anything you want. Weapon skin, costume, additional skills, anything. Even a gift for your wife.” I glanced at Diah.
“Of course your gift is more expensive. How can I defeat a sultan?” Diah grunts loudly. We laughed when we heard it.
The celebration was going on with great fanfare. And we don't stop talking about our latest game and strategy to face the next war over dinner together. I occasionally looked towards Dira who was sitting with Hadi and his best friend. I missed him, but could not get close because of my own stupidity.
When I saw Uncle Hendra and Aunt Zahara being alone, I turned to look at Dad. He was staring at me and immediately signaling for me to come at them. I took a deep breath as soon as I felt my heart pounding faster. I said goodbye to my friends, then approached the couple.
“Sorry, Uncle. Can we talk to you for a minute?” ask me politely. He looked at me expressionlessly, then nodded slowly. I swallowed heavily. Yeah, God. I'm so scared of this guy.
