He's The Unaffordable
Chapter 106 - Self-Esteem

*dira*

At first I thought that the girl named Valeria was my formidable opponent. She was not as pretty as I thought. His body is also shorter than mine. It was the thing that was lacking in Colin's eyes. Because he likes tall girls. Although I must admit she's an attractive girl to some men, her mouth will keep men away.

I hate Colin with all my heart, but I can't take it when someone insults him that low. He's not a shadow of Hadi. Even if the girls prefer to approach my sister, it doesn't mean that there aren't any women who are interested in Colin.

He didn't see what happened during our vacation in Ubud. Without his status as Papa's heir, Big Brother is nothing in the eyes of another girl. They actually prefer Colin with his face and western posture. Had we still been dating, the girls would not have dared to tease her.

Not wrong anymore. I'm jealous. And I can't hold myself in front of Colin. Damnit. It's a good thing he didn't discuss this further or I'll be ashamed of myself for the fallout. I need to train my emotions so as not to show them through harsh words.

But I have no regrets about cursing that woman with the right label. Although she had beautiful, well-groomed long hair, she was more suited to having a bald head. Such beautiful hair is not suitable to be owned by sharp-mouthed women.

My attention was diverted from the woman when Charlotte's voice complained about her sister. He and Hadi are the same. Equally stubborn. One is obviously still affectionate but unwilling to drop his pride by trying to improve their relationship. The other one was too much of a doubt thus blocking his intention to approach Big Brother.

Our conversation was cut short when Clarissa's voice came from behind us. I couldn't help but smile at his arrival. Brother would definitely be happy to see the girl he loves coming to see him. Of course he covered it up on the grounds he had come for a free lunch. He's a fool if he thinks we're gonna believe his word.

“So. Is that also the reason you broke off our relationship?” There was a sound of Kak Hadi from behind us. “Because I'm too independent so don't need you?”

Charlotte and I exchanged glances at each other hearing those words. We shifted so that the two of them could stand face to face. If only there was corn. It will be a comforting spectacle and I am hungry.

“Why are you even discussing our relationship? I didn't mention that last sentence. There is no connection between your independence and me.”

“Of course there are. Even very closely related. You won't decide I'm that easy if you know that I need you. Self, bullshit. I wouldn't have stayed with my parents if I was as independent as you said earlier.”

“How do you want me? Apologizing? I've apologized and explained why I was forced to do that.”

Brother was silent for a moment. She looked at Clarissa, then me, as if she had just realized something. “No. I'm the one apologizing. I shouldn't have discussed this anymore.” He looked at all of us, then put on a faint smile. “I'm hungry. Come on, we eat now.”

What the hell just happened? Brother and Clarissa were having a fight and everything suddenly stopped? What was Brother thinking so he fell silent? I'd better talk to him about this later. I was hungry and had no more energy to think hard.

The older brother once again ignored all the flowers and gifts that his fans had offered. Pak Sakti was waiting for us in the parking lot, as was the driver of Charlotte. We rode in our cars, while Colin rode his motorcycle.

“If you want to go with him, I can call him now,” said Adi who was already in the car. “I'm sure he will gladly stop and piggyback Brother.”

“Since when are you in this car?” many surprised. The three of them laughed.

“I knew you guys were having lunch together. I don't want to miss. So, I asked Pak Sakti to pick me up at home.”

“How about Mama?”

“Mama is busy finishing her book. I've asked, but Mama refused.”

Because there was Adi in the car, I waited for the right moment to talk alone with Kak Hadi. Although I'm sure she won't mind Adi hearing our conversation, I don't want anyone else to make her uncomfortable speaking the truth.

What are you thinking, Dira? You also have love problems. Your problem is not finished yet, you want to be a hero for your brother. Yes, but that doesn't mean I can't be a listener to my brother's problems.

I chose a restaurant that served my favorite steak menu. Because the distance is not far, just a few minutes we have arrived and can immediately order our food. But Colin who rides a motorcycle has not arrived yet.

“Who's looking, Brother?” adi Goda. “Sister Colin?” I took a deep breath so as not to be lured to snap at his head.

“Cole picked up Lily at their apartment. He'll be joining us soon. Her own sister is at home, so I asked her to take her too,” said Big Brother telling us.

When they finally arrived, they ordered food first. Lily sits next to Adi, while Colin is next to Clarissa. The question that had been held since then was finally asked as well. Charlotte asked Kak Hadi about the seminar. I wasn't surprised when Big Brother announced he graduated and got an A.

“You only make me more nervous,” Colin said as he placed his hand on his chest. “Can I graduate tomorrow too? I don't care about the grades I get, the important thing is pass.”

“Of course value does not matter. I met a lot of people with high academic scores, but the talk does not contain.” Wyatt rolled his eyeballs. He put his hand on Charlotte's shoulder. “My girls whose academic grades are not as high as they are actually much smarter.”

We huu ria and laugh together. “How about you, Hadi? What kind of young man are you looking for? I know you and Clarissa were betrothed. But if you can choose, what kind of girl does a man as smart as you want?”

“Girl who will fight with me and appreciate my struggle. You've seen what happened to Dira. That's just one example that people can do to us because of our status as Papa's children. I'm sure there are a lot of other challenges that we'll face going forward. So, the girl should be a tough fighter, not one that gives up easily.”

Even though Big Brother didn't mention his name, we knew who he meant by a girl who gave up easily. And strangely, I did not feel offended or hurt when Big Brother recalled that painful incident. Does this mean I'm recovering?

“Wow. I thought you'd say a beautiful, attractive, intelligent girl, attending a top university, comes from a distinguished family...” Charlotte looked at Brother Hadi in surprise. “You can choose any girl and you just need a fighter? You don't mind social or educational differences, for example?”

“You haven't seen any girl trying to get close to me, Charlotte? What you saw on campus was an ordinary girl with a mainstream approach. You haven't seen what the child girls of Papa's colleagues do every time we meet,” Brother said arrogantly.

“What do they do?” charlotte asked inquire. I smiled and realized what my friend was doing. “Take you on a date? Express love through shares?”

“Kot more like that. They offer marriage with a big business advantage, a marriage merger, or simply being a bedmate with no strings attached. Don't imagine that innocent young girl offering herself to me. But imagine a very attractive young woman with sweet words that are difficult to resist by a young man like me.”

“Don't say attractive means they are scantily dressed with a body shape that tempts the faith of every young man like us,” said Wyatt sarcas.

“They are not always scantily dressed. Some were clad closed but formed the curves of their bodies. Sometimes they're not satisfied just by persuading, Wyatt. They also often pretend to accidentally bring their chest closer to my body. I—”

“It's enough!!” Someone hit the table hard, making us almost jump out of our seats.

*******

“Fucking woman!!” Valeria throws her bag over the couch. Then he walked around in the room. “My plan today was ruined because of him.”

“Valeria, what is you?” A middle-aged woman came from the direction inside the house towards the front room where Valeria was. “What's up? Why did you come home even angry like this?”

“Nothing, Ma.” Valeria smiled as she hugged her mother and kissed her cheek. “How is Mama doing? Is everything okay at home?”

“Everything is fine. Today I made a video with a new recipe. Many people watch and give thumbs up. I hope this video goes viral like everyone else. And I've sent some order cookies to the bookers. Today's revenue is quite large.” The woman took her daughter to the kitchen.

“Mama must be exhausted. Let me clear everything up. Mama just sit.” Valeria pulled one of the chairs for her mother, while she walked closer to the sink.

“You are indeed a good child,” praise the woman with a happy smile.

“Did Mama contact Om Noah?” ask Valeria.

“She won't answer her phone,” said the woman slowly.

Valeria throws the sponge in her hand into a bowl of soapy water until it is scattered. “Mama is her biological sister. How could he just shut up to see his brother and nephew living this poor life? Time gives business capital only he does not want!?”

“Nak, don't talk like that. We are not poor. I'm trying to meet all your needs so you have everything the other kids have.”

“We do not live in a big house, do not have a private vehicle, and do not have much money. Yes, Ma. We're poor!” spray Valeria.
