He's The Unaffordable
Chapter 117 - First Confession

*Clarissa*

Why do regrets always come too late? I felt the signs, I knew the symptoms, then why would I ignore all of that? It's all because I'm too stubborn and feel like I can handle everything myself.

My problem is getting complicated because the person I'm dealing with has high self-esteem and is not used to rejection. I'm tired of lying to everyone. But admitting I have special feelings for her now, I don't have the courage.

Hadi who used to be very nice and sweet to me has gone out of nowhere. What I always saw in front of me was Hadi who was cold, spoke sharply, and hated me. There was not a single bit of love for me in his eyes. I have to what now?

Charlotte is no longer my sister and best friend. He preferred to blame me, urging me to speak honestly to Hadi, without caring about my fear. Grandpa and Grandma can't talk to me either, I've been troubling them a lot. Grandma Claudia has turned her heart and would rather bring me closer to another young man, than help me get back to Hadi.

That young man named Luca was very annoying. We were just casual acquaintances, but he was pretending we had more relationships than friends. He talks too much without ever giving me time to say anything. The thing that I was finally grateful for, because I did not have to bother thinking about finding a topic of conversation.

The knock on the door of the room broke my daydream. “Go! I don't want to be disturbed!” I cried, because I knew who was behind the door.

Of course the girl did not care about her brother's orders. He opened the door, entered with a happy face, and then closed it again. “Don't get angry often, dear Clarissa. Emotions can make your face wrinkle faster.”

“Indeed, laughing too much will not make the face wrinkle faster?” my reply.

He laughed amusedly. “I'm sorry, okay? I knew that Hadi had a thick wall that sealed his heart from outside attacks. But I didn't know that it applies to you either.”

“I told you, that's a bad idea. Approaching him again is not the way out for my problems. Fortunately, Hadi wanted to help by talking directly with the overconfident young man.” I sighed loudly. “I didn't expect I'd have to deal with a guy like Wyatt.”

“Hey, hey. Don't equate my honey with that guy. Wyatt knew what he wanted and he never claimed me before I was his girlfriend,” he said defending Wyatt. “Luca that's all that acts as if you're already dating. It was all because of Grandma. After all, why did Grandma suddenly introduce the young man to you and bring him and his family on vacation here? Do you want to get married tomorrow? You, ‘kan, still in college?”

“Why did you ask me that? Ask Grandma. He doesn't want to hear anything I say. It seems Grandma already has her own plan. I'd run away from home if Grandma forced me to marry her. Point!” I said firmly.

Charlotte was silent and did not respond, so I turned to her. He was watching me closely. Then he raised both his legs on the bed so he could face me. “Clarissa,” he said while holding my hand. “If you don't have a boyfriend yet, can I get married first from you?”

“Why are you asking that? You don't need my permission. Whoever gets married first between the two of us, it's not a problem for me,” I said seriously. “I'd rather you and Wyatt get married before your relationship goes too far.”

“We will not cross the line. Wyatt appreciates the limit I gave him. Even though I've been in America longer, I'm still east soul.” Charlotte blinked one eye. “But Clarissa, I want you to be honest with me.”

“You really don't have any feelings for Hadi?” tanyanya full of search. “Because I noticed lately, you changed a little.”

“I changed?” ask me while thinking about the best answer to the next question.

“Iya. You appear neater when you go to campus and you get a little dressed up when you go to a place where Hadi will also come.” He was watching me carefully. “The most obvious thing was when Dira bullied her brother. You go to the toilet, and when you come back, you look like you just straightened your hair and put on a little makeup.”

I laughed nervously. Pimply. How could I not realize what I was doing? “It's just your feeling. I'm going to the toilet, I'm definitely going to meet the mirror. What else would I do if I didn't tidy up my slightly messy hair?”

“Clarissa, even Dira though you will not be able to lie. Especially I'm your own sister.” She smiles. “So, until when will you cover your feelings and keep it to yourself?”

“What we are talking about is Hadi.” I don't deny it, but I also don't frankly admit it. “He is not easy to forgive.”

“If you are in his position, can you forgive your actions? The person she had been waiting for for a dozen years gave her the opportunity to have a serious relationship, then abruptly ended the relationship without discussion.” I took a deep breath hearing Charlotte's words.

“So, how should I? I have no experience in this. But don't give me any more silly ideas,” I said pleading. “I've been quite embarrassed by Wyatt's actions today.”

“Mm. Hadi loved you once, so I bet that he still has a bit of feelings for you. Just like me and Dira. We were not fully able to throw our affection on our ex. And they took advantage of that when they asked us to come back. You use the same way.” Charlotte snapped her finger. “I know! I have a great idea!”

The idea he thought was scary to me. What if Hadi takes advantage of my position and retaliates in front of everyone later? Not only did I lose face, but I also lost the chance to get a job.

“What? Get a job?” Charlotte laughed out loud. I pouted to see him take my future lightly. “Clarissa, have you forgotten? You'll be a substitute for Grandpa or Grandpa someday. You do not need to apply for a job at any company.”

He's right too. Why did I forget that? Alright. I will try my best to get her heart back. My body suddenly trembled at what he could do to me later. But I immediately took that thought out of my head. Whatever he does, I deserve it. This is my way of fixing everything.

Since there was no more activity on campus, I just stopped by to see the latest announcements on the boards available. I accidentally passed through Hadi's department office, but he was nowhere to be seen. There are only a few students that I know one major with.

Wyatt and Charlotte were still patiently waiting in the car when I got back. The driver drove the car after I joined them. My sister and her boyfriend stayed quiet for as long as we were on our way. Our next destination made us unable to speak.

Grandpa and Grandma arrived first. They stood up when they saw us entering the lobby. I saw Dira surrounded by her family. I can understand what the girl is feeling at this moment. Because I was also in his position a few days ago. The difference is, he'll be an easy target for the suspects' legal counsel, because the case is heavier than mine.
