“Wyatt remembered one sentence Finley said. He said that he would destroy the Grandpa family either with or without Wyatt's help. If he can't touch Charlotte, then he can go back to his original plan—”
“Kidnap you,” I said finish the sentence. Clarissa nodded slowly.
“You know what he kidnapped me for?” tanyakanya. I shrugged my shoulders. “He wants to marry me. Do you believe that? There's a pastor ready to get us married, as well as documents for us to sign. That guy's gone crazy. Is she so far away from me and she wants to marry me? You know, ‘kan, I can defend myself. So, I waited until we were both alone to beat him up. But he's lucky. The police came when he was going to take me to my room.”
“Ke room? You mean, you're married to him?” She is my fiancee, how could she even marry another man?
“No. My name is Clarissa Raina, but she made my name Mila Meredith Taylor. The name he used on his fake passport. Even while taking the wedding vows, the priest mentioned Mila's name. I'm Clarissa, not Mila. Since I refused to take the oath and signed the autograph, he wanted us to sleep together first.
“Can you imagine that? He said that I was his missing son, then he wanted to marry me? Is that guy out of his mind anymore? But you don't worry. He has been arrested and will be facing trial. Grandpa promised he'd pay worse than that. Grandpa will bankrupt his company.” Clarissa smiled with satisfaction.
“It should have been so.” I looked at his face carefully. There's a bandage on his right temple. He was sitting next to me when the accident happened, why was his wound on the right? “Why are you injured here?” I wiped the hair covering the bandage.
“Oh.” He touched my hand on the temple, then lowered it again. “This is due to the gun Finley put on my head after giving police warning shots. Hot once, but now it no longer hurts.” He smiled to calm me down. “Don't face it that way. I'm really okay.”
Finley Taylor is crazy. A pistol? He put a firearm on my fiance's temple? Goddamn bum! Fortunately the police arrived on time so nothing worse happened to him. Not only did I barely lose my life, but Clarissa did too. Om Edu and Uncle Mason must make sure that the man gets the most reward for what he did to Clarissa. That man is not human.
“If the wound is broken, I will teach him a lesson for touching you.” I caressed her cheek. This girl is mine, I should have taken good care of her. I couldn't move after the accident. My body was pinned to the door and the car hit me. So, I can't prevent him from being taken by those kidnappers.
Marrying. What was Finley thinking that he wanted to marry a girl who was the same age as his own son? Is it because her face is similar to that of Aunt Abby, so she wants Clarissa to take over from her mother? Until when does the man keep remembering the woman who didn't even love him? A woman who had even died a dozen years ago.
Clarissa will only marry me. Even before she was born, Mama and Aunt Claudia had already talked about our marriage. No other man should have her. After a dozen years apart, he came back to me again. He's just for me.
“Ehem. I didn't mean to bother,” Charlotte said to surprise me so I quickly pulled my hand from Clarissa's face. I looked around and realized that we were not alone in this room. “But you two were so engrossed that you forgot someone else was here.”
“Oh. Forgive me.” Clarissa immediately stood up clumsily. “I only ... we only ...”
“Sit, Clarissa.” Mama sat him back by my side laughing.
“You won't believe this,” said Aunt Lindsey. “Me and Claudia just tease him by saying that Hadi is dying as a result of the accident. Fortunately, the nurse had just released her infusion needle, otherwise she would have darted into this room while carrying her infusion bag.”
“He didn't even think twice to digest our speech. After asking for Hadi's room number, he immediately jumped down from his bed and ran out of the room.” Aunt Claudia laughs with Aunt Lindsey.
“Grandpa! Grandma!” clarissa protested with a dead red face to resist embarrassment. I smiled seeing him. Could it be that I felt it too? She worried about me so much that she rushed here for me. Is she in love with me too?
“Don't smile, Hadi. This joke is not funny.” He misunderstood. I don't smile because of our family. He hit me and I immediately groaned in pain. He hit the right side of my body, right where the bruise was. “Oh. Forgive me.”
“Be careful touching that part of her body, Clarissa. She had unsightly bruises all over the right side of her body,” Mama said gently, without a tinge of anger at her voice. Clarissa looked at my body with curiosity. “You want to see it?”
“No!” answer me and Clarissa simultaneously. Everyone laughed out loud. “Can you all stop teasing us? We are patients, who knows you forgot,” I said grumpily.
“We did not forget. But those of you who seem to forget us because this world feels like yours,” Charlotte's tease, look at me and Clarissa in turn. “Oh, Clarissa. I never saw you staring at someone like you staring at Hadi earlier.”
“Stop, Charlotte,” Clarissa said.
“You know? I have a much better plan,” said Aunt Claudia who immediately caught our attention. I was worried to hear that sentence. “Instead of waiting until mid-year, how about we have their engagement officially now?”
The atmosphere of the room immediately crowded with parents who competed to give their opinions. Mothers scramble to talk first, while fathers only comment when their opinions are asked. Dira and Charlotte also did not want to lose expressing their opinions. Instead, Clarissa tried to mediate and asked them not to plan any events, no one cared.
Just like the day Clarissa was shown to be Aunt Lindsey's granddaughter, they didn't want to know what we wanted. They already have their own opinions. Just because Clarissa and I ignored them for a moment and focused on talking together, they immediately concluded that we loved each other and were ready to move on to the next step.
“Why are those more enthusiastic about our engagement than our own?” clarissa asked while shaking in disbelief. Our family is still arguing about the event.
“I also don't know.” I lifted both my shoulders. “If you don't want this, don't worry. I'll talk to Papa. He will support whatever my decision is.”
“If only I could do the same to my family.” He stared sadly at his grandparents. “They have been sad for a long time since losing me as well as my parents, so I can't bear to ruin their happiness. Being engaged to you is not a bad thing. As Grandma said, you come from a wealthy family and a major heir.”
“Ahh .. so now you are starting to be interested in me because of that?” I returned the temptation. “Do you not know that I hate matre girls?”
“Have you ever heard of a woman who wants to marry a bokek guy?” his reply. I laughed hearing that. “Love alone is not enough to be the reason someone gets married, Hadi. Life needs money and you know it. After all we've only been acquaintances for a few weeks, too soon to discuss love.”
I grabbed her hand and looked at her two eyes seriously. “After the fatal accident we had and heard you were almost married to another man, I will regret not immediately making you mine, Rissa.”
He frowned. “What do you mean?” either he doesn't understand, or he just needs me to confirm what he's guessing inside his head.
Without any hesitation at all, I expressed my deepest feelings towards a woman for the first time in my life. “I love you.”

Meanwhile in a place~
Sigit looked at the man who had been his friend questioningly. Finley's face was red with his eyes staring intently, ready to crush anyone who tried to block his path. But Sigit knew that this time his best friend had crossed the line.
“I can't do that, Finn. Your problem is with his mother. Enough effort has been made to avenge the deeds of the long dead. His son is innocent. Even you owe him an apology for separating him from his family,” Sigit refused.
“Don't forget who's in control here, Sigit. With just one snap of a finger, I can make your life and company a mess. Remember, who helped you when everyone turned away from you. I saved your nearly bankrupt business. I made my wife not leave you. I also helped the treatment of your son who almost died on the operating table.” Finley looked at him sharply. “Do my orders.”
Sigit struggled with himself hearing all the help he initially received in the name of friendship. It turns out Finley only wanted to use it when he needed it. “I've given more than you gave me, Finn. I'll do as you ask, but on one condition.”
“Say,” urges Finley to be impatient.
“This is the last time I'm helping you. I will not obey your words anymore and you cannot force me to break the law.”
“Agree,” said Finley without thinking long.
Sigit smiled with satisfaction. “My lawyer will come to see you soon. Sign the approval letter, then I'll do your last command .”
Finley's face was getting red. “What did you say? Approval warrant? Since when should our relationship use letters, Sigit? Do you not trust me anymore?”
