He's The Unaffordable

He's The Unaffordable
Chapter 192 - The Original Statement

Everyone's eyes were on it, but none of us understood what Om Zach was going to do. I held Colin's hand and smiled at him. He just smiled faintly, still looking worried. Om Zach opened the screen of his phone, then chose what and a sound came out of it.

“What's up? You want to laugh at me?” Sounded Laras' voice. The tape was silent for a moment. “You dare not come alone, so you ask your uncle to accompany you?” There was the sound of Laraas laughing. Oh. Lord. I know where I've heard Laras say that phrase! I didn't expect that Om recorded our entire conversation.

“Enough! Turn off the recording!” exclamation Laras who tried to reach Om's phone, but Om moves faster. He kept the thing out of range.

“I fell in love. I fell in love and stopped thinking with my logic. I know what I did was wrong when she asked that our relationship be kept a secret.” The sound in the tape kept talking. I now understand why he was scared. Her parents had no idea about her relationship with Mr. Billy's son. Things he'll admit on the tape.

“Please, turn off! I'll talk honestly. Really am! I'll tell you the truth!” shouted Laras in panic. Om Zach finally gave up. The tape's off.

“What the fuck is this, Baras? Why are you scared like this? What is the content of the recording?” ask her father confused. “Do you think I'll get mad because you're in love? No need to worry, son. That's a natural thing to happen to a girl your age.”

“A-I will meet the officer now and admit that I lied,” Laras said.

“No!” exclaim papanya. “You can't say that to them. This is the best road, Baras. If you say that this man is not involved, then the punishment they will inflict on you is very heavy, son. Think it over carefully.”

You fucking dick! So, he's the one who made up the story and involved Colin in the Laras case? What video evidence did they show the police until they believed and arrested Colin? That's a very nasty accusation. Hurting me alone has made Colin feel guilty for months. He would not be able to hurt let alone kill an innocent person.

“Twelve children, Pa. Twelve children died for my actions. Papa told me to ruin the future of another child who had nothing to do with the incident?” laras lirih. “Me and Colin never even talked together. How did Papa and Papa's lawyer prove that he was also guilty?”

“You're scared because of that tape?” The man pointed towards the phone in Om Zach's hand. “What did you say to them until you were scared like this? Tell. No one can hurt you, son. There's me, your papa.”

“A-I'm going to my cell back.” Barrel looked nervous and immediately stood up.

“No.” His father immediately held him by holding his hand. He looked towards Om Zach. “Continue the recording. I have to hear it.”

Om Zach looked towards Laras who immediately shook his head. “Laras is in this recording and he refused. So, I have to respect his decision.”

“Basic stupid boy! I'm trying to help you, this is how you repay my kindness!” The man let go of Laras' hand violently, then walked out of the room.

Baras cried sobbing, his mother immediately stood up and hugged him. Om Zach asked me to come out. We waited outside when Om and Colin talked to the officers. Turns out what Colin was worried about happened. He felt uneasy when the police serving him did not ask gently anymore, but began interrogating him once he stated that he knew Laras.

Maybe papa Laras paid someone to look for the possibility that someone else could be dragged to help reduce his daughter's sentence. They chose Colin. He was the son of a school principal and a secretary. Parents who have no influence. Unlike the other students I know are the children of wealthy businessmen or important officials.

I let Aunt Gista hug her son while crying out. I can't imagine what happened in their apartment this morning. Hopefully the police are not being rude to him or his family. They are good people. How could anyone try to accuse one of them of having done evil.

Om Zach states that everything is in order and Colin is out of trouble. But he asked Uncle Will to contact him immediately in case something similar happened. I hugged Colin just before returning to the car with Pak Sakti. Papa, Om Zach, and Kak Hadi return to the office in Papa's car.

Although I could not concentrate on college, I forced myself to stay on campus until the last course. Charlotte and Wyatt didn't ask me why I was late. They waited until I told them myself.

I said what happened that morning while waiting for Pak Sakti to come pick me up. Charlotte exasperates knowing the allegations Laras made about Colin. I want to shout the same thing.

“I can't imagine if I became Colin.” Charlotte shook her head. “She had to get out of the apartment through the lobby where there were a lot of people who saw her being taken to the police car. That's a very embarrassing thing. Seeing him free later, not necessarily they believe that he is innocent. They could have thought that he was released because of money.”

“You think too far, sweety,” said Wyatt cutting before Charlotte continues her next sentence. “It was a shameful incident. Is correct. But they must have known Colin and his family. They are good people.”

Pak Sakti came, then we split up. They got into their car, and I got into my car. Arriving home, Mama greeted me and invited me to sit with her in the living room. He asked me to tell him everything that happened at the police station.

“Thank God, Colin has been released.” Mama was relieved. “Gista spoke to me over the phone. She kept screaming hysterically because her son was taken by the police. I couldn't believe it when he said all that. Colin's so good, how could he have committed a crime? Someone seems to be slandering him. The girl has no her rapids.”

“Why can anyone be that bad, Ma? Had Colin been a bad guy, he didn't deserve to be slandered like that,” I said sadly.

“Her father is an important official. Of course he didn't want his good name smeared. I heard he's going to contest the national election. Her name could be removed from her party's list if her daughter is found guilty, dear. So, no wonder they are trying to scapegoat.” Mama caressed my cheek. “Do not worry. We will help you if they are still looking for trouble again.”

I now understand why Laras was afraid that his papa would hear his confession on the tape. The man would definitely be furious if he knew his daughter had been in a relationship with a much older man. I can't imagine what he would do to cover up his daughter's actions from everyone.

“Hopefully the trial will be held soon so that the case is quickly completed,” I said slowly. Mama agreed.

Papa and my two brothers came home, so we could have dinner together. They do not talk much, busy with their own thoughts. I don't want to talk about anything either. Today's events have caught my attention.

Being in the room alone, the events of this morning regained control of my mind. With just one word, an innocent person could be arrested by the police. Had Papa Laras been a commoner, he would not have had the power to hurt Colin. I can't lose to Papa. I have to work hard to earn a lot of money. That way, when anyone tries to hurt me or Colin, we can be their balanced opponents.

The door of my room was knocked, then Big Brother's head appeared from behind the door. “I'm bored just alone in the room.” He closed the door and sat down on one of the couches. “Main card?”

“Kakak came here just to play cards? Impossible.” I got out of bed and sat down in front of him, with the table between us.

“To drink warm tea with cake also.” He turned to the door to hear a knock. Without looking, I knew what was coming was Adi.

“Ooo-be. So this is what you do every time you gather three in the room.” Hearing Mom's voice, I looked up. He came with Papa in their nightgowns. “Come, darling. We're coming.”

“Duh, no, Ma. I can lose if Papa plays.” I stopped them from sitting on the couch. “Papa and Mama make out in the room only. It's time for kids, not parents.”

“I'm on your team, so you won't lose.” Papa sat down by my side, I immediately hugged his arm in a fit of anxiety.

“Yes! Victory is in sight!” cheers happy.

“Then what about me, baby?” mama with a sad face.

“Mama with me only,” said Adi who entered the room. “We can definitely win easily against Papa and Kak Dira.” He raised his head arrogantly.

“Why are you so sure?” ask Hadi astonished.

“I've learned a lot of games, Brother. It's an easy question. The most important thing is the strategy contest.” Adi sat next to Mama so that she was between her two sons.

“I accept your challenge. Shake and share the card, Hadi,” Papa said with a cynical smile.

My phone on the nightstand rang, I picked it up immediately. It wasn't a video call from Colin. There are several new messages in the inbox that come almost simultaneously. I opened the inbox and there were so many messages from various numbers that I didn't know or keep.
