He's The Unaffordable

He's The Unaffordable
Chapter 83 - Sweet Words

*dira*

“He came to your house yesterday? Then, then?” charlotte asked impatiently.

“Nothing ago. I didn't talk to him with my family. Why am I in the same room with that cheat guy?” I said sneering. “Whatever he does, I won't go back to him.”

“Wow, Dira. So, Colin intends to invite you to come back to him?” asked Wyatt who was suddenly interested in our topic of conversation.

“What is the purpose of his arrival to my house with flowers for my mother and my family's favorite food? Of course he wants me back to him.”

“You women need to learn a lot from us men. If we don't come to see you, that doesn't mean you're the purpose of our arrival. Now I ask you.” Wyatt put on a serious face. “What Colin came to see you?”

“No. But what else does it mean if not to approach me again?”

“Did he say that to you yesterday? That he came to approach you again?”

“No. But—”

“Then in conclusion, he did not come for you. Our way of thinking is not as complicated as you girls. So, Dira, stop suspecting that poor young man. He is a good guy and trust me, you are lucky because you were once his girlfriend.”

“Omong empty what is this?” charlotte protest. “While Colin did not say the purpose of his arrival to Dira's house bluntly, the five-year-old also knew for whom he was so. You and him are the same. You make mistakes, then you hope we forget and forgive you by being sweet. Wyatt, if you want to defend Colin, get out of here.”

“I don't defend Colin. I was teaching Dira how to think logically,” Wyatt said in self-defense.

“Dira!” Someone's calling from behind us. I don't have to look around to know who the owner of the voice is.

“Ayo, fast! I don't want to talk to him now.” I pulled Charlotte and Wyatt's hand so they could speed up their steps.

“She's tenacious too, yeah. Colin has a tough rival.” Wyatt laughed a little.

“I won't be back with Colin. He's already wasted the opportunity he has.”

“So, why are you avoiding Jordan? He seems like a good young man. Seeing her business approaching you, she must be serious about her feelings for you.”

“The problem is, I have no feelings for him. What he did was tacky. Same goes with Colin.” I let out a sigh of relief as we entered the classroom.

“Sama noraknya like you asked me to come back,” said Charlotte chimed. Wyatt laughed out loud which gifted Charlotte a punch on his arm. “I hate you so much!”

“Love and hate it difference thin, honey. You can deny your feelings to me now. But someday, you will forgive me and accept me back.” Wyatt approached Charlotte and my best friend retreated. His steps stopped as his thighs touched the table.

“Omong empty. I don't love you. What's the point of loving someone who uses my feelings to help my family's enemies take revenge? Don't talk love, Wyatt. Because I know that you never loved me,” spray Charlotte.

Wyatt placed both his hands on the table so that Charlotte's body was confined. I held my breath waiting for his response. “I've always loved you. And you know it.”

If Charlotte doesn't melt, then I'm touched to hear that line. Love's. I don't know why the word sounds so sweet, promise-filled, and emotional. Not everyone says it sincerely. But I know Wyatt is serious about his feelings for my best friend.

Papa says love every day to Mama, and vice versa. When they were fighting, the word was able to make them reconcile. As they were parting ways, the word made them impatient to meet again. When they're together, that word will make them kiss hot until me and my two brothers have to give them space to be alone.

“Which I know, you lied to me. Do you think I'll believe you again after everything you've done behind my back? No will, Wyatt.” Charlotte pushes Wyatt's body away, then he sits in his chair.

“Hai, Dira!” greet Jordan from the doorway.

I sighed softly watching him approach me. Wyatt smiled meaningfully, while Charlotte hid her smile with her hands. Damn traitor. “Hai, Jordan.” I walked to my desk and sat on my stool.

“I called you earlier, didn't you hear?” tanyanya while standing on the side of my desk.

“Oh, I'm sorry. We were afraid of being late, so we hurriedly entered class.” I glanced at my watch. “There are still five minutes before the bell rings.”

“Do you come to the event on Saturday?” tanyanya enthusiastic.

“Then, do you want to go with me?” The question invited cheers from friends sitting near me.

I rolled my eyeballs looking at their reaction. “I'll come with my driver. We met at school, Jordan.” They now mock me with long hooves.

“I mean, I want to meet your family before we leave.”

“For what did you meet my family?”

“Of course to get acquainted. We've been friends for a long time, so—”

“Jordan, I'll be with Charlotte and Wendy before coming to the show. Then we went to school together. You will not meet my family. They have their own show every weekend. So, we meet at school only.”

“Alright, then. I'll wait for you at the entrance.” He walked to his desk before I could answer.

I really don't understand his attitude. He apologized for forcing me to be his girlfriend. Then after we agreed to make friends, why did he act as if we were more than friends?

“Price once she. On the face of fame, liked by many men, he rejected them all. Just look if he's not young anymore, he must have accepted all the men who came,” said the friend who sat on my right side to the friend on his right.

“Hei.” Charlotte who was sitting in front of him patted his desk. “My best friend is liked by many people not because he is famous, but because he is kind. If you stop badmouthing others, I'm sure many men are starting to glance at you.”

“Ngga need to talk here. You and Dira are the same. You are pretentious by rejecting the men you like. What kind of man do you want? Hollywood Actors? Is Wyatt less handsome than all those actors?” reply the girl.

“Wait a minute.” Charlotte was watching the girl carefully. Then he laughed a little. “You like Wyatt?”

“Iya. Any problem? She is alone, no harm, ‘kan, I like her? Who knows someday he'll return my feelings.” The girl raised her chin, challenging Charlotte.

“Take it. He's nobody to me anymore.” Charlotte smiled mockingly.

“I don't need your permission. Let's see if you can smile when she's mine later.”

“Good morning, kids!” Our homeroom teacher entered the room with a carefree face. “How are you guys doing this morning? Definitely relieved, yes, already through the last test.”

Charlotte blinked one eye at me before turning her body. I just shook my head slowly to see his action defending me from the sneers of our classmates. He doesn't have to do that. I can defend myself.

We use study time to re-discuss the questions we receive during the exam. There are two types of problems so that each row receives a different problem. That way, those of us sitting next to each other couldn't cheat on answers. Both types of questions we discussed together. I was quite confident when one answer after another matched the answer I chose during the exam. Papa and Mama would be proud to see my value later.

Even though we didn't learn anything new anymore, the school ended as usual. I couldn't wait until Adi finished taking the extra lessons, so I told Pak Sakti to pick me up first.

“See, ‘kan?” charlotte said triumphantly. He turned his head towards Wyatt while extending his hand. “Colin is trying to get close to Dira again. Where's a hundred thousand?”

“Colin?” I looked towards the gate and found him sitting leisurely on his motorcycle seat. “Wait. You bet on Colin's arrival yesterday??”

“Hey, don't blame me. Wyatt challenged me and you know I don't like to be underestimated. So, I accepted the challenge. Pretty good, I can order a large portion of hamburger complete with fries and soda.” Charlotte floated a red note in front of me.

“I can't believe you guys did this.” I stared at them sharply. Wendy who was walking by my side just laughed amusedly.

Wyatt greeted Colin kindly as we were already nearby. The young man stood up and smiled at us. I intend to call Pak Sakti because he has not come. This has never happened before. He or Hadi's brother always picks up on time. If there is an obstruction, they always tell by message on the phone.

“Pak Sakti won't come even if you call him.” Colin patted his motorcycle seat. “I'll take you home.”

I ignored his words and placed my phone in my ear. Pak Sakti answered my call and told me exactly as Colin said. Even Kak Hadi himself allowed Colin to pick me up from school.

“Rather than going home with you, I'd better go home with Charlotte.”

“Sorry, Dira. Did you forget?” Charlotte put her hand on Wendy's shoulder. They exchanged meaningful views. “We'll take Wendy to her workplace, then pick up Clarissa. Today is the birthday of our head chef and we want to surprise.”

“No, Charlotte. You didn't have that plan just now,” my protest. He just ignored me by going with Wendy and Wyatt to his car. Damn traitor.
