He's The Unaffordable

He's The Unaffordable
Chapter 118 - Second Trial

I don't understand why a man of his age named Vivaldo and a woman named Nora used a young school-age boy like Jordan to hurt Dira? What they did would not even be thought of by people our age. Humiliating others by spreading a live broadcast of their innocent bodies was inhumane.

How Dira got through those tough times and sat there, witnessed by so many, I don't know. I'm sure some of the people here saw the broadcast. I'm still learning how to use social media, so I don't know how anyone can watch that video, and I don't.

When the broadcast went viral, I didn't know how to make it appear on my phone screen. I can only hope that there are many people who stutter technology like me so that it can reduce the number of people who watch the broadcast live.

Dira several times nearly cried in the witness' seat. He ended his testimony well. The criminals' legal advisers are trying their best to undermine Dira's credibility as a witness. It was a difficult thing to do because the evidence that led to Nora was too heavy. He used his own account to show it. Vivaldo and Jordan couldn't get along either, as they were in the same house when the incident happened.

Some of Dira and Jordan's classmates also testified voluntarily. There was one girl who tried to lie that was successfully made silent by the public prosecutor. He's the only one who testifies that Jordan and Dira are lovers. The nonsense that he himself did not believe him was seen from his attitude that avoided the judges' eyes.

“If Jordan and Dira are dating or Dira is in love with her, which sane woman would want a body without her clothes broadcast live? Can't they afford a smarter lawyer? Dira was unconscious in the show. Voluntary view of where he is willing to show his body?” charlotte was furious when the judge left the courtroom.

“Although it sounds crazy, it is their job to open opportunities so that the law that will be accepted by his client is lighter than the prosecutor.” Wyatt reached out his hand to help Charlotte stand up. “I'm hungry. Come on, we eat.”

“You are only thinking about food. Are you not the least bit sympathetic with what happened to Dira??” charlotte protest. Wyatt kissed her on the cheek, and my sister soon collapsed. I rolled my eyeballs looking at the two of them.

“Hendra invites us to lunch at his home.” Grandpa looked towards us. “We met at their house. Charlotte, please stop by for Dira's favorite chocolate. Buy a big box, yeah. He'll need it.”

“Good, Nek,” said my sister according to.

Dira and his family came out through a special door so they wouldn't be chased by reporters. We passed through the main door with the person who attended the hearing earlier. There were so many reporters standing at the door. Wyatt immediately helped me and Dira get through them. It's a good thing they don't know me with masks and sunglasses or they're gonna ask questions about Finley's trial.

Charlotte gives Grandma's chocolate to Dira. It seemed that he really liked the chocolate, because he jumped up happy to receive it. Colin didn't stay away from him for a second, so we had trouble speaking freely. Not much different from Charlotte who can't be far from Wyatt. Only Wendy ended up sitting by my side.

But I do understand. Dira is in need of the support of the people he loves today. Moreover, he had just repeated that traumatic event in front of the three people who had deliberately destroyed him.

“You must have participated in the PTN entrance selection, what campus did you choose?” ask Wendy when none of us want to talk first.

“Together with Dira and Charlotte. My supervisor also advised me to take that major. Because he will appoint me as his successor when I finish college later,” he replied cheerfully. “Do you think that department can I follow later?”

“All majors will start their early semester with basic theory, so you don't have to worry about missing anything.” Amused him. “Hopefully you passed the entrance selection.”

“The announcement is in a few days. I'm so nervous.” He placed his hand on his left chest while smiling faintly. “I want to go to college well, graduate as soon as possible, in order to help parents send my sisters later.”

Looking at him, it was like seeing myself a few months ago. I was in his position too. Working to fulfill my own life needs. Not only that, I also had to find money to pay for the services of the Foster family. I'm luckier than this girl. Because money came to me so fast. Even though I have to pay a lot of money to do that.

But the men who have been helped with my services, avenge me in a landslide. Sigit not only lost his company, he also could not get a job or business partner anymore because of the work. Why would he want to hear Finley's advice? Has he not learned that he only manipulates?

“Hai, Clarissa darling,” greet a woman when Wendy excursions the toilet.

“Can I sit next to you?” ask him politely.

“Of course, Auntie. Please.” This is his house, his couch, why should he ask me for permission? She's a really polite woman.

“How are you doing now? Have you been able to get used to your new life?” tanyanya gently.

“Already, Aunt. Thank you.” I blushed. “But sometimes I still feel foreign, believe in disbelief, my biological family turns out to be good people.”

“You are a good child, of course you come from a good family.” He nodded slowly. “Do not speak in formal language with me. Talk like you're with your friends or your family. Moreover, we have met often, only rarely chat together.”

“I-iya, Auntie,” I said according to. She wears a perfume that smells soothing. Even though our sitting distance was not close, I could smell the fragrance clearly.

“I heard from Claudia, you are close to a young man from America?” the tanyanya surprised me. Why did Grandma tell Aunt Zahara that?

“Not close, Aunt. Grandma just introduced us,” I said rectify.

“But he said you and he often chat via video call. Claudia even sent me her picture. He's a handsome young man, although he'll never be able to match my presence.” He brought his phone closer to me. There's a picture of Luca there smiling happily.

“You don't get nervous like that. Claudia and I are always open about many things, even personal ones. Don't hesitate just because I'm Hadi's mother. If you are happy with this man, then he is the best for you.” He smiled gently.

“Grandma overrated, Aunt. Luca and I are not close. Yes, we occasionally talk on video calls. But using Grandma's phone. I never spoke to him on his personal number.” I shook my head slowly.

“Lo? Whynot? He's a handsome, intelligent, wealthy young man, and he's his only family heir. The poor young man. She lived so freely, but had to abandon her old habits after her brother died.” Aunt Zahara sighed slowly. “According to Claudia, she fits you perfectly. What makes you not want to be close to him? He's a dreamy young man on his campus. Even the girls there fight for his attention.”

Had she not been Hadi's real mother, I would have considered this a normal conversation. But since she was the mama of my former fiancee, it was a bit sad to hear her talk about another young man with me. Grandma also for what to discuss things that are uncertain to others? Aunt Zahara misunderstood.

“I don't know him, Auntie. I only knew him from a couple of video calls. When another girl can like a young man that way, I don't. Which I meet every day alone, can no longer be close to me.” I immediately poked my lips realizing I was almost lost.

“You were right too. All you see is him through long-distance communication. He could have been a different person when he was near us.” Aunt Zahara nodded her head, a sign of agreement. “Good, we don't talk about men anymore. I have a request and I hope you will help me.”

“What is it, Auntie?” asku want to know, as well as relieved he switched the topic of our conversation.

“I want to make a new novel. Well, I love your life story and interested in making a character with the job.” He looks enthusiastic. “Do you want to tell us a little about your work when you receive clients like Colin?”

“No. Absolutely can't.” Someone answered before I could think about what Auntie Zahara meant.
