I don't know what the young man named Luca was planning, but cancelling a vacation with his family is a strange thing. Even stranger, he lives in Om Edu's house. They are not brothers and their families are not friends either. His parents were friends with Aunt Claudia, but not Aunt Lindsey.
The answer is only one. He did not want to waste his chance to get close to Clarissa. But for what? There are many girls out there who are much richer and prettier than that girl. Why is he after Clarissa?
Had Clarissa shown a slight interest in him, I understand that Luca would not have lost his chance to be close to her. But the girl did not like him even asking others to be his girlfriend in order to escape from the pursuit of the young man.
I still think the possible reason Luca was chasing after Clarissa was unyielding, that girl instead made things complicated. Why did he go so far as to kiss my lips in front of everyone? I call it everyone, because I know Charlotte won't stay quiet and tell her best friend about the incident. Once Dira finds out, it means that everyone will know it too.
Not enough to make my heart waver with her kiss, Clarissa added to my thoughts by saying that she was serious about being my boyfriend. How could a girl who had no feelings for me suddenly be sure of being my lover?
“How long have you and Clarissa been dating?” luca asked as we took a short break for lunch, a few kilometers from the villa. “I can't believe she already has a boyfriend. When we chatted on video calls, he never mentioned you.”
“We just got back together on Saturday. Of course he didn't mention me when he spoke to you,” I said casually.
“You and she don't look like people in love. You're not as intimate as your sister with her boyfriend.” He's laughing a little.
“Clarissa is an independent girl, not spoiled like my sister. That's why we both fit in so well. I was busy with my activities and he didn't demand much attention. Although we are not friendly, it does not mean we do not love each other,” I said do not want to be provoked. “You have been talking about my dear. What was? Don't tell me you're interested in him.”
“You are not married, is there a ban for a man to like an unmarried woman?” challenge him with an arrogant smile.
“He doesn't like you. Then why do you declare your feelings to me?” many confused. “Do you think I feel rivaled? No, Luca. Because Clarissa's heart is only for me. Just try to take him from me. I want to see if Clarissa will turn to you.”
“You know, this confidence of yours I can crush in an instant.” Luca looked at me with confidence. He doesn't know Clarissa. The girl does not fall in love with men easily. I who tried so hard could not tear down the wall of his heart, let alone this young man.
That's why I invited him to come with us. I wanted to prove to him that Clarissa wasn't interested in him. All those closest to us who had approved of our relationship did not make him sure of me, let alone a stranger like Luca.
But as a fellow man who understands the feelings of his fellow man, I am willing to give Luca a chance. She deserves to see for herself what Clarissa felt while being around her. Unfortunately, it didn't happen either. Because Clarissa would not move from my side, I was never far from her either.
Even though I knew that I was playing with fire, I controlled myself as best I could. I didn't touch him excessively and let him take the lead on that one. Because I didn't want her lately to think that I was giving her a chance to be with me again. That's never gonna happen.
I listened to everyone express their hearts as we ate dinner in the tent. Clarissa and I didn't say a word at all. Even when Luca signaled several times that he would take Clarissa away from me, we were silent.
Feeling Clarissa put her head on my shoulder, I didn't say anything. When he wrapped his hands around my arms, I didn't stop him either. After this night is over, there are only three days left to continue this drama, then I am free.
I don't know what the reason she said that she wasn't pretending to be my boyfriend, but I don't want to repeat this with her anymore. I am not a man who can be played as he pleases. Who came when he asked and left when he was expelled.
The atmosphere around me was very quiet. I don't remember what happened, but when I opened my eyes, I was surprised to see no friends around me. As I was about to stretch, I felt someone on my left. I looked over and saw Clarissa sleeping on my shoulder. A blanket covered both of us.
It was only fitting that the door of the tent was closed, the air outside must have been very cold. As if reading my mind, the situation around me suddenly brightened and was followed by a rumbling sound that broke the silence. Then it rained down hard. Clarissa woke up and she looked around us with sleepy eyes. Dira and Adi will receive the reward later. Once they left us alone in the tent.
“I don't know.” I sighed softly.
“How can you not know?” tanyanya's confused.
“I also fell asleep like you,” I said explaining. “Please, release my hand. My body feels crumpled from sitting in the same position for too long.”
Clarissa let go of the handle. He's laughing a little. “This must have been Charlotte and Dira. They can't just one time not fad at you.”
“This is because of you, not me. If we don't pretend like this, they won't use any means to get us back together.” I found two bottles of drinking water, a flask, two mugs, and some chocolate, coffee, and ginger tea sachets, as well as some bread and biscuits on the tray.
“The rain is so heavy. But we can run to the side porch and into the villa. I'm not afraid of lightning, so you don't worry.” Clarissa took off the blanket and tidied up her clothes.
“They have prepared drinks, food, also pillows and blankets. Do you think they didn't plan all this? The porch door must have been locked and they're all done now.” I glanced at my watch. At one in the morning. Damnit. How could I have slept that long without waking up in the slightest? There was no way they could get out of the tent without making a sound.
“I can't believe it. I'll check the door.” Clarissa approached the door of the tent, but I immediately held back her hand that would zip open the door.
“If your body is wet, you have no change of clothes in this tent, Clarissa. Believe this. They locked all the doors so we couldn't get in.” I sent a message to Dira's phone, there's only one tick on the app. I sent the same message to Charlotte's phone, Wyatt, and my best friend Colin. Niente. Even my dear sister Adi also turned off her phone.
“Why can't I contact Charlotte?” ask Clarissa who tried to call her sister again. I could hear the voice of the operator saying that the number was off. He looked at me in disbelief. “You're right. They intentionally did this.”
“You want to drink or eat something?” ask me while pointing at the things that are on the tray. “I'll make ginger tea and eat some biscuits.”
“I also want the tea.” Clarissa sighed softly, then sat down near me. He put his blanket back on. “How can we sleep with the sound of rain as loud as this?”
“After your stomach is filled and the ginger warms your body, you will definitely get sleepy and fall asleep on your own. You need to prepare your energy to face them tomorrow. I will definitely punish my two sisters and my best friend.” I smiled at what I would do to them later.
“You are lucky to have grown up with your family and little friends,” Clarissa said as she received tea from my hands. “You know each other well. I'm still sometimes confused how to behave towards my grandfather, grandmother, and sister.”
“Be as you please. They are your family. If you hurt them, believe me, they will forgive you. Don't be afraid to be yourself with them.”
“You are the only person who can make me comfortable talking about them. I never discussed this with Charlotte. Come to think of it, my friend is just you a.” He had a sad face, making me feel bad.
“You have Wyatt and Colin close to you. In addition, it is also time for you to open up to others. Choose one person you can make your best friend,” I said. “Not everyone is like your college friend or your former adopted sister.”
“Wyatt and Colin prefer to spend their time with their girlfriends. I never shared any personal issues with them either. Only with you.” He put his head on my shoulder. “Can't you really forgive me, Hadi? Can't we go back like we used to?”
“I've forgiven you, Clarissa. Because if I were still holding on to anger, I wouldn't want to sit next to you right now. But to get back together, I've said it many times. That will never happen,” I said firmly.
He lifted his head and looked at me with very serious eyes. “We will definitely be back together. You'll call me Rissa again. I'm not the same Clarissa that ended our relationship, Hadi. I who now will not give up until what I want I get back.”
