He's The Unaffordable

He's The Unaffordable
Chapter 149 - Equating the Plan

Just be right. He asked me not to acknowledge his proposal as an idea from my own head. I never thought about stealing someone else's idea and claiming it was mine. But I didn't want to fight with him in front of everyone, so I promised seriously.

He checked his phone, then put the communication object back in his bag. “Charlotte and Wyatt will pick me up from the restaurant, so you don't have to drive me home.”

“Tell them, I'll take you home,” I said hearing the very impractical idea.

“You sure about that?” his question tested my seriousness.

“Quick call them before I change my mind,” I said half-threatening. He smiled happily and immediately pulled out his phone. I hope I will never regret my thoughtless decision this afternoon.

I took him to a nearby restaurant from the office. I don't want to face traffic jams just for the sake of hearing an idea that isn't necessarily as good as he says. But when he told me what he was thinking, the idea wasn't bad. It's not a fresh idea that's never been done, but I'm sure people passing by will love it. At least, those who have money will stop for a moment to see the attraction.

Clarissa smiled triumphantly when she saw my face. “What did I say? You'll like the idea I'm thinking. Many have done it first. But this idea has not been done for a long time, so people will definitely be interested.”

“I will pass this on to the manager and we wait for a response from him tomorrow,” I said without giving him any hope, but also did not ignore his proposal.

“You seem to be less comfortable working in the marketing department. Is this not a field you like?” he asked when our food was placed in front of each of us.

“I don't like to meet a lot of new people. I prefer to be on the same team and discuss strategies to develop the business,” I replied honestly.

“Because it is in your control, while persuading consumers is not in your dictionary?” guess it exactly. “I agree, but I've been stationed here, so I have to think of something for the good of this division. You should watch a lot of movies that have something to do with marketing. It can give you a lot of ideas.”

“You got that from the movie?” aska I want to know.

“I can't remember. But I know I've seen it somewhere.” He shrugged his shoulders.

“I was only asked to accompany you, not look for ideas to increase sales.” I rejected his proposal to increase knowledge by watching.

“You will be the successor of Om Hendra. Aren't you going to use this opportunity to prove your worth?” his challenge. “I just used this internship to learn from the company Om Hendra so that later could replace Grandpa.”

I'm interested in that topic. “You and Charlotte have agreed to choose which company will lead?”

“Charlotte is officially engaged to Wyatt. I will not separate them by replacing Grandpa. So, I've been focused on preparing myself to continue Grandpa's effort,” he explained. “I don't know how I can handle such a big responsibility. But Grandpa proposes to continue his studies and study again.”

“That's the right proposal. I will also start targeting suitable campuses after graduation later.”

“Not that you will work in your papa company before school again?”

I shook my head slowly. “The sooner I finish my studies, the sooner I work without interruption. This is Papa's proposal. My parents set me free to choose any college. I am interested in studying abroad. Maybe to the UK to learn from Uncle Xavier too.” I've been thinking about it for a long time, but I'm not sure I can go to college there.

“Uncle Xavier?” tanyanya's confused.

“Iya. Papa's best friend and business partner. He's an investor of our garment factory.” He had not known about Uncle Xavier and his family. His other family had met them.

“Continuing studies in the UK, yes. Hm. I'll ask Grandpa if there is enough cost for me to study there later.” He seems to be thinking.

I didn't expect my story to give him that inspiration. “Clarissa,” I said starting to get frustrated. “I went there to study, not date you.”

“I know. That's why I said I was going to college there. Can't I come with you to learn how to do business with Uncle Xavier?” ask her with a beautiful face.

“Your goal is to study there not just to learn. You also want to keep me from getting close to other girls, ‘kan?” manya suspect.

I took a deep breath to calm my suddenly rising emotions. “Clarissa, can't you understand the word no? When do you want to do this? I will not come back to you again. Understand?”

“Once you stop lying to yourself, then I will stop chasing you. When will your heart still love me, and your lips will say otherwise?” he said he didn't want to lose. I opened my mouth to say something. “Do not deny, Hadi.”

“I will not deny or lie. I have no special feelings for you anymore,” I said firmly. “If you keep doing this, I can go numb, Clarissa. It's worse than not having any more affection for you.”

“Good. In that case, you don't mind if I get close to Hardcore, ‘kan?” the tanyanya surprised me. Rigid? What did that man do to her? I didn't know they were close.

“What's with Hardcore?” I asked back.

“At the time surrounding the store as per the group this morning, he was never far from my side. You know what he thinks about our closeness? She thinks I'm a shy girl who's uncomfortable being close to others so I continue to be by your side, my college one friend.” He's laughing a little. “Other friends know that I like you, only he thinks differently.”

“Tegar is a good guy. If you like him too, go ahead. You don't need my permission,” I said indifferently. He smiled meaningfully, a smile that I didn't like.

We did not speak on the way to his house. I didn't stop by and went home as soon as she got into her house. Charlotte and Wyatt would have teased me as much as they did if I had walked in with her.

I can avoid those two annoying creatures, but not with my sister. Dira stood up to greet me on the terrace when I came home. Pak Sakti immediately took over my car to put in the garage, while I braced myself hearing his taunts.

“So, dinner together with Clarissa? That's a very good development, brother,” said Dira with a happy face. “If Big Brother comes home sooner, Big Brother can see the face of Mama who is very happy to hear you guys dating.”

“We are not dating. We were just talking about work and dinner together. No more,” I said firmly. “Charlotte and Wyatt need to talk honestly without adding to things Clarissa didn't mention at all.”

“Most love stories start from dinner together, Kak.” Dira blinked one eye. “Honey, Colin is busy, so we couldn't have dinner together earlier.”

“What is he busy for?” many wonder.

“Because we are getting married at the beginning of next year, she is trying to advance the thesis trial before the end of the year. So, we can prepare the wedding well.”

“He's lucky. I can only touch my script on weekends. That too if we have no family event.” I sighed softly. “How about the first day of your college life?” I asked before he returned to his favorite topic.

“Kakak won't believe this. Reese was very kind to me. Charlotte was dumbfounded to see she could act so sweet. He almost unmasked himself when Wendy came. But he immediately put on his friendly face to Wendy as well.” Dira laughs amusedly. “She definitely didn't suspect that Wendy, the girl she was after to pay for the damages was one class with her.”

“You better be careful and not get stuck on the bait. I can't believe a girl as bad as she can suddenly become a good person,” I said stopping at the end of the stairs.

“She didn't suddenly become a good person, Sister. She is trying to impress me so that her intention to become Big Brother's girlfriend is achieved.” He looked towards the corridor towards his room. “I'm into the room, yeah. Good night, Brother.”

“You still have to be careful, Dira,” I said I do not like to see the attitude of taking it lightly.

“There are two people always watching me, so what else am I worried about? Reese wouldn't waste his money on hiring people to hurt me. Don't forget. He wasn't after me, but Big Brother,” he said reminded. My stomach is sick of hearing it.

“So, you and Hadi are college friends?” tanya Tegar who aligns her steps with Clarissa. “He's a busy man. You can ask me every single thing that has to do with this division. That's why I didn't put you on his team. So, you don't need to be ashamed.”

“Thank you. But my relationship with Hadi is more than a college friend,” Clarissa said. They walked in the back row when the other friends were leading in front. “What Father won't explain something to us? Or we just take a walk to see the collection sold in this store?”

“Your job is to see what's around you, then we'll discuss it later. What was? You're not comfortable walking with me?” ask Hardcore. “Do not worry. Hadi knows you are in the midst of good people, therefore he let you one group with me.” Clarissa just smiled at him.
