He's The Unaffordable

He's The Unaffordable
Chapter 199 - Go for Back

*Clarissa*

Colin and Dira's wedding was the most magnificent wedding I've ever attended. My sister-in-law's candidate was worried that no one from the agency would come. Moreover, he was an incriminating witness at the trial of the lawsuit against Laras. Turns out he was wrong.

There are so many famous people I can only see on television or online who come to congratulate me. Wendy and Lily take advantage of the situation to take a picture with them. I'd rather sit on Hadi's side and not move anywhere.

Even though today was our first Valentine’s Day together, I was already quite satisfied to get a bouquet of red roses from her. Dinner at this reception I consider to be our date. I am happy just to be by his side.

“You sure you don't regret delaying our wedding?” god again.

“If I have to choose between school or getting married, then I prefer to continue my studies. Just one year. We can get married at the end of next year or at the beginning of the next year,” I replied casually. “I have already surpassed your IELTS score. So, no, thank you.” He's laughing a little. “How about you? Are you sure you don't regret it?”

“If I could delay this furore for another year, I would do anything,” he said quickly. This time I laughed. “Do you remember what happened today, one year ago?”

I will never forget that day. “Of course!” We all got together on Dira's birthday and I met Grandpa, Grandma, and Charlotte for the first time. After one mistake, the next DNA test proved that we were a family.

“Not felt already one year, yes,” muttered Hadi slowly. I nodded in agreement.

On graduation day, I sat down with Grandpa and Grandma with pride. I did everything I knew to be able to pay for my life and finish my college without the help of my wicked foster family. Finally, today really came.

I do not celebrate alone, but with my family, friends, and lovers. I never would have thought that all these things I would have. Almost four years ago, I single-handedly took care of myself and my studies. There was no family and I refused to be friends.

Remembering the Foster family, I remembered Reese who had to spend eight years in prison. The Public Prosecutor informed the court of my status as Reese's ill-treated foster sister. His demands were no playfulness, severe persecution and premeditated murder. The police proved all that.

Compared to the time I testified against Finley, I almost wavered when I testified in Reese's trial. I can't hate him even though he's been so mean to me. Even though I was telling the truth in the witness stand, I felt guilty for being the main reason he received such a severe punishment.

But I can no longer feel sorry for him. He would never change if he was always defended every time he made a mistake. Foster's mother cried and knelt down in front of me couldn't change my stance. Not only his father and mother, I also cried as the judge read out the verdict for my former foster sister.

“Rissa .. Halooo, my beloved Rissa,” said one who sat by my side, breaking my daydream. “Finally, you listened to me too. What was? The test was hard?” Hadi smiled cunningly.

I squinted my eyes. How long will he tempt me about my English skills? “That's the easiest test I've ever taken.” I stick my tongue out at him.

“Good. I'm tired of studying. From today we can relax a little. Once the results come out, we can apply for the campus we are looking for.” He extended his hand to me.

I accepted it and stood up from my seat. “Are you going to see Colin and your basketball playmates?” I asked as she held my hand towards the exit of the examination hall.

“Who will exercise on such a hot afternoon, Rissa?” He shook his head.

“What does that mean I can take you to lunch and watch with me?” askaku expectantly. “I don't want to go home so soon. Charlotte and Wyatt must be out for a walk. I don't want to be alone at home.”

“Therefore I will ask you out.” He opened the car door for me. I hugged her while cheering her happily.

We came out of the parking lot of the institution that held our new English proficiency exam. Not all universities make the certificate of examination a requirement, but Om Hendra and Uncle Xavier demand that we get a certain score then we can apply to the campus we want. Of course Hadi and I will apply to the same university.

Our time after completing the thesis was up for study. Almost three months passed, we could breathe a sigh of relief. About two weeks away our test results came out, so we had fourteen days to relax. I'm not worried about the result, because I know that score must have been achieved.

“You hope to meet someone here?” tanya Hadi read my mind.

I shook my head slowly. “We often meet someone unintentionally. I thought there would be no one in this place who knows us.”

“There's a friend of mine in the right corner with her family. It's natural to meet people we know. We are in a public place,” he said casually.

After lunch, we bought popcorn and drinks before going into the studio. I was surprised to see that there were so many seats filled. Whereas when buying tickets, this studio is the quietest. It turns out that there are also many fans.

“Kak Hadi? Clarissa?” said someone sitting near our two empty seats. Hadi and I simultaneously saw the owner of the voice, because we knew him. She's the only woman who wears sunglasses and a mask in this place.

“Dira??” ask us simultaneously. “Colin??” we saw the young man sitting by his side.

“Haaii!” They both waved to us. “This is a cool coincidence once!” exclaim Dira happy. “We have no appointments, but we watch the same movie in the same place and seat next to.”

“Please your voice, Dira. You attract the attention of many people.” Hadi invited me to sit by his sister's side and he was next to me.

Hadi's right. We were in a public place, it was only natural to meet people we knew. But meeting her brother and best friend was a surprise. Moreover, their residence was not close to this place. Our Sunday night was so much fun. After watching, we went to the park together to enjoy grilled corn and warm drinks.

Seeing that Dira and Colin's interaction had not changed, I could imagine that my relationship with Hadi would not change much later either. They kept talking as quietly as usual, not touching excessively, but I could feel their relationship was much more intimate than before.

As if knowing I was going far away, Charlotte slept with me almost every night in my room. I just sent out a proposal and have not yet received an answer. We shared stories of funny things, as well as our dreams and plans going forward. Every time he fought with Wyatt, he would pour out his feelings for me. So do I.

Since Hadi used his time to work at his papa company, then I also went to Grandpa's office. For the first time, I saw Grandfather working and leading his subordinates directly. I'm getting more and more impatient to go back and work full-time at that company.

Although Grandpa and Om Hendra's company did not cooperate in business, I did not hesitate to help Hadi. He still likes to ask my opinion about promotional activities that are suitable to be done on weekends. He talks at length every time he talks about work, so I don't mind exchanging ideas about it. I take this as preparation. Someday, this will be my daily topic.

“How?” charlotte asked impatiently. The four of them sat in front of me with curious faces. Grandpa and Grandma also listened in on video calls.

I couldn't say anything because I was moved by the announcement I was reading on my laptop screen. Just being able to finish my studies I'm very happy. But I got one more big chance. I was accepted into the university I applied for!

My whole family cheered happily. They took turns hugging and kissing me congratulating. Hadi uses inappropriate timing when making video calls. Wyatt's turn to hug and kiss my cheek congratulated me. He spoke so kindly to my family, but kept me quiet for a week.

Grandma and Charlotte took me to various stores to buy my things while I was in London. Cold clothes and jackets to taste, because my college will start in September. A few days before departure, the chef prepared a variety of durable foods for me. So, my suitcase is half full of clothes, while the other half is full of food.

The airport was filled with the cries of my family and friends and Hadi. Mothers who can't resist their haru. The fathers tried to toughen up even though I could see threatening tears coming out of their eyes. We've been hours together since we checked in and gave away our luggage at the counter, but they still heavily left us.

“I'm so proud of you, baby,” Grandpa said as he gave his last hug. “You have only been with us for one year, but want to learn a lot for our family company. Don't force yourself there. Go home with your head raised, no matter what your studies.”

I laughed when I heard it. I know he means well. “I will not fail, Grandpa. I'll go home with knowledge and supplies so I'm ready to replace Grandpa. My diploma will be my birthday present to Grandpa.”

Hadi took my hand as we returned to the departure terminal to the waiting room. I don't look back anymore. My steps will get heavier when I see tears on their faces. I'm only gone for a few months. Nothing like what happened when I was a kid with my parents. I will definitely go home to my family.
