Hadi sighs in relief. “I think you're hurt,” he said slowly. He pulled out his phone and opened the screen before sticking it into his ear.
“You where?” tanyakanya. I'm sure he called one of our sisters. He looked in front of us, then asked me to walk again. “We came.”
“Hadi, did you not listen to me?” I was a little panicked when he put his phone back in his pants pocket. “The bracelet is gone. Must have been the young man who took it.”
“It's okay. I'll buy you a new one. We're just gonna waste our time chasing him. He must have a syndicate here. Even if we managed to catch him, the bracelet must have been passed to his partner.” Stop in front of a restaurant.
What he said made sense. But I liked the bracelet because he gave it to us on our engagement day. Other bracelets would not be as meaningful compared to those bracelets. I should have been careful. How could I not realize that someone had deliberately come near and hit me? He must have done that a lot until I didn't realize he took the bracelet out of my hand.
The waiter who greeted us at the door led us to the table where Charlotte and our sisters were. Looks like he or Wyatt already booked the place because it's impossible we can get the table to see all the places are already filled by other visitors.
This restaurant must be very famous. Hopefully because of the good food. Hadi helped me sit down before he sat by my side. The four of them looked at us meaningfully. Charlotte even bluntly looked at my face intently.
“You guys from where? If you want to be alone, we don't mind eating four of you here. You can go somewhere else to get to know each other.” Charlotte berdehem.
“Stop thinking about things that are none of your business, Charlotte. I don't kiss your sister when that's what your look on her face means.” Hadi opened the menu book that was in front of him. Both of our sisters just laughed.
“Clarissa, where's your bracelet?” asked Dira who was looking towards my left wrist. Others are looking in the same direction.
“There was a man who accidentally hit me and I was not aware he took the bracelet.” I touched my hand that felt empty without the jewels again.
“Oh. Ii'm sorry. This mall should be a safe place. I did not know there would be visitors who did that bad,” said Charlotte felt bad.
“No need to be in trouble. I'll replace it with a new one. If necessary, we can go to one of the jewelry stores here and buy the same bracelet.” Hadi raised his hand to attract the attention of one of the servants. “I'm hungry. We'd better order food now.”
As soon as the waiter stood by our table, we called out our respective orders. The bracelet issue was forgotten and we talked about a light topic. Wyatt reveals his engagement plan to Charlotte, which makes Dira cheer. We then discussed what movies we would watch after lunch.
We were enjoying food when Hadi's phone shook and he spoke seriously with his father. He glanced at me several times with a frown. From what he said, it seemed like Om Hendra was asking about me.
“Papa say what?” tanya Dira was impatient as soon as Hadi put his phone on the table.
“Papa asked why Clarissa was not far from this place, but you were ready to have lunch together. I'm a little confused by that question because Rissa's here with us. When Papa explained, I understood. There's a tracker on the bracelet and Papa thinks someone kidnapped Rissa.”
Tracker on the bracelet? I touched my wrist. Oh, that's why Grandpa told me not to take this bracelet off. They had a tracker in it. My chest feels warm aware of everyone's attention. They must have done this so that I wouldn't go far from my family.
“Wow. I didn't know that the matter that had to do with Clarissa was very serious. It's fair Grandpa said the bracelet should not be released. I thought Grandpa was just teasing Clarissa, turns out she was serious with that sentence.” Charlotte took my hand. “What is Grandpa and all our parents worried that bad guy will kidnap Clarissa again?”
“As long as Finley hasn't been captured, we won't be able to calm down. Even if he went to jail, he could still pay people to do whatever he ordered. So, this is what our parents can think of to prevent Rissa from being kidnapped again,” Hadi replied.
“What did he see me that made him dislike me being close to my family?” many confused. I touched my free hand.
“We'll take care of you, so don't worry about anything. Don't let Finley win by freaking you out every time you do something. Our families always look after each other, Rissa. When something bad happens to you, trust me. We must be looking for you as hard as we can,” said Hadi promised. “Forget Finley and finish your food. Today we intend to have fun.”
“I've booked our watch tickets and thanks again, I got a separate place so you can be alone with your respective partner.” Adi showed us his phone screen where there were three pairs of points that were not far apart. Our seating position in the cinema.
Charlotte and Wyatt paid our meal bill which was no joke. A man came up to Hadi as we were about to stand up. He handed something to her hand and said it was a deposit from her papa. Hadi thanked me, then asked me to bring my left hand closer. My eyes were round, happy to see the bracelet again adorning my wrist.
Because my sister and her boyfriend paid for our lunch, Hadi bought the drinks and snacks we bought to enjoy while watching. We sat in pairs for sure because Adi couldn't get a seat where we could be together on one row. The studio we entered was full of spectators and not a single seat was empty.
“What is this film so famous that many watch?” I whispered to Hadi. He's laughing a little. “What's up? What's so funny?”
“This superhero movie, Rissa. Of course there are many fans. Adi could not have bought us if not for this is his favorite genre.” He offered his corn to me. I can't see it. “What's up?”
“We just had lunch and you're hungry again?” I just don't believe it.
“That was an hour ago. Did you forget you guys used a long time in the toilet doing what?” said sarcasm. I laughed amusedly.
“The man who delivered this bracelet, who is he? The guy who follows me wherever I go?” I also remember the man who approached her at the restaurant.
“Not. He's Papa's friend's man. They must have taken this bracelet from the thief.”
“Then, they didn't bring the thief to the police station. Because the proof is here.” I looked at him confused.
“There are many ways to make a deterrent criminal break the law, Rissa. Prison is not the only place to punish criminals,” he said casually. I don't care how they punish the man. This bracelet is back, that's all that matters.
“Do you like spending time with your sisters on weekends?” ask me to shift the subject.
“Only if we have no other activities. We don't usually have time together like this. Dira is busy with her work as a model on weekends, while Adi likes to accompany Papa and Mama to the events they attend. She likes to eat good food.”
“Aah, that's why Dira wears a hat and glasses to camouflage her face.” I forgot that she's a famous teenage model.
We had a casual chat where I asked more and she answered my question honestly. I love the way he calls my name. He's the only one who calls me by the name of Rissa. Everyone even my own family called me by my first name and did not make any special nicknames.
“I love you calling me by the name of Rissa,” I said slowly.
He looked at me with a smile on his face. “Rissa, Rissa, are you starting to fall for me?” I coughed, choking on hearing that sentence. “You said like.”
“I love that call, I didn't say I love you,” I said quickly. He's laughing a little. “I don't mind paying for a vacation with us, but I won't lose to you in this bet, Hadi.”
Since the lights were slowly extinguished which indicated that the movie was about to start, she simply smiled and did not respond to my words anymore. Fall in love. I know what love is to the opposite sex, but I've never felt it. All this time I had no time to think about anything other than finding my real family.
The movies we watched were great with conflict-ridden storylines, lots of high-tech scenes, and good music. No wonder there are so many people watching this movie. From the faces of those around me and from what they discussed with the friend next to him, they also looked satisfied.
We walked to the exit with the other audience. Wyatt and Adi walked in front of us and did not stop exchanging opinions about the film. I laughed when they had a heated argument. Can't they wait until we're away from the crowd to discuss the movie?
“Hai, Hadi.” A girl was standing in front of us so Hadi and I had to stop. “Did you just watch this movie?” He pointed towards the movie poster we just watched with his finger, but his eyes were staring at me sharply.
What's up with him? I didn't know him, but why did he look at me as if I had just made a big mistake?
