He's The Unaffordable
Chapter 120 - Event Preparation

Clarissa turned her hand so that the man's hand grip slipped off. She intended to walk past him, the man instead hugged her. He must have been just rejected by a beautiful girl. I just shook my head to see it. Stupid guy.

He and his friend became the moons of Clarissa who casually hit, slapped, even made the two of them collide with each other. They complained of pain and finally gave up by running up the ridge towards me. I purposely straightened my legs so they tripped and fell.

Men are shameless. Dare to hurt a woman, then run away without apologizing. I pulled their collar and told them to go back to the girl to apologize. They still protested, so I raised my fist. One of them asked for mercy and was willing to do my wish.

I pretended to approach an empty lounge chair, but my gaze was fixed on the two men. They kept their word and apologized to Clarissa. Goody. His name was a real man.

The girl swam on one side of the pool, so I chose the other side so that we would not meet or cross paths while swimming. Even though he was wearing a swimsuit, I did not look at his body excessively. I'm used to training myself to respect women no matter what kind of clothes they wear.

After swimming a few laps and I started to feel tired, I got out of the pool and returned to the lounge chair where my towel and my coat were. Clarissa was standing by waiting for me to arrive. I raised my eyebrows seeing the way he looked at me.

“You don't have to do that. I can solve my own problems.” He frowned, expressing his dislike.

“Thank you is enough. I didn't do it for you, but for my sister, Dira. If they are left to do as they please to a girl, they will become more and more. I don't want my sister to be the victim.” I put on my bathing coat, then used a towel to dry my hair.

“Following a girl to the pool is also not a good action,” he said do not want to lose.

“Don't big head. I didn't come here because I followed you.” I turned around and walked towards the door. He followed by walking by my side. “Who now follows whom? Please, keep your distance from me.”

“Our room is in the same hallway, so I am not following you,” he said casually. I don't respond to him anymore.

We cross paths with Colin and Dira as well as Wyatt and Charlotte as we exit the elevator. They smiled meaningfully, while Wyatt whistled to see we were together. I just ignored their behavior and headed for my room.

The old men had joined also in the dining room as I followed to enjoy the snacks. Clarissa hasn't come yet, so I'm not surprised to see two side-by-side chairs that they purposely left for us. I took a full plate of snacks, then sat down with them.

I eat while listening to them talk. The topic discussed was about preparing for the wedding anniversary of Om Brady and Aunt Dafhina. The parents mentioned some of the tasks we needed to choose which we could do to help. Me and my two male friends volunteered to prepare the wood for the campfire.

Clarissa joined us, Aunt Darla told her what we had been talking about. He also asked her to make preparations with Dira and Charlotte. The girl immediately agreed. The conversation regarding the preparation for tomorrow's event ended, everyone chatting with the people nearby.

Since the person sitting next to me was an insignificant person, I chose to be quiet. As soon as the food on my plate ran out, I went back to pick up some cookies and bread. Swimming increases appetite.

“I know you're not comfortable with the attitude of everyone who wishes you and Clarissa were back together. But you should not behave as if the girl is a dangerous disease, ‘kan?” said Colin who stood by my side, filling the plate with cake.

“Dira didn't behave that way when you were separated?” He closed his lips. “Then what's wrong if I behave the same? You've never been by my side, so you won't understand.” I'm back at our table, though I'd love to get out of this place soon.

Preparations for Aunt Dafhina's wedding anniversary began in the morning. We decorated one side of the hotel grounds with ribbons and flowers. Papa chose to use a round table rather than a square one in order to fit more seats.

Me, Wyatt, and Colin went to buy wood for the campfire and firewood for the barbecue that became the main menu. Aunt Darla has ordered meat, seafood, and vegetables to the hotel's subscription food supplier. So, just add our groceries beyond the need for restaurant groceries.

All preparations were completed as soon as the afternoon snack arrived. We relaxed enjoying warm drinks and snacks before going to each room to get ready. Since this was just an ordinary campfire event, I wore a t-shirt and long jeans.

Only the waiter who was pacing back and forth delivered the cooked food to the serving table when I entered the hotel grounds. The air was getting cold, so this was a good time for a campfire. According to the weather forecast, tonight is cloudy, so we don't have to worry about rain ruining the event.

“I don't know what's going on, but everyone is like trying to give us plenty of opportunities to be together.” Clarissa walked out the door to the yard. I ignored him again. “Charlotte has been out of the room since, but she has not arrived here.”

I've realized that from the beginning, when did he realize it now? After Charlotte and Wyatt, and Colin and Dira got back together, it was only natural that everyone thought the same thing would happen to us. Therefore they strive for all these irregularities.

“Are you going to act like an enemy to me until the next day, Hadi? Are you still mad at me so be friends with me you don't want to?” asked Clarissa who was standing next to me. I sighed softly, then moved away from her. I hope he understands that I don't want to talk to him.

“We will continue to meet in the events held by your parents, my grandparents, as well as their friends. Do you think being like this will make them happy?” he said again that seemed to deliberately provoke me.

“Why don't you think about that before ending our engagement unilaterally?” manya.

“I've asked you to get us back together,” he replied quickly.

“To pretend that your new boyfriend isn't approaching you anymore, I already answered no,” I said reminding him. She's pouting. “I'll talk to him about your worries, but not by pretending to be your girlfriend.”

“I—” said Clarissa who was cut off when we heard a hissing sound that sounded close enough. We looked towards the direction of the sound. I looked at my feet, then at Clarissa's feet, and toward her back. Then I saw the beast. A snake was creeping slowly approaching the girl from behind her.

Meanwhile in a room~

“Are you sure you'll do this, baby?” mason asked his wife.

“Of course. Luca is a good young man, comes from a distinguished, handsome family, and we have known his parents for a long time. Clarissa and Hadi have no intention of getting back together, so what are we still hoping for in their relationship?” Claudia walked back and forth from the clothing room to her room. Clothes by clothes he put in a suitcase.

“But, dear, Clarissa seems uncomfortable with your plan. He broke off the relationship with Hadi whom he already knew well. I'm not sure she'll fall in love with the newly-known Luca over the phone,” Mason said.

Claudia stopped her work and turned her head towards her husband. “If Clarissa isn't interested in him later, no problem, dear. At least, I've been trying to find the best husband for her. Just look at Charlotte and Wyatt. They are now happily together after a misunderstanding between them is resolved.” Claudia smiled happily.

“We've known Wyatt and his parents for a long time. Luca we've only known for the past few weeks. Those are two different things, dear.” Mason still looks worried.

“I know why you said this.” Claudia held her husband's hand and invited him to sit on the side of the bed. “You're still worried, because Clarissa was taken from us for a dozen years. Honey, we'll keep a good look after him. No one will be able to take him anymore from us.”

Mason sighed sadly. “Hopefully you are right. After Wyatt's betrayal, I don't know who else we can trust in this world
