He's The Unaffordable
Chapter 42 - The Second Test

*Mila*

Charlotte is a fun girl. His style of speech was blunt, but he did not mean evil. In addition to Hadi, it turns out there are also those who like to talk frankly without thinking about the feelings of others.

Clarissa is very lucky. She has a family that loves her, and a lovely sister. I understand that there are people who envy her that separate her from them. Who wouldn't want to live in a family that behaves this warmly?

“Mila, come.” Hadi touched my shoulder. I looked towards him. Is it time to go home? I look around us. There are no other guests. There are only five of us. “Not to there.” Hadi prevented me from walking towards the front door.

Dira, Charlotte, and Wyatt walked in front of us towards a room. All the adults who met me on Dira's birthday were in that sitting room. A woman smiled and patted an empty spot by his side. I did not immediately come closer and looked towards Hadi. He smiled as he nodded his head.

I knew that woman was Aunt Lindsey, while the woman sitting not far from her was Aunt Claudia. She looked at me with teary eyes. The color of her hair and eyes was exactly the same as mine, but our faces were not as similar as those of twins. My face looks more like Aunt Abby. I decided to call them like Hadi called them.

“Hai, Mila,” greet Aunt Zahara, Mama Hadi. “I represent my best friends, Lindsey and Claudia, because they won't be able to talk without crying. Earlier, we apologized for doing something without your permission. Hadi must have told me that you look a lot like Claudia's daughter, as well as Lindsey's daughter-in-law.” I nodded slowly.

“We do not believe in the results of the first test, so we hope to do a second test with your knowledge. But we won't force you if you don't want this. We—” said Aunt Zahara tried to explain, but I can't wait.

“I'm ready,” my fast. “Please, I'm sorry, but I'm already very curious and this is very disturbing. I've never been this close to anyone who might be my family. I don't want to wait any longer. Anytime you need a sample from me, I'm willing.” They were all silent, before they laughed amusedly.

“What I said, she is a smart girl. He must have immediately agreed to do this test,” said the woman with the same hair and eyes as me. He can understand me because Aunt Lindsey translated every sentence we had for him. “Ayo, please. Do your job.”

A well-dressed man and woman I didn't know, approached me and Aunt Claudia. Hadi and Adi put a chair in front of us so they could sit down. They took a sample of my blood and Aunt Claudia, then walked out of the room.

My heart was pounding quickly, hopefully anxious with the second test. Will the result be different or the same? If the result is still negative, then something is wrong with the person doing the test. There is no way that I and the woman sitting by my side have any blood relation.

“They are my confidants that I brought directly from our lab in America. Hendra had already borrowed some of the equipment they would need to conduct the test. I can't believe anyone could manipulate a test result this important. But if it is true that you are Clarissa, then those involved will get the punishment that is worth.” Aunt Claudia touched my hand, then looked at me intently. “You look a lot like my daughter. Only different eye and hair color.”

“Say, is it true that you have lived in Parapat?” tanyanya slow. I looked towards Hadi. He just kept quiet and did not respond.

“Iya.” I looked towards Aunt Claudia again.

“We've been on vacation there and I saw your little version girl. Tell me, do you remember being chased by a woman who called you by the name of Clarissa? If I'm not mistaken, the location is around the port when we will cross.”

“I am often chased by people who wrongly suspect me as a thief. But I can't remember if I was ever chased and called Clarissa.” I try to remember.

“Then, is there another girl there whose physical features are the same as yours?”

“No. That's why I'm considered weird. I also feel strange with my hair, eyes, and skin color that is different from those around me.”

“Poor girl. You were supposed to be around this city, why did you get there? Is it possible that someone deliberately kidnapped you after surviving the deadly accident?” ask Aunt Claudia in a sad tone. “Who would do this bad?”

“Do you know a man named Colton Jones?” I was so reminded of the man who claimed to be my real father. They exchanged looks.

“We know a man named Colton, as well as those who have the surname Jones, but none of these are a combination of the two names. What was? Who is he?”

“Don't worry, Son. Hadi told me everything. My friend is investigating who that man is. From the information you gave me, I also just told him to find out about the woman named Hannah who the man recognizes as his wife and Mila Meredith Jones, his missing daughter, who is,” says Om Hendra.

“The story of his missing daughter is very convincing. But after I thought about it, I found a lot of awkwardness. If he's really looking for me, why doesn't anyone care about me walk around in the crowd? Police usually put up photos of missing children in several strategic places. As I recall, I never saw my posters everywhere,” I said trying to remember.

“As I said, I'm very unique. It's easy to find me when my parents are really looking for me. That's why Hadi's story makes more sense. It's only natural my family can't find me. They don't know where I am. And it is impossible for this many people to lie about the same event.” I swept my eyes.

Some of them looked at me with sadness, pity, hope, love, a gaze commonly given by those who have known us. Not a look as intimidating, scaring, and coercive as the man did.

“Do you remember the man's face?” ask the man sitting near Aunt Claudia. I looked at him confused. “Ah, I'm Mason, Claudia's husband.” Oh.

“If there is a picture of him, I can recognize him. Ng, he is quite tall, but not as tall as Hadi. His hair is dark brown, his eyes are green, his nose is pointed, his lips are thin, and he has a tattoo on his left neck. I didn't see clearly the picture of the tattoo.” I tried to remember all the physical features I saw that night.

“Tato?” uncle Mason said slowly. He pulled out his phone, then looked around for something by moving his thumb over the screen. “Is this him?” The man gave me his phone.

I received it and saw a picture of a man on his screen. That face, his eyes, I won't forget it, because we just met. I turned towards Uncle Mason before giving a response. “Iya. There goes. The man who said I look like his late wife.”

“His name is not Colton Jones and he is not married.”

“I really don't understand,” said Will with a surprised face.

Colin turned to his father for a moment before looking back at the road before him. “What does Dad mean?” tanyakanya.

“You dated Mila, then now the girl is with Hadi. What game are you guys showing in front of us parents?” will asked confusedly.

“Darling, Colin is not serious about Mila. Do you still need to be told about it? He only used the girl to make Dira jealous and cut off their relationship. If Colin was serious with Mila, he would have introduced her to us before to others,” Gista said helping her son answer.

“So you will keep lying to me? Until when are you going to keep confessing that Mila is your boyfriend every time I ask about your relationship?” will's protest.

“I'm sorry, Dad.” Colin sighed softly. “I have to keep on playing so that Dira believes that my relationship with Mila is serious.” Lily snorted loudly hearing it.

“You have spoken well with Mr Mahendra about your relationship with Dira, ‘kan? Did he accept your apology?” ask Gista to know. “I love my job and I don't want to lose it because of you, Colin.”

“I'm sorry, Ma, Dad. I don't apologize to them for ending my relationship with Dira. I invited them to talk and apologized so that they would allow me to approach their daughter again.”

“WHAT?” yell the three of them together.
