*Clarissa*
Once Hadi was honest with his feelings, this world felt very beautiful. He loves me and doesn't care about my flaws. He accepted me for who I was. I knew the doctor had confirmed that my blindness was only temporary, but Hadi promised that this would not affect anything, including his feelings for me.
I know that I didn't choose men wrong. Hadi is a good young man. He was angry with me because he hurt his heart. That's the only reason she keeps rejecting my love. He doesn't want to get hurt anymore. When she said hurtful words, I knew that she was deliberately trying to keep me away. Thank goodness I didn't give up. He is mine again.
“Halo, dear,” greet Hadi when answering incoming calls from me.
“Try guess what I'm doing?” ask him.
He murmured softly, showing that he was thinking. “Lying on your bed?”
“I am sick, but I can still do something with one hand and one leg, Hadi,”. Hearing that he was silent, I answered my own question. “I cooked your favorite chrysanthemum using a secret recipe from grandma Colin.”
“Oh, yes? How's it feel? Is it good?” tanyanya wants to know.
“Why don't you come and try it yourself?” I said give him a signal to meet me at home. Ever since I got home from the hospital, she never came to see me again.
“I'm sorry. The lecturer asked me to come tomorrow morning to campus. He's going out of town for a week, because of research. I don't want to wait that long to discuss the problem in my script, dear.” He was just looking for an excuse. “I'll come tomorrow after work, yes. What do you want me to bring?”
“You don't love me anymore. You just love your script. Yesterday you banned me from attending the show that Dira was following, and today you don't want to try the croak I made. You don't have to come tomorrow or until anytime!” pekiku. I immediately cut off the phone before changing my mind.
“Wow!” charlotte came from my left. He must have taken one croisan from the serving plate, because I heard the sound of movement. I allowed him and Wyatt to take their share off the plate. The Hadi section is inside a small basket specifically for bread. But he has already rejected his share. “You already know that for Hadi, education, family, and company it is his top priority. You didn't mind before. What makes you so angry?”
“Today is Sunday. Was I wrong to ask that today he just provide for me? I'm not asking for all day, just a few hours.” My phone shook on the table, I ignored it.
“You know he won't stop calling you. So, you better answer that call,” Charlotte reminded. I hate it every time he's right.
“What else is it!?” I said annoyed at the guy across the phone. I know that my attitude is excessive. But I have the right to ask for a moment. He could come see me every day while I was in the hospital. Why is it that after I get home, he doesn't come anymore?
“I love you, baby,” Hadi said in a persuasive tone. “I beg. Don't upset. I'll definitely come see you tomorrow. I finish my script, and then for the next week, I'll see you before I go home. How?”
“Not necessary. I only ask for a few hours, not every day. Please work on your script.” I cut off the phone again. “If he calls again, just turn off my phone.” I brought the basket with the croissants of Hadi's section closer to Wyatt. “All this is for you.”
“You're the best, Clarissa!” Wyatt chuckled happily. I heard the basket slide towards him. “Often-often make a croisan, yes. It's so delicious!”
I just frowned and moved the button on my right hand to move the wheelchair. What's the point of having a boyfriend when I need him, he'd rather spend time with inanimate objects instead. I don't want to fight attention with the script.
Grandfather had already provided a chair for me to get to the second floor by myself. I stood up, and then moved to sit on the chair that would take me to the second floor. Another wheelchair was already available upstairs, where I left it last time. I recognize every corner of the house, so moving to and fro is not difficult. Moreover, my eyesight is getting better. I can distinguish between shadows of people and things.
I can only look at my laptop sadly. How can I type using only one hand? I have used the application typing with sound, but the error that occurs is more than when I type with one hand only. I also couldn't possibly stare at the screen so closely just to read the letters one by one.
My guidance counselor has returned the second chapter I'm working on that was marked. There are some parts that I need to improve and there are many theories that I need to add. He left my script to Charlotte. The problem is only one. I couldn't type anything my lecturer asked me to do.
Hungry stomach. I cooked so many croissants with the help of Charlotte and Wyatt, but I haven't tasted my homemade croissants yet. Going back down to the dining room, I don't want to be upset anymore about Wyatt and Charlotte's behavior. My door was knocked, I just ignored it.
I turned my body towards the window when it opened. Wouldn't look at the person who came into my room without permission. He didn't say anything so I couldn't guess who came. The masculine scent of the cologne immediately entered my olfactory as he sat by my side. My heart jumped happily knowing that it was Hadi.
But I refrained from looking back or hugging her body. He said no, so why did he come after I got angry? I smell a still warm croisan. He must have brought a basket containing his share of croissants.
“What are you coming for?” I didn't take that compliment.
“My darling made me a nice croisan,” she replied casually.
“Just do your script. No need to care about me.” Damn, my stomach is using the wrong time to sound. The smell of the bread made my stomach feel hungry.
Hadi laughed a little. “Eat, baby. You must have been tired of cooking this much chrysanthemum, then scolded me over the phone.” He brought the bread basket closer to me. I followed and took one of the chrysanthemums that turned out to be still warm.
We eat in silence. The thing I am grateful for, because I was too embarrassed after my stomach opened my secret. So annoying. But Hadi did not laugh or care about the incident. He just ate three chrysanthemums in a row. Until I get only one part.
“What is your thesis that needs to be repaired that is near the laptop?” tanyakanya. I nodded slowly. “I'm done revising my double chapter. You must have difficulty typing with the condition of your eyes and hands. From tomorrow I will help you. Just tell me what I need to type, that way your script can be quickly finished.”
“So, you plan to come home every day to do that?” many surprised.
“Iya. Charlotte and Wyatt must have started some schoolwork. I won't do anything before the lecturer finishes checking my script, so I'll just help you,” he said.
“Thank you, Hadi!” I hugged him tightly. “Sorry, I was already mad at you before listening to your explanation.”
“It's okay. I have to get used to it, so, aw!” He immediately complained as I pinched his arm. “Newly apologize, why have you pinched me again?”
“You must want to mock me, ‘kan? I don't want to hear.” I let go of my embrace. He pulled my hand and hugged me again. Feeling that, I smiled happily.
“Rissa,” call her slowly. I murmured to answer. “There are important things I need to tell you.” He loosened his arms, so I was forced to do the same.
Hearing him just shut up, I frowned. “What's up, Hadi? Did something bad happen to your family? Dira ridden by people again?”
“No.” He held both of my hands but again he just kept quiet. Why is he acting so weird? Does he have bad news that has anything to do with him?
“Darling, say what's up? If I could, I would definitely help you,” I said persuading. “Is there any work business I can help you with? Are you thinking about your next promotion?”
He's still quiet. When I thought he didn't want to talk yet, he said in a soft voice, “I haven't told you what happened on Tuesday.”
“Didn't you meet an old friend, so our dinner with your family was postponed?” ask me to remember the contents of the message that afternoon. He was silent for a long time making me feel worried. “Honey, just say it. Whatever it is I'll try to help you.”
“You believe that I love you, ‘kan?” tanyanya slow. I nodded slowly. “You also believe that I will not do something intentionally to hurt you, ‘kan?”
“Iya. You scared me, Hadi. Just tell me what's wrong,” urges me to be impatient.
“I can't remember what happened that day. The last thing I remember was that after meeting Colin, I went to the car and was very sleepy. Then when I opened my eyes, I was in a hotel room.” He stopped talking again.
My heart is beating fast. A hotel room and not being able to remember what happened is not a good mix. Charlotte and I watched a lot of movies about similar cases. He doesn't have to say it. I can already guess what happened.
“No need to continue, Hadi. I know what you want to say,” I said cut when I saw him so hard to say the next sentence. “You slept with a girl.”
“I didn't plan that. Really am! A-i ...” He sighed in frustration. “The decision is now in your hands. I resigned you will do what on our relationship.”
