He's The Unaffordable

He's The Unaffordable
Chapter 37 - Secrets

As good sisters, Dira and Adi did not say anything when they saw Mila sitting in the front seat beside the driver. They greeted him kindly. Let Colin know the taste. She's the only one my sister doesn't like.

Seeing Dira no longer carrying the box containing the fake love letter, it turns out the culprit is not as determined as I thought. Schoolchildren today still shyly declare love, very unreasonable. Especially with love letters. There is already something more advanced, why use such an ancient way?

“That's because they want to insinuate the young man who gave me a love letter the first time.” Dira rolled her eyeballs. “Poor. To this day the young man did not dare to show his face again in front of me.”

“How can you know?” I glanced at him through the front mirror.

“I finally know which class she is from and talk to her nicely. We'll split up after the final exam later, so I don't want to leave a bad impression.”

“No one will dare to think ill of you, Dira. Just chill. Me and Papa will always protect you.”

“I too,” protest Adi because her name is not mentioned. “I will also always protect Kak Dira.”

“Wait for you to wear new trousers talk protect. You are still a child, it is Dira who protects you more,” taunted me. Wendy and Dira giggled.

“Just a few more months I will be an SMU student. Anyway tomorrow I even turned fifteen years old, already deserve to be the keeper of Kak Dira,” said Adi again do not want to lose.

“What's got a brother always this fun?” ask Mila to Dira.

“Do not believe their acting. This good attitude is only they do in front of you. When we were just three, their attitude towards me was very bad,” said Dira dramatizing.

After dropping off Wendy and my two sisters, we picked a nearby cafe to talk to. Since my stomach was already hungry, I chose to order the food that was on the main menu. Mila did the same. Colin followed later. I was forced to sit by Mila's side, because the chair wasn't enough to hold both of us.

Since Colin's problem was more urgent, he spoke first. He put some photos on the table that I immediately recognized. The woman in the photo is Mama, and the man with her is Vivaldo. As far as I know, all these photos have been destroyed, so why did they reach his hands? That man could die if Papa knew this.

“So, Vivaldo and Nora meet you and show you this photo, and then you foolishly pretend to be the hero of misfortune by obeying all their words? You broke off with my sister in this ridiculous way to convince them that Dira would never accept you back?” I said concluding after hearing the story.

“Why do you say I'm stupid and silly?” ask Colin offended. “I'm trying to save your family's reputation. Because if Aunt Zahara gets humiliated in public, Dira will also be very sad.”

“You are stupid, because this case is long gone. They're just taking advantage of your innocence. I also have my two sisters know about Mama's past with the man in this photo. You're ridiculous, for just believing in bad people. What makes you so sure they'll stop here? If they're after Dira, then they already have other plans once their business with you is done.” I held my voice even though my anger had reached the crown. Why did he just tell me about this now?

“Other plans?” Colin seemed to be thinking hard. “It looks like you were right. I remember the woman talking about her next move. They talked to another young man after I left our meeting place. But I don't know who that young man is.”

I immediately pulled out my phone and showed the face of the man we thought had something to do with the accident Dira had experienced. “Is this the one?”

Colin stared at my phone screen carefully, then shook his head slowly. “Not. He's younger than this. Maybe the same age as Dira, not with us.”

“I'll talk to Papa about this. It seems like Adi and I should be careful as well. We don't know if they're just after Dira, or if they have plans for me and Adi.” Papa's guess is right. What happened to Dira had something to do with him.

“But, Hadi,” said Colin slowly, “how can you know about all this?”

“I have often reminded you that there should be no secrets between you and Dira. It was the gap most often used by enemies to divide. We learned all that from Mom and Dad. Therefore in our family there is no such thing as a secret,” I replied.

“You're right. I was stupid,” he said slowly.

“I warned you. Don't even think about trying to get back to my sister. Because the first person you have to face is me. After what you did to him, I don't want my sister to spend the rest of her life with an unbelievable boy.”

“I don't care. You can keep all that love for your new boyfriend. Don't go near my sister. I entrusted him to you, but you wasted him instead. I'm trying to help and understand why you used infidelity as a way to end your relationship, what's your answer? You love Mila.

“You just keep choosing to lie rather than be honest with me. Had you told me this from the beginning, it would not have been this way. Pray that they have no ill intentions that could ruin Dira's future. Because if that happens, you're the one I'm going to blame.” I stopped talking when I felt a touch on my arm.

“Hadi,” says Mila calming. “What Colin thinks is just protecting Dira. The way is wrong, but you've scolded him enough. You guys are best friends. Everything can be discussed.”

“He's not my best friend anymore in the second he lied to me.”

For a moment, no one spoke. The three of us were busy with our thoughts. I took a deep breath and took it out slowly to help calm myself down. Stupid colin. This big thing even he tried to overcome it alone.

“Then what should we do next?” colin asked breaking the silence.

“I told you, let Papa handle it. It's an adult affair, we'd better not interfere.” Our conversation halted for a moment as the waiter came to deliver our ordered drinks. I looked towards Mila. “So, what do you want to talk to me about?”

“Are you sure you're ready to listen to my story? I don't want you to suddenly get angry like you did with Colin,” he joked. I smile.

“You haven't hurt anyone in my family, so your position for now is safe.” I'm kidding along. Colin snorted loudly.

“I took a walk to the mall on the night of last week. A man named Colton Jones confessed that I was his missing daughter. I felt uncomfortable when I was nearby, so I left immediately after hearing the story. Hadi, I moved to the apartment to make sure that he would not be able to come to me,” he said with a face that looked terrified.

“Shortly. I don't get it. Can you repeat again?” many confused.

Meanwhile in an agency~

Reese walked quickly towards a room with Cilla walking by her side. His assistant kept reminding him to keep his word while talking to the owner of the agency. Without waiting for Sam's secretary to announce her arrival, the girl knocked on the door and immediately walked into the director's den.

“Sam has been too long. What the hell's going on? Why haven't you been able to also defuse the video circulating?” reese asked in a panic.

“I've done everything I could. All the best IT I have asked you to please delete all the videos and talk carefully with the media,” said Sam frustrated. “I'm waiting for a report on who is behind all this.”

“My name won't be able to be cleaned again if this continues, Sam. One of my colleagues called me to talk about a contract change. I'm sure they want to end their contract with me. Do something,” pinta Reese urges.

Sam raised his hand, asking the girl to be quiet for a moment. Then he put his cell phone to his ear. “Ya?” He listened to what the person across the phone said with a frown. “Are you sure? How can we get involved with him? Whahuh? Good. Now I get it. Ja. Thank you.”

Reese immediately looked at him expectantly. “How? Did they manage to delete all those videos from the internet?”

The man rubbed his face with his hands. “Why didn't you tell me? Why are you looking for trouble with Dira? Don't you know who his father is?” Reese frowned, then shook her head. “Mahendra Perkasa's. He was a respected businessman in this city even the country. The person who prevented the video was removed entirely from the internet.”

“You are also a respected person in this country. What are you afraid of?” ask Reese wonder. He turned his head towards Cilla who could only sigh softly.

“He is much more influential than me. Just by snapping his finger, he can make my agency close. And I can't demand he lose it until it happens.” Sam was sitting limp in his chair.
