He's The Unaffordable
Chapter 200 - A New Life

*Hadi*

“Rissa, fast little!” call me from downstairs. He always misses things at the last minute. I have repeatedly reminded him to put all his luggage near the door so that the waiter can take it. He forgot his watch.

“I'm coming, I'm coming!” he then appeared and went down the stairs quickly. I didn't see her forehead wrinkling to show that she was in pain. Even though his leg was recovering, I still often noticed if there were any signs of him feeling pain. “You are so impatient. Our flight's still five hours away. There is plenty of time to relax.”

Oh, dearGod. How I miss hearing the Indo-Bonesian language. “Think what will happen on the road. If there was an accident or something. We can be late if we leave too soon. It's an international flight.”

Uncle Xavier who was standing by the door laughed. “Tan easy, Hadi. You're not gonna be late. My wife and I can't drive, so don't fight anymore.” He patted my shoulder.

“Let him be angry now, Uncle, so that on the plane later, he does not fuss anymore,” Clarissa said as she hugged Aunt Annora, then Uncle Xavier. “Thank you very much for the kindness of Uncle and Aunt during my stay here. Let me know when you come to Jakarta. I'll take you guys around eating in a nice place.”

They laugh happily. “Hendra often does that when we visit. You remind me of Indonesian food.” Aunt Annora wet her lips with her tongue. “Maybe we will come at the end of this year after the wedding of Jax.” She exchanged looks with her husband.

After saying thank you and goodbye, Clarissa and I rushed into the car. Their driver will drive us straight to Heathrow airport. Though I want us to take the express train just so as not to trouble them. But Uncle and Aunt are forcing.

We thank the man who helped me and Clarissa for a year. Then pull both suitcases towards the check-in counter. Not willing to waste any time, I invited him to sit near the waiting room. Aunt had already provided us with sandwiches and drinks, so we didn't have to buy anything to fill the stomach. We can't bring water to the waiting room for an international flight, so we have to spend it before we get in.

“I can't wait to see their surprised faces all!” clarissa is happy. We deliberately didn't tell anyone about our return. All they know is we still go to and fro enjoying Europe. Thas right. We have been home since two days ago.

“Charlotte will be so mad at you. Get ready.” I'm laughing a little.

“Dira and Aunt Zahara will be very angry with you,” the god does not want to lose.

With a nearly twenty-hour flight with a four-hour transit in Dubai, we finally arrived at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. I knew I was in my homeland as soon as I heard the voice of the operator making the announcement in Indonesian. Clarissa even shed her tears as we waited for our luggage at the baggage claim. We home.

I could not help but cry my day when I saw my family standing waiting for me at the exit. Mama immediately ran over and hugged me so tightly. She cried so hard that she made me cry with her.

For a year, I've missed many of our family's special moments. Christmas, New Year, my family's birthday, their wedding anniversary, even the celebration of the success of the film based on the book by Mama played by Dira.

“Thank God, you are not pregnant,” Aunt Lindsey said.

“Grandmother!!” cry Clarissa with a flushed face. Everyone laughed as soon as they realized what Aunt Lindsey meant.

“I told you, my son will treat Clarissa politely. He won't cross the line.” Mama patted my chest proudly.

We go back to our families. Dira and Colin came to the house and had dinner with us. Mr. Fahri must have deliberately cooked my favorite food to welcome me. Not only the language and atmosphere, I also miss Indonesian food. I eat voraciously, Mama helps by adding food whenever my plate is almost empty.

One by one my family told me everything I had missed while I was in people's country. It turns out that it wasn't just me having a hard time, they were too. Thankfully, there were Uncle Xavier and Aunt Annora accompanying me and Clarissa when we encountered difficulties. Not much different from the people around us, they also have enemies who retaliate by hurting others, not their main target.

I couldn't sleep that night. Because according to the time in London, we are still busy studying in the library at this hour. So, Clarissa and I talked to each other on video calls until we fell asleep. That's quite helpful. It was just the two of us who had just made the same trip. After a few days, our bodies will adjust.

On Sunday, my parents gave me a surprise without telling us our purpose for coming to Clarissa's house. It turned out that they had prepared a thanksgiving event for our graduation and return. They don't invite a lot of people. Only the closest friends and relatives.

“What is this?” I asked Wendy who gave me a box of chocolates with blue ribbons.

“I still save Valentine's chocolates Sister.” He blinked one eye at me. “So, what are the souvenirs from England for me?”

“Not much has changed, huh?” clarissa said slowly. “This house is still the same. People also. I don't know why I feel like I'm the one who changed.”

“You haven't changed, baby. You just need to familiarize yourself again with your old habits,” I said comforting him. “So, you don't regret delaying our wedding again?”

“We have agreed, then I will not retract my words anymore. You're correct. We need to focus on working. Our family has spent a lot of money so that we can learn many things before joining the company with them.” She smiled, then wrapped her hands around my arms. “I can still wait as long as you keep your promise for a date once a week.”

“I kept my promise during our study in England, then I will not deny while here,” I peeked at her cheek. “I'm happy I wasn't wrong to have been waiting for you back. We will definitely be the happiest couple.”

“It's definitely. Because I will chase after you, if you dare to leave me again. No other woman in the world can make you happy, other than me,” she said confidently.

“I won't leave you again,” I said firmly. He just smelled his smile. “Are you ready to work in your grandfather's office tomorrow?”

“I never sesap this.” He smiled happily. “I can't wait to take a meeting and interrupt them when an idea suddenly pops up. Grandpa forbids me to do it too often. But those directors never mind.”

“Oh, please. Today is still Sunday and you guys have already discussed about work?” charlotte's sudden sigh was already standing in front of us. “You two are really boring.”

“Do you think Hadi will want to discuss about trends in clothing, movies, or artist gossip?” Clarissa rolled her eyeballs. “Therefore we talk about work.”

“Again the next three years, you and Wyatt will also discuss the same topic. We'll see later.” I smiled meaningfully.

“Grandpa and Grandma want to talk. Come, come with us.” Charlotte pulls Clarissa's hand until she stands up and follows her. I walk behind them.

Clarissa and I took a quick breath once they found out what they wanted to talk about. We refused and declared it was not yet time. Both Clarissa and I agreed that we would focus on working and studying for a year or two, then we got married.

Of course all our parents protested against our plan. Only Papa smiled, saying nothing. I let Clarissa answer all their questions and grievances. He can talk sweetly that will make people understand. I can't do that.

“I'm very disappointed in you, Hadi. I thought you and Clarissa were coming home, and then you'd keep your word by getting married as soon as possible. It turns out that you are denying your own words. Don't you know I'd love to hold a grandchild? You're all grown up, don't need me anymore. I miss having another child at home,” protest Mama.

“Ahh, about that. I so remember what you did that we had to wait a long time to have a child,” Papa's tease. Mama glanced sharply at him. Me and Adi smile. We know what Papa means. “I just said honestly.” Papa put on a naive face.

“Our case is different with children. They loved each other before they got married,” Mama reminded. “While we are, you love me first.” Papa laughs. He hugged and kissed my mom. Just by doing that, Mama returned smiling happily.

My new life as an adult began. I looked at my reflection in the mirror. Clarissa suggested that we wear matching clothes on this day. I don't know what's the point, but I'm following his request.

Mama gave me a hug and a kiss when me and Papa were about to leave for work. My biggest lesson is about to begin. I know a lot of things I've learned about my family's company. But today, I'm not just learning from Papa. A special person will also lead me to learn to be a leader.

Papa taught me a lot. The most important thing is that I can't work alone. I will need many people to help me succeed and be happy in life. The one who will never betray me is my own family, therefore I entrust everything to them.

Aunt Gista and Colin welcomed us. Colin was immediately appointed as assistant to Aunt Gista after he successfully passed the test prepared by Papa. He went through a difficult period in his first year of work, as many were envious and suspicious of nepotism. But my best friend managed to prove that he deserved to be in that position.

I opened the door to Papa's study and the one who would be my next teacher was already sitting on one of the sofas. Grandfather greeted us with a smile on his face. He patted the surface of the sofa on his side. “Come, Hadi. We start today's lesson.”

Even though I have just finished my studies, I am not tired of studying. Learning a lot of things is my hobby. All my curiosity and questions can be answered through study. I know the continuity of our family business is on my shoulders. So, I will try my hardest not to let them down.
