He's The Unaffordable
Chapter 197 - The Oath of Faithfulness

Years changed, bids to become ad stars or movies still flowed. Although not as much as at the end of last year, this is still a record for me. I usually go to them and audition. Only one or two companies came to invite me to be their model.

According to Vikal, it was Bu Riani's kebaya performance that made me a favorite of many. He suggested that I use every opportunity well. But I do not want to be greedy and put aside studies and family for the sake of work. So, I just took a few who offered the best contract according to Om Zach.

After all, I don't want people to get tired of seeing me perform almost every day on flat, wide, online, or print screens. Seeing our faces on almost every street is certainly proud, but not for others. They'll be fed up for a long time, then tired of seeing my face. I don't want to lose my job just because I'm greedy.

Papa and Mama are very happy to see the results of the value of my first semester and Adi. We had dinner together to celebrate. Adi used the opportunity to tell us that she was going to join the game tournament with Colin, Lily, and Diah. Sister conveyed the results of her English language test test test better than Clarissa. We laughed.

“You rejected all their offers, what about me and Official? Do you want to play in the latest movie based on my novel?” ask Mom after listening to my story.

“Seriously, Ma? Mama's novel to be made into a movie again?” I just don't believe it. Mama nodded happily. which “Novel? I'm not sure I'll be that character. Usually, Mama is independent and strong. I'm not so.”

“It's precisely you manage to act when you can be a different person from your own character.” Mama blinked one eye. “Think. There's still time before the cast audition starts.” Brother and Adi teased me with their cheers.

The wedding was in sight, Colin and I didn't have time to meet. He was busy with his family, I was with my family. Therefore, I was very excited to see him again at a dinner with our extended family.

Uncle Will's parents also came to watch us swear allegiance. They introduced their families to us. Then Papa introduced us all to them. The show went well and everyone was very happy.

I woke up early on my wedding day to be groomed by someone who used to take care of me while modeling. I've been used to performing with full and thick makeup, so on my special day, I asked for a simple makeup. They succeeded when I saw Papa and my two brothers open their mouths to see my appearance.

“Today I will be very proud to walk beside my very beautiful daughter,” praise Papa who stretched out his hand to me.

“More beautiful than her mama?” seductive Mama. Papa just laughed.

We went to church together, but I was alone in the bridal car. Colin will go with his family and we meet there. While in the waiting room, Papa and I were asked to prepare to enter the prayer room.

He helped to tidy up my hood, then gave me a flower hand. Seeing him just staring at me in silence, my tears threatened to come out. Soon I'm not her little girl anymore. I will marry and be the responsibility of another man.

“Hopefully happy, dear. If you encounter any problems, my door is always open for you. You will soon be a wife, do not be spoiled again.” Papa caressed my cheek. “Colin will definitely take good care of you. But if he fails, I'll take you home.”

I laughed hearing that. “Already, Pa. My makeup can be damaged by tears,” I said softly.

Colin immediately turned my attention to her as soon as the church door opened. He looks very different from his black suit. Her hair was also neatly styled. Pride filled my chest. We stayed for a dozen years together, hopefully we can survive the next problem until death that separates us.

Papa put my hand on Colin's hand as a symbol he approved of our relationship and left the duty of protecting me to my future husband. Papa didn't say anything, but I'm sure they've talked together about Papa's expectations of Colin.

We were moved when we took the oath and put the ring together. When we were declared legal as husband and wife, we shed tears again. I now understand why people cry on their wedding day. It is like a dream at once real. I can't explain the emotions I feel being with the person I love forever.

The event continued with a dinner together in a building with a large capacity. We have anticipated that guests who come will not be accommodated in any hotel hall. I was Papa's first child to get married, so his colleague must have come. It doesn't matter if they get an invitation or not. Model friends who have worked with me also do not want to know about the invitation.

After the guests arrived, all of our closest family and friends took pictures with us. I'm not sure there will be a good result, because everyone is busy expressing his opinion. Someone told us to smile. Others are busy arranging everyone's positions so that the results are good. The photographer didn't care about it and kept shooting all of us.

“One more time, congratulations on your marriage. We'll go home.” Mom pulls Papa's arm.

“Remember, what I told you, Colin. Treat my daughter well,” Papa said meaningfully. “You better not do it tonight, because—”

“Honey, we have to be fast. Kaffin has been waiting for a long time.” Mama cut out Papa's sentence. She was heavy-heartedly following Mama to the car.

“Have fun.” Wyatt blinked one eye at Colin. Charlotte just laughed amusedly at the signal.

“Go, Brother. Don't have to say anything,” I said preventing Kak Hadi from saying what was in his head. “You too, Adi. There, don't let Papa and Mama wait.” Instead of going well, they laughed together.

Uncle Will, ah, I mean, Dad, Mama Gista, and Lily also congratulate and say goodbye. Colin and I waited until all the cars were moving from the front door of the hotel. We'll stay at the hotel for the night. Then we will go to the apartment that became our next residence. The workers from Papa's house had already moved all our gifts from the hotel to there.

Opening presents will be a very long job for me to complete. There are so many people who give us gifts. I forgot for a moment the great task that was waiting at our residence tomorrow. On this night, I would love to rest after many days of having to follow Mama and Mama Gista to and fro.

I am so grateful to my mom who thought things through. My makeup artist is waiting in our room. She helped me get rid of all the things that were stuck to my hair and unbuttoned on the back of the dress that I couldn't reach. I was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief after the dress was loose.

Colin who just came out of the bathroom again looks like he is who I usually know. That suit has made him look like everyone else. He looked around our room. “Where was the woman?” tanyakanya.

“Home home. I'll take a shower for a while.” I passed her to the bathroom. My hand remained in front of my chest to keep the dress from sliding down.

I didn't bring a change of clothes, so I just put on my coat when I came out of the bathroom. Colin had fallen asleep on the bed. I laughed a little at his smooth snoring. She must have been so exhausted that she couldn't wait for me to finish my bath.

Feeling my stomach hungry, I ordered food after putting on my pajamas. I couldn't eat much, because the guests didn't stop congratulating me. Papa's gonna pay our bills, so I can't waste it.

I'm used to seeing Colin sleeping, so seeing him like this is nothing new. I helped fix his sleeping position and covered his body with a blanket. The position of the bed he chose was the same as my favorite position. It seems like I should give up and sleep on the side of the bed next to him.

The door was knocked, I immediately opened it and let the waiter put my ordered food and drinks on the table. I closed the door and locked it as soon as the woman came out. Hearing Colin's slow moans, he must have smelled the smell of food filling the room.

“Yes, geez. I'm sorry, dear.” He sat down and looked around him. “I'm asleep.”

“It's okay. I know fatigue.”I patted the surface of the sofa. “Sit here, darling. I've ordered food for you too.”

“You are indeed a good wife.” He sat by my side, then kissed my cheek.

Wives. A word that still sounds foreign to my ears. Although this is new to me, I will not stop learning to be the best partner for my husband. There are many things ahead that are waiting for us. Whatever happens, I will try my hardest to keep every word I say on my vows.
