He's The Unaffordable
Chapter 53 - Birth Name

On that Sunday, we just relaxed at home. Grandpa and Grandpa left after lunch with us. Grandma showed me the photos they had stored in the album. Wyatt laughed at Charlotte's change in face from baby to growing up. Seeing them fight is very entertaining because they still look to love each other.

When Grandma and Grandma felt guilty I didn't grow up with them, I asked them to forget the past. We've gathered again, talking about the past will only make us open wounds that are about to recover.

When Grandpa and Grandpa came back, they gave Charlotte and me a jewelry box. I was surprised to see a beautiful necklace inside. They gave a similar necklace to both of us. Grandma and Grandma helped us wear it.

“I don't want to ruin your happiness, but the necklace is not ordinary jewelry,” said Grandpa who laughed with Grandpa. “There's a tracker on that necklace like the one on Clarissa's bracelet. Due to yesterday's incident, we discussed with Hendra to use other alternatives that we can use to search for you if something happens.”

“Why do I need this necklace too, Grandpa?” ask Charlotte for wonder.

“We do not want you to whine and accuse us of favoritism for not giving the same necklace to you,” Grandpa tease. Charlotte pouted hearing that. I hugged my sister so she would laugh again.

On Monday morning, Grandpa drove me to college on my way to an appointment with a business partner who happened to be in Jakarta as well. When I arrived at the building where my major was, I felt like someone else. Usually the students ignore me, but this time they set their sights on me.

Nothing has changed for me, why are they suddenly interested in me? I entered the lecture hall and the same scene happened. My friends looked at me and looked at me from head to toe.

A few minutes before the lecture began, Manda came and sat down by my side. I like sitting in the front row. A position that my friends didn't particularly like, so the seats on my right or left side were often empty. Only Manda would sit in a row with me.

“Wow, Mila! You look so beautiful this morning!” He looked at me carefully. “Did you just get a big draw? Your clothes and bags are very expensive.”

Ooo. So, that's what made some of the students suddenly interested in me. I just put on the shirt and trousers that were in the clothing room, also picked up one of the bags available. I didn't know that what I was wearing was expensive stuff.

Grandma gave all my old things to the waiter to donate so I had no choice but to wear what was available. How could they know that what I was wearing was an expensive item?

“Link only I just got a draw,” I said without giving him any clue as to the good thing that just happened to me. I have found my family.

“You always thought I was a stranger. We've been friends for a long time, since our first day of college here. But it seems like only I think we are good friends,” he said in a sad tone.

“What do you mean? We're class mates, then where do I think you're a stranger?” I don't want to be provoked.

“I'm always open to tell you everything. About me, my dreams, my family, but you never told me anything. I don't even know what you're going to do once you finish college,” he said. We've been arguing this, I don't want to talk about it anymore. Who is she to dare demand that I be open to her?

“Shut? Is this all you can do? Shut up and don't respond to what I said?” exacting.

“I never asked you to tell me everything about personal matters. If you want to share, I won't forbid. Then what makes you feel entitled to ask me to be open to you about my life?” I asked back. “We've already discussed this, do you remember what your last words were on that day?”

“Good morning, everyone!” exclaim the lecturer who entered the lecture room. The chatting friends stopped talking, and those standing immediately sat in their respective places. “Before we start college today, there is one important announcement. Your friend, Mila Foster, found her biological family after a long search. So, from today he officially uses his birth name. Clarissa Raina.”

The classroom atmosphere turned boisterous with students busy talking to each other. I could feel Manda's eyes on me, but I just ignored her. The situation of the room calmed down once the lecturer asked everyone to be quiet.

“Thank you, Mom,” I said. I don't know when Om Hendra did all this, but I'm very grateful to him. After a few days of hearing people call me by the name of Clarissa, I wasn't sure I'd turn my head when it was called Mila.

The lecturer again calmed the boisterous room and asked us all to focus on listening to the lecture material he would bring today. I'm so grateful I never got close to my classmates. Because I'm sure I won't be flocked with questions by them after college.

After two courses, I looked for a place to eat lunch. Grandma gave me a box of food. I purposely avoided Manda because I didn't want to discuss unnecessary things with her. My steps came to a halt as I stepped on the last rung of stairs to see Hadi and Colin standing not far from me.

“Lunch with us?” ask Hadi. I'm nodding. “Mama forced me to bring supplies today. So, we can eat it together. The food box is in the car.”

I didn't refuse when Hadi took my hand. Colin smiled meaningfully, but he did not say anything. Just cleared slowly. “Grandma also gave me stock.”

“It was good news. I can eat your part,” Colin said happily. “By the way, congratulations on your engagement, Clarissa. I assure you, although he is a stiff man, Hadi is a good man. You won't regret being her partner.”

“You better take care of your own business, Cole. You don't have to talk to him on my behalf. I can convince him to choose me, ‘if’ I want to marry him,” Hadi said. He deliberately put pressure on the word that. I grunt softly.

“What is it about Clarissa that makes you not want to marry her?” challenge Colin. “She is beautiful, attractive, kind, intelligent, what else is lacking?”

“My sister also has all those qualities, but look what you did to her.” Hadi looked at his best friend sharply. “One more time, just take care of your own business.”

Walking from my direction to the parking lot where Hadi's car was, we had to pass through his department building. Some of the students looked at us with curious gazes, the female students instead stared dislikefully at me. He must have a lot of fans.

We chose one of the benches to sit down with and eat our lunch. Colin told me about the title of the proposal he was working on and asked for Hadi's opinion. I just listen to them discuss. When they asked me about my studies, I also shared about the proposals I was working on.

“Wah. Maybe we'll graduate together. Attractively. We make an event together only so we can attend each other's events,” exclaimed Colin gave his opinion.

Hadi looked at him seriously. “Did you forget that Dira is my sister? I don't want him in a room with you. And keep this in mind, I won't invite you to my graduation.” Colin groaned like a child.

“If you don't like what Colin did to Dira, why are you still friends with him?” ask me who has long refrained from asking him that question.

“Because I can't deny that he's a good friend. He made a big mistake, that's right. But he's still a good friend. And I already know why he made that stupid decision. So ... besides being friends with others will also be the same as the result,” I Hadi. “I also made a mistake that made Cole mad at me, so what makes me better than him?”

“Dira also does not mind your friendship with him,” I said adding.

“Of course not. She wouldn't want her brother to be lonely without a friend.” Colin wrapped his hand on Hadi's shoulder which he immediately patted.

It was the thing I saw similar between the two of us. Hadi only has a friend. It was a lot different than Colin who had a lot of friends. I don't even have anyone close to me. Manda thinks I'm his friend, but I'm not.

Has Hadi ever had the experience of being betrayed in his past? Om Hendra must have taken good care of his children so that no one would hurt them. Then how could he seem to have experienced what I've experienced?
