He's The Unaffordable

He's The Unaffordable
Chapter 179 - A Progress

Dira and I were banging Adi's back so much that he knew what he called a girlfriend was his in-game wife. The woman named Diah already had a boyfriend, so we knew Adi was just joking. After all a mature woman like her would not be attracted to a snot-like young man like my sister.

Yuyun's mother came to bring us warm drinks and snacks. I immediately moved to sit on the sofa. After replying to our thanks, Mother Yuyun walked out of Dira's room. We continued the conversation while enjoying the meal.

Papa and Mama invite Adi to follow every invitation they attend so that he does not feel alone. Dira auditioned accompanied by Colin, while I spent my weekend at Clarissa's house. He learned to make two new meals with the help of Aunt Lindsey.

I gladly accepted the result and ate it voraciously. Clarissa came to suspect that I was pretending to enjoy her bad cooking. Indeed, the taste of the food is not as perfect as made by Mr. Fahri. But as a beginner, the cuisine is delicious.

“You don't have to painstakingly learn to cook, baby. We'll hire a chef, so you can focus on watching me. Not taking care of the house,” I reminded.

“Oh. Independent men like you still need attention?” goda. I laugh.

“Do you not see how your grandfather behaves every time he comes home from work?” Aunt Lindsey laughed. “Even though he's a boss, once at home, he turns into a kid. The thing he could usually do himself suddenly could not be done.”

“Ooo-be. So this is what you talk about all day at home? Talk about the person behind her, hm?” said Om Edu who entered the dining room. We laughed at once. “Where are Charlotte and Wyatt?” He looked around us.

“Still swimming in the pool,” replied Aunt Lindsey.

“Come, we're getting ready now. Your makeup artist has arrived,” invite Om Edu. Wife according. They will be attending the wedding reception this afternoon.

Clarissa invited me to continue the conversation in the living room. The servants were already preparing to tidy up the dining room. Due to the condition of her feet and hands, Clarissa could not do much activity. So, we chose a channel that plays action movies.

Wyatt and Charlotte joined us after they finished lunch. The movie is almost over, but they don't mind. Wyatt invited us to play cards that we immediately agreed to. Charlotte always wins every time we play different types of card games. I've mastered the rules and I haven't been able to defeat him.

My guiding lecturer has gone home, so I come to campus as early as possible to be the first to discuss with him. I almost cheered when he said that my second chapter was good and I could move on to chapter 3.

It's not just me who's getting good news, Clarissa too. His lecturer asked to add some theories, but he could already work on his third chapter. I left the thesis to Charlotte and went to the office with a light body.

The third chapter is the most difficult in doing thesis, because it is the content of the research we are working on. I've got all the data I need, just process it. Colin just started his research by spreading questionnaires. Who said the first one to start guaranteeing it will be finished first?

“Why do you keep smiling like that? What's the good news?” clarissa asked me when I asked her grandmother to connect us on a video call.

“I have completed my second chapter, so I can continue to chapter three,” I replied happily. “You are too. There's something to add to chapter two, but your lecturer lets you move on to chapter three. Congratulations, dear.” I stopped the car as soon as the red light came on.

“Wah! Thank goodness! So, we can graduate together!” cheers happy. I laughed with him.

But there was something strange about him. Then I remembered the first sentence when I greeted me. “Darling, has your vision returned?” askaku expectantly.

“Finally, you realize it too! Yes, baby! I woke up this morning everything I could see, even though I was still a little fuzzy. The doctor came to check on me. He said, tomorrow or the day after, I can already see clearly again!” happy shouting. Mercifully.

“I'm sorry. I couldn't come to your house this afternoon. Congratulations to you, dear.” I feel happy too.

His face turned sullen. “Where are you going? This afternoon someone wants to meet you. Can't you stop by for dinner?” her door.

“How about tomorrow?” ask again.

“I can't. There was a big event at home, so I had to help my sister check out the last few preparations,” replied I who felt increasingly uneasy seeing her sad face. “I'll be here on Thursday afternoon. Hows it? Your script has been sent to Charlotte. So, you can start your research.” I tried to persuade him.

“You have a big event at home? Why didn't you invite me?” tanyanya sad.

“Tante Lindsey didn't say anything about the event at our home?” I asked back. “This isn't my show, so I'm not an invitee. Papa's in charge of doing that. Office employees, business colleagues, and best friends who get invitations.”

“Grandpa or Grandpa didn't say there was an event we should attend on Wednesday,” he said slowly. “Good. I'll ask him later. I don't know if I should come. With my condition, I am not fit to wear good clothes.”

“Wear comfortable clothes only, dear. I love you, so you don't have to try hard to attract my attention anymore,” I said trying to melt the atmosphere.

“Gombal. I'm sure Om Hendra's colleagues will bring their daughters to attend the event at your home. If I don't perform better than them, you'll be ashamed of yourself.”

“You can just come alone is enough, dear.” I paused for a moment. “What's that sound?”

“There's an incoming call. I'll give my phone to Grandma. This must be an important phone. See you later, baby. Be careful on the road.” He kissed the camera so I could see his lips approaching. I just laughed at his behavior.

The meeting had already begun, so I did not enter the room so as not to interrupt the course of the event. I went straight to my room and turned on the computer to see my to-do list today. Tegar came and gave some suggestions from interns who are our responsibility. I sighed softly looking at that pile of paper.

Thankfully, I was able to finish my work on time. He stared at me in disbelief, as he was still examining the papers. I rushed to the parking lot. Fortunately, the brothers asked to meet at a mall close to my office location. Pak Sakti drove them, then later we will go home together.

“Kak! Here!” There was a sound of Dira calling out as I entered a cafe where they were already waiting for me. They asked me to sit for a moment. “We've been looking for information.” Dira put a brochure on the table in front of me. “How about we just give you a clock?”

“I already have other plans. Papa's phone hasn't been replaced in years. I'll give it as a gift.” I see them in turn. “If you want to give me that hour, please.” I took the glass in front of Adi and gulped down the contents.

“I don't mind,” said Adi. Dira also agreed.

We went to the clock shop first. I let Dira and Adi discuss both choosing the type and color of the clock that is suitable for Papa. Any one is no problem for him. Papa never cared about his appearance. When compared to Adi and I, people say that Papa is not attractive. The property and surname that made Papa the target of many women. What a strange assumption. Me and Adi are similar to Papa.

Dira who likes handsome men alone always compare them with Papa. To him, Papa is the most handsome man in the world. Her model friends are considered ordinary, even Colin who loved her was less attractive. Everyone's standards are different.

After getting the clock they wanted, we headed to the nearest mobile phone store. I already know the stuff I'm after. So, I simply mention the brand and type, the shopkeeper gave me what I asked for. I did not open the box and asked for guarantees I could return the item if it turned out to be in a damaged condition.

“What do you want to eat? I bought it,” I said while looking at the rows of restaurants around us. The smell made my stomach even more hungry.

“That's warm, Brother.” Adi rubbed his stomach. “I haven't eaten meatballs in a long time.” I turned towards Dira, she nodded in agreement.

“Good. Come.” I allowed Adi to walk first and choose the place to eat he wanted. Me and Dira followed him.

My steps came to a halt when someone held my arm from behind. I turned my head and saw a middle-aged woman looking at me strangely. “Hendra? You're Hendra, ‘kan?” ask with a happy smile. Who is this woman? Why did he call me by the name of Papa?
