“Because you women are always noisy want to be respected, then please you are first.” He put his cell phone on the table. “I'm lazy to write, so I just record.”
I could only open my mouth to hear her words. How could I fall in love with this young man? I don't know. “Give me time to think. Your request is very sudden.” He was just silent, indifferent.
Okay. What conditions should I apply for? My heart was pounding so fast that it made it hard for me to concentrate. Whatever I think, that's all I say. “First, you and I will not get married until we finish studying in England.”
“In a moment, in a minute,” he said cut before I said the next sentence. “Who said we were getting married? I just agree we're dating.”
“For what is dating if it's just status? I don't want to!” I said firmly.
Hadi closed his eyes, then took a deep breath. “Good. You just convey the terms from you, then I'll say my part.”
“OK. Second, I wish we could stay at Grandpa and Grandma's house after three years of marriage. I want to take care of them in old age. Third, we have to date at least once a month whatever busy you are. Fourth, we have an engagement on Christmas Eve. So, Grandpa and Grandma could be present as well. That's all from me.”
“Why do all the terms you submit have nothing to do with dating?” hadi protest. I just shook my head and continued eating. He looked towards the door. “Why did my order food come so long?”
At the same time, the door was knocked from the outside. He immediately stood up and opened it. A young man came carrying trays. Hadi gave a few pieces of money, then received the tray. He put his food and drink on the table.
“Why don't you bring food from home? Cuisine of your chef, ‘kan, very tasty,” I said confused. He just shook his head. As it seemed, he was very hungry, I did not ask what conditions he had prepared.
“I only have two conditions,” he said after finishing eating. I closed my bag back and paid my full attention to him. “First, this is only for three months. Second, if within three months you cut off the relationship again unilaterally, then I will not give you another chance. If you survive, our relationship will be serious.”
“OK. I agree.” I extended my hand to him.
“What is this?” ask her with a frown.
“Sign of agreement,” answer me quickly.
“No need. I hope you can be professional as long as we're at work. I never bring personal business to the office. Do you understand?” he said seriously. He turned off the recording device on his phone.
I nodded my head. “Do not worry. I can be professional.” I instantly proved my point by not touching him more than a co-worker.
For the rest of the working hours, I could feel the glances of my friends. My face must have been so happy that it caught their attention. But I couldn't stop my smiling lips from remembering that Hadi and I were back together.
I refrained from telling Charlotte about this happy news. It's better if I give it to him directly. Grandpa and Grandma must have been really happy when they found out that Hadi and I were back together. Three months, that's an easy requirement. I wouldn't make the same mistake of breaking up with her again.
A few minutes before work was over, Grandpa's assistant sent a message that he wouldn't be home for the night. There was a sudden appointment with one of his colleagues. Normally Wyatt and Charlotte would pick me up if Grandpa couldn't. I never worried about going home alone.
“Why did you leave the room by yourself and not wait for me?” said Hadi who suddenly just stood by my side waiting for the elevator.
I looked up and scrunched my forehead. “What do you mean? Don't we always go home by ourselves?” I felt my hand held.
“Starting today, I will take you home,” he said slowly making me happy.
“Are you also going to pick me up every morning?” askaku expectantly.
“Home we are different directions. We could be late if I had to pick you up just to go to the office. I'll just pick you up when we date,” the answer makes sense.
Alright. This is enough as a start. He's willing to hold my hand again is a very good development. I can't go wrong and make mistakes again. I have three months to prove I'm serious with him.
Sensing someone staring at me, I raised my head and saw some people around us smiling meaningfully. I felt my face heat up. They must have seen our interlocking hands and Hadi's changing attitude. This was the first time he had stood close to me.
“Let them follow us from behind,” said Hadi when he saw Wyatt and Charlotte were waiting in line with another car to pick me up. He took me to his car in the parking lot. Of course I obey him.
I feel a vibration in my bag. It must be Charlotte who sent the message. Hadi helped me get into the car before turning around and sitting in the driver's seat. I checked my phone and it's right. There's a new message from Charlotte. What's going on, Clarissa? That's the only message.
I decided to call my sister. He immediately replied on the first ring. “I'll be home with Hadi. We meet at home.”
“You haven't answered my question,” urges Charlotte. “Don't say wait until home. I want you to answer now.”
I glanced towards Hadi who was staring seriously at the long queue in front of us. “Me and Hadi are back together. So, he'll take me home.”
“Oh, God!! And finally!! Horeee!!” Charlotte screamed so loudly that I had to keep my phone out of my ear. Hadi laughed a little hearing that.
“Did you forget where I was?” I whispered to my sister, ashamed of her frank attitude. “Hadi heard your screams earlier.”
“I don't care! I'll call Grandma. He's got to have dinner at our house. I'll have Grandma prepare Hadi's favorite menu. Be careful on the road. See you later!” Charlotte immediately cut off the relationship for sure because she wanted to call Grandma.
“I'm invited to dinner at your house?” ask Hadi. I'm asserting. “I already knew this would definitely cause fanfare. Alright. Mama would protest if I didn't do the same. You're having dinner at our house tomorrow night. Okay?”
“OK!” quickly answer. “Do I need to bring something for Aunt Zahara?”
“No need. You come as my girlfriend only, Mama is happy.” Look at the shop on our left. “Tante Lindsey loves chocolate cake. I'd better take that as a souvenir.” Ooo. That's what he's looking for.
He entered the parking lot of a bakery. Wyatt did the same. Hadi just opened the car door for me, Charlotte came and immediately hugged Hadi. Wyatt scolded her out of jealousy. I laughed at the manner of the two of them.
“I'm so happy,” Charlotte said in a soft voice. “Until I heard you guys are back together. You stupid Hadi!”
“What is this?” Hadi laughs. “You hug and cuss me simultaneously?”
“Already, sweety. Untie her. I'm the only one you can hug,” protest Wyatt.
“We'd better buy a cake for Grandma soon. He must be impatient to wait for our return,” I said to tear them apart. Charlotte complied by letting go of her embrace.
“Hadi is my sister-in-law's candidate! Why can't I hug him?” charlotte's protest to her fiance. They walked in front of us to the bakery, while we were behind them. “She will soon be our family too.”
“As long as they are not officially engaged, you should not hug her carelessly. Aren't you mad that I did the same to Dira?” challenge Wyatt.
“You and I are not the same. Where do you want to hug women carelessly. Anyway I'm not jealous if you hug my brother and best friend,” reply Charlotte does not want to lose.
Hadi asked me who chose the cake that Grandma would like, so I pointed to the most expensive chocolate cake recommended by her shopkeeper. He only shook his head when the cake was taken out of the glass cabinet and put in a box.
Wyatt bought a chocolate bar and a bowl of ice cream to persuade the sulking Charlotte. Seeing that, Hadi offered the same to me. I-i refused. There are enough ice cream, chocolate, and other different types of snacks available at home.
We went out first after paying for Grandma's cake. Hadi held the pouch in his right hand, while his left hand held my hand. Someone almost hit us. He just looked down at his feet so he didn't notice the person in front of him.
“Oh, I'm sorry,” said the woman whose voice is not foreign.
“You can only daydream. Watch your way properly!” said a girl I knew. “Do not forgive my assistant. She deserves to y'all—” The young woman stopped talking when we met look.
