New Student

(Flashback)

*a year ago.

Two more weeks of semester 4 vacation will end, meaning that me and other friends have entered a different phase, which is in semester 5. Why is it said to be a different phase, because in this semester my class on campus will become core administrators in various fields on campus, be it organizational administrators, Majors or SMEs.

There will be two forces under my force (Junior), which means the responsibility of my force is to doble from the aspect of campus activities. And now I am also feeling the atmosphere, where the campus is currently crowded because my generation is the Core Committee for the MABA (New Student) welcoming this year.

Today there is a meeting to strengthen the admission activities of new students who begin to enter the next two weeks. Every representative of the major institutions was present at the meeting this time. No exception me and Wahid and my friends who had attended.

It can be said that this meeting is a big meeting considering that this activity is a Faculty level activity. This activity was chaired by Dzulfikar from the Department of Political Science in my class, and who became his representative on behalf of Albertus from the Department of International Relations.

One of my best friends who else if not Wahid served as Coordinator of equipment revision, which is why I could be here. Wahid asked me to help him in this revision and as a good friend I and Adi finally joined in the committee of the Faculty freshmen welcome.

Long enough also this meeting took place, I also had enough to hear Dzul with his rhetoric and speaking skills. It could be said that he did have good skills to speak, it was only natural considering that he was from the Department of Political Science. “Man remember tomorrow well.” Wahid said reminding about tomorrow's agenda.

“ok brother. God willing.” My reply.

“ok sip's. Then I'll go there first.”

“siyap bossku.” Reply Adi.

"ok, I went straight back.” The answer.

We separated because the meeting was over and I also had to go to the Karate SME secretariat which is currently also in the meeting.

This is what I mean, I not only became a committee at the Faculty level but also in SMEs and even I became a manager in 2 SMEs namely Karate SMEs and Scientific Reasoning SMEs. In UKM karate I served as Coordinator of Public Relations Devision and in UKM Scientific Reasoning I was just an ordinary member, although an ordinary member but still I have responsibilities that I have to bear during my time as a manager in SMEs.

Being a manager and committee is certainly different, if the committee carries out its functions until the activities are completed then becoming the board of directors must carry out its duties and functions until the management is complete or for one full year, at least until the new manager is elected.

In short, being a committee has a short time compared to being the manager of an institution and of course in terms of responsibility is also different.

This is more or less the picture if the new school year where new students will enter the campus. And it is from these processes that a student learns and develops to face the challenges after completion and get his bachelor's degree.

When I arrived at the karate SME secretariat, I saw other friends were busy preparing presentations and preparing booths for the introduction of Campus SMEs in front of MABA next week.

If the Faculty-level welcome is held two weeks away, then the University-level welcome will be delivered a week ahead of the Faculty-level welcome.

That's what makes my friends at UKM Karate seem busy preparing everything. I was also trusted by Yusuf to present a presentation on the history and achievements of karate SMEs in front of MABA. While Yusuf as the chairman of SMEs who have just been elected to replace Kak Opik will practice the karate movement in front of the MABA. It could be said that these two weeks will be a very, very busy day from the usual day of my life.
