The Birthday Surprise

(Flashback Part)

After Maghrib, with a flowering heart Ivan came to Dian's house to pick up his lover. With a white dress and unraveling hair Dian came out of the door of his house, Ivan who saw his lover did not blink a bit, Ivan glared while holding his feelings.

No words can describe Ivan's feelings tonight, his lover looks perfect in front of him. He was speechless to see his lover who is currently right in front of him. “sayang.. Darling..” Dian said.

“e yes dear. Excuse me.. Hehe. I'm sure you're pretty tonight. "

Dian also smiled at Ivan's behavior and praised seeing him tonight. Without wasting any time Finally the two of them set off for the villa of the place where he would have a romantic dinner together.

The journey is quite far, on the road they talk like lovers. Joking, laughing sometimes talk about things unnecessarily but since they are lovers, any conversation feels meaningful and close.

An hour had passed and they reached their destination. Ivan gave her a handkerchief and tied the handkerchief to her lover's head to close her eyes. They get out of the car, Ivan holds the hand of his lover while directing him to be careful when walking.

Arriving in the backyard of Villa, Ivan slowly opened his lover's blindfold. Counting one to three is a sign for Dian to open her eyes.

When he opened his eyes the first thing he saw was a candlelight, a clear candle that was burning on a round table with a white cloth. On the table were two chairs facing each other, and clearly a happy birthday writing behind the table, quite large with white balloon decoration and red roses.

When distracted by the writing, suddenly from where they both stood to the table in front of them a path from a small light was formed, next to him are many roses arranged so that it adds a romantic impression on the place they stand.

At the sight of it all unconsciously Dian shed tears, not sad but happy. He turned to look at Ivan, looking at his face full of happiness.

“sayang..” he said gently while hugging Ivan tightly.

Ivan replies with a smile, Dian who is still carried away with the atmosphere should hug him again. Hugged very tightly the sign that she was happy with everything Ivan had given her tonight. Ivan returned his lover's embrace, gently holding and stroking his lover's head as a sign that he loved her dearly.

Ivan took hold of her lover's face and wiped away her happy tears, then he turned her face to her for them to look at each other. In a soft voice he said “surprise”.

Ivan then held his lover's hand, they walked along the path formed by a small lamp and a red rose that accompanied them both. Arriving at the table, Ivan politely pulls out a chair for Dian and prepares him to sit on that chair. Ivan sat in the chair right in front of him. They sat looking at each other, their eyes unwilling to turn in the other direction just like that until the waiter came to bring a birthday cake.

Seeing the waiter coming makes Dian happy, a French chocolate cake is served right in front of him. Ivan also said to his lover while reaching for his lover's hand on the table, they held each other. “happy birthday dear.” Ivan said he continued by kissing his girlfriend's hand.

Once again Dian unconsciously shed happy tears. The tighter his hand was a sign that he loved Ivan very much.

After that, the waiter who uses ‘ European-style waitresses that play a classical music adds a romantic impression in that place.

Ivan and Dian look happy, they talk about themselves, the first time they met to fall in love with each other like now. Before long the waiter came back and brought the French food they had eaten at the restaurant some time ago. Dian greedily ate the food full of happiness. Only happy people can describe the mood tonight.

After a romantic dinner, Ivan again gives a gift. He pulled out a small box from his pocket. Then give the box to her lover, it looks Dian is unable to resist all feelings of happiness since she first opened her eyes. The highlight when he opened the box, looks a ring. “that's a sign that I'm serious and love you very much.” Said Ivan.

“ahh.. Dear..Thanks.” Reply Dian with a soft tone.

After that they both went inside the Villa . Inside Villa Ivan introduces the chef who cooks for both of them and Dian praises the chef's cooking. The two of them continued the romantic evening with a birthday cake in addition to warm tea. Perfect night, that's what Dian's thinking right now.

“why? It's not better we stay here tonight.” Reply Dian.

“no darling. I don't want your Dad to worry.”

After explaining the situation, they decided to return. For the last time Ivan will take his lover home safely. That's how a real man should be, not touching his woman without her father's permission, without any sacred bond binding them.

Dian is increasingly convinced that Ivan is a good man who does not aim for anything from him, which Ivan does is a form of deep feelings for him.

On the way home, due to distance and possibly fatigue Dian fell asleep. Ivan turned to look at his lover who was sound asleep, suddenly he shed tears, just kept flowing while he was driving, but something was wrong. He cried not because he was happy, but because he was sad and disappointed.

It's almost 1 pm at last they both arrived at Dian's house. Ivan wakes his sleeping lover. Dian woke up and saw that they were already in front of his house.

He got out of the car as did Ivan. Dian hugged Ivan and said that he was very happy tonight. But for a moment Dian turned around and was about to enter his house. Ivan grabbed and held the hand of his lover, Dian turned back and Ivan immediately hugged Dian tightly. Hugging Ivan whispered something to Dian.

Dian who heard Ivan's words was surprised, his eyes that had withered from fatigue suddenly widened and after digesting Ivan's words, his tears flowed, quite profusely this time. From the look on his face it was clear he was unhappy, he was crying because of the words of Ivan.

Dian couldn't believe what he heard from Ivan. Ivan took off Dian's embrace and turned around, looking Ivan down and very clearly he could not help but cry.

Ivan Weeps at the circumstances that make him have to say the fact that this greeting breaks his heart, it then makes Dian still in disbelief after hearing it.

Ivan turned around while Dian could do nothing, Dian fell to the ground as if unable to accept the reality. He kept crying, his tears kept coming out unable to stop while Ivan was already in the car. Just like Dian, her tears couldn't stop either. In a chaotic mood she leaves Dian sitting right in front of the fence of her house crying over the situation.

It's 1 o'clock but I'm still on campus with the committee's friends, we are currently in an evaluation meeting related to the event that will be held. We deliberately overtime so that we can work on all the properties that will be used at the event later on time. While I was focusing on what I was doing, my smartphone rang. “iya hello Van.” Arman answered Ivan's phone.

“Arman..” he said softly.

“iya Van's.. How's surprise? Success yes?” ask Arman.

“ended Man.” Reply Ivan.

“hah.. Ends.. Ohh it's over, Van. Congratulations well, surely your girlfriend was very happy yah.”

“aku has broken up Man.” Ivan said with a heavy voice.

“hah.. Breakup.”
