Starting a New Story

It's now nine o'clock over thirty minutes. Stella walked back and forth restlessly in her study. Every now and then, he would peek out and check into Davin's room whether the man had come or not. Almost three hours into the restless wait, Stella begins to realize that something is wrong with the man. Davin is not usually late to work for up to three hours. Stella believes there must be something going on with Davin.

Not seeing Davin's nose, Stella decided to meet Davin's subordinates who were usually in charge of receiving calls from Davin's important clients.

“Good morning, Miss Stella. Is there anything I can help you with?” tanyakanya.

“Good morning. I'd like to ask, do you know where Mr. Davin is right now? Maybe he called you and said if he's permission or something,” asked Stella.

“Pak Davin is in a job out of town at the moment.”

“Work out of town? Why wasn't I told? Am I not his secretary?” stella was confused. During one year of working with Davin, Davin never once went out of town without notice to Stella.

“Sorry, but that's all I know.”

“Alright, then. Thank you,” said Stella then returned to her study.

Stella did not give up. He also checked Davin's schedule which he usually recorded. In his notes, there is not a single schedule that mentions that Davin has a job out of town in the near future.

Stella's heart stopped beating as she recalled that Davin left last night after she went downstairs to talk to Garry.

 “Did Davin deliberately avoid me?”

Although it sounds silly, Stella believes in her intuition.

Last night, Davin said that if Stella still loved Garry, Davin would give up. And stupidly, Stella did not give a definite answer to Davin. ‘He must have avoided me because I didn't give him certainty,’ Stella thought.

Without thinking, Stella then contacted her mother.

“Hello, Stella. What's up?” ask as soon as their phone connection is connected.

“Ma, I heard from one of the office employees that Davin was out of town. But, Davin has no work schedule out of town. Is it possible for Davin to return to Jambi?” ask Stella 

“Wait, wait. What happened?” ask Dini confused.

“I don't know either, Ma. I think Davin is avoiding me,” Stella, trying to hold back her emotions so she doesn't cry.

“Stella, you calm yourself first. Mama will find out what happened,” Dini said.

After Stella thanked him, Dini turned off their phone.

Within fifteen minutes, Stella found her phone ringing. Without wasting much more time, Stella raised a call from her mother.

“Ma? Does Mama know where Davin is?” ask Stella.

“Mama gets information from Davin's parents that Davin is currently calming down. Davin thinks you received Garry's proposal,” explains Dini.

Stella rubbed her face in frustration. “But, I don't accept Garry, Ma,” whine Stella.

“Do you know where Davin might be at this time to calm down? If you know, why don't you just meet him?” mother's advice.

“Ma, it looks like I know where Davin is at the moment.”

As if knowing where Davin was, Stella hurriedly booked a plane ticket heading to the island where she used to calm herself down. He doesn't want to waste much time anymore. He had to explain everything to Davin before he was too late.

The intuition of someone who is in love is never wrong.

Stella breathed a sigh of relief when she saw Davin standing by the beach saying about her sadness as if she was telling a story on the waves that swept her feet.

Davin's position on Stella's back made the man not yet aware of Stella's presence. Taking a deep breath, Stella walked up to Garry and stopped right behind him.

“I love you, Vin,” said Stella suddenly. He hugged Davin from behind. He could feel Davin's body stiffening right as he hugged the man.

Davin held his breath. He was shocked when he heard the voice and thought he was hallucinating. However, the embrace on his body felt very real. But after flipping his body ....

Davin is greeted by Stella's kiss. The man could only widen his eyes while processing what was going on. ‘How can Stella know I'm here?’ ask Davin inwardly.

“Stella? You're real? I'm not dreaming?” ask Davin as soon as Stella ends the kiss.

Stella smiles. “I'm here, Vin. For you.”

“Wait, wasn't it last night you and Garry ...” Davin stopped his line, unable to talk about what happened last night.

Stella shakes. “I rejected Garry's proposal. I told her I didn't love her anymore,” explains Stella.

The disappointment that initially controlled Davin's heart was slowly replaced with a passionate happiness. A smile she could not take anymore. She looked at Stella with a happy smile.

“You know why I turned down Garry?”

“Why?”

“Because I'm now in love with you. How could I have married another man when you were the only one who filled my heart this time?”

Davin cupped Stella's face, then landed a kiss on her lips.

“I love you so much, Stella.”

“I love you too, Davin.”

That day, in the place where their closeness began, the two lovebirds also began a new story. They don't know what's going to happen in the future. But one thing is certain, they will always accompany each other until death separates them.

Stella smiled broadly along with her fingers interlaced with Davin's fingers.

After a storm ravaging her heart, Stella finally gets a beautiful rainbow that will decorate her life with Davin.

Stella's heart may have been broken. But, he believes that Davin can restore the pieces of his heart that were once broken to become whole again.
