Stella hugged her body as she walked through her parents' tea garden. The woman took a deep breath, filling her breathing cavity with the fresh air of the countryside.
Being in the hometown in recent days seems really able to calm Stella's mind. Although the pieces of his heart that Garry had destroyed could not be cured, at least now Stella was not so moody anymore.
Instead of locking up in her room, Stella now spends more time walking around the house or in the tea garden like what she does today. Fusing with the surrounding nature managed to calm Stella's troubled mind.
On the south side of the estate, there was a flowing river.
Stella stepped her feet up there, then sat on one of the large rocks located by the river while putting her feet into the river water, letting the water sweep her soles.
The woman smiled broadly as she closed her eyes. Years of living in the city to study, Stella has long not felt the calm that only she can get in the countryside.
Opening her eyes, Stella looked at her watch. It's four in the afternoon. He stood up and rushed home.
“You from anywhere, Stella?”
Early Questions welcome Stella's arrival.
Stella turned her head, then approached her parents who were sitting relaxed on the sofa of the family room.
“I went to the plantation, then to the river for a while,* replied Stella. “Nostalgia. I used to play on the river before I left for the city.”
Anton chuckles. “Sini, sit. Your mother cooked a roasted yam earlier. It feels delicious,” praise Anton while carrying a bowl of baked sweet potato made by the wife.
Stella nodded, then sat down next to Anton and grabbed a piece of baked sweet potato made by his mother.
“How? Delicious?” ask Dini.
“Lezat once, Ma. Mama's food is the champion!” reply Stella while lifting her two thumbs up.
Stella, Dini, and Anton also spent the afternoon chatting while enjoying Dini's homemade baked yam.
In the midst of their conversation, Stella suddenly fell silent. Early in the first to realize this then elbowed her husband's stomach and with the look of her eyes she told her husband to look towards Stella.
“Stella, you shut up a lot after you get home. Are you sure there's nothing with you?” anton asked, making Stella suddenly look at him.
Stella bit her lower lip, wondering if she was going to tell a story or not. But, honestly, Stella had thought that she would tell her parents about her problem with Garry. Stella was just confused to find the right time. And maybe ... Now is the time.
“You know that you can tell us anything, right? We are your parents. We will surely listen to your complaints, dear,” said Dini with a gentle smile.
Hearing his mother's statement, Stella troughs. His heart trembled while his lips curved upwards forming a smile. He was overwhelmed by her mother's words.
“Are you and Garry—”
“I can't continue our relationship, Pa, Ma,” Stella said quickly, cutting off her mother's speech.
Dini and Anton were shocked when they heard Stella's words. The couple exchanged glances, then looked at Stella in confusion. Just now they were about to ask about the continuation of the relationship Stella and Garry, just the news of separation they got.
“What happened, Stella? You've been dating for three years. Mama is sure if you might not want to part if there is no strong reason,” asked Dini.
Stella took a long breath. “I have a reason, Ma. But, if I tell you guys, promise me that you won't get mad?”
“What's your reason, Stella?” timpal Anton, narrowed his eyes while rubbing his chin.
“Garry cheated,” replied Stella.
Dini and Anton gasp. Their eyes widened upon hearing that. They had doubts about Stella's words because they had known Garry long enough. However, they realized that their daughter could not possibly accuse someone without clear evidence.
“Since when?” ask Anton.
“I don't know since when.” Stella flicked her shoulders, then continued her sentence, “What is clear, a few days ago I caught Garry making love to a woman. Worse still, that woman was my own best friend, Feby.”
Stella's parents looked surprised to hear it. They were upset with Garry. It felt like they were cursing at Garry who had dared to hurt their daughter.
“How dare he hurt you! Did she forget that you were always there for her all this time?” cerca Dini, annoyed not playing with what has been done by Garry.
“Then, have you ended your relationship?” sahut Anton's.
Stella shakes. “Not yet. I intend to return my pain to Garry first before I end our relationship, Pa.”
Anton smiles. “Whatever your decision, we will support you, Stella.”
