“Pak Garry, you are called to face the director room,” said an office boy.
Garry frowned. “Do you know why I was called?” garry asked confusedly.
Office boy was shaking. “Sorry, Sir. I've only been given the order to call you. Then, excuse me,” he replied.
“Thank you,” reply Garry.
After the office boy left, Garry stood up. The man tidied his tie before exiting his study. Regardless of the gazes of the people who still scorned him, Garry walked towards the director's room which was on the highest floor of the company building.
Gts ... Gts ... Gts ....
After knocking on the door, Garry silently stood in front of the director's room. Not long after, there was a voice commanding him to enter.
Stepping into the director's room, Garry found his boss was busy reading the documents on the desk. Garry's heart was pounding. For some reason, he felt that a cold aura filled the room. Garry's feeling suddenly became unpleasant. What was the reason his boss called him?
“Good morning, Sir. Are you really calling me?” ask Garry.
“True.” Garry's superior lifted his head, then closed the document he had been reading. “Sit. There are a few things I want to talk about.”
Garry nodded. He obediently sat down on the chair across from his superior's desk. Garry took his saliva. The gaze of his superior really seemed like it wanted to skin him.
“Directly on the point only, I do not want to talk convoluted,” said Garry boss.
Garry remained silent, waiting for his superior to continue his sentence. He did not intend to interrupt for a second because he was already very curious about the purpose of his superior calling him.
“In this company, reputation is something very important. And unfortunately, you have tarnished the reputation of this company with the viral incident that befell you.”
Garry held his breath. In his heart, he prayed that he would not be fired. Garry didn't know if the incident would also affect the company.
“I'm really sorry, sir. I absolutely do not intend to damage the reputation of the company,” Garry said in a trembling voice.
“I'm not done talking.”
“Sorry, Sir.”
“Usually, I wouldn't have to bother to call an employee who made a mistake to my room. I will order the HRD to fire and the matter is resolved. But, you are an accomplished employee. I can't possibly fire an employee who has contributed greatly to this company.”
Garry's superior shook his head. “No. Make this a warning for you. If you make the same mistake, I will not give you another chance,” explained Garry's superior firmly.
Garry breathed a sigh of relief. He was happy because he was still given the opportunity to work.
The opposite happened to Feby.
The blasphemy from the people scared Feby. The woman even kept herself locked up in her room. Feby did not even dare to come to the office for fear that people would come back to scorn him.
Because a few days did not go to work, this morning Feby got a call from the HRD.
“Good morning, Ms. Feby,” greet HRD.
“S-good morning, Sir,” replied Feby staggered.
The woman bit the tip of her nail. Two days ago, he got a warning letter from the office sent to his boarding address. The warning letter was an order for Feby to leave for work if he did not want to be fired. But Feby's fear was so much greater that she did not take orders from the office.
“I'm calling to convey if starting today you're not part of company X anymore. You we fired. The rest of your salary will be paid according to the specified date. Thank you,” explained the HRD then turned off the phone without waiting for a reply from Feby.
Feby keeps the phone away from the ear. His eyes stared blankly at the wall of his room. Not only has Garry lost and ruined his friendship with Stella, Feby has lost his job as well. Feby doesn't know if he can live after this.
“I have to apologize to Stella if I don't want karma to keep coming to me,” Feby murmured. “Hopefully Stella number is active now.”
In recent days, Feby has been trying to contact Stella, but Stella's number has never been activated. The woman thought that she wouldn't be able to live a quiet life if she hadn't already obtained a pardon from Stella.
“Halo?”
The greeting made Feby feel happy because his phone was finally picked up by Stella.
“Stella, I want to apologize to you. I know I made a big mistake. I'm really sorry,” pinta Feby.
Breathing sounds from across there.
“Stella, will you forgive me?” ask Feby.
“I can't forgive what you and Garry did,” Stella replied firmly then turned off the phone unilaterally.
