EP.26 Family dinner

Every morning Lyra cooks food aided by the waiters. Cooking the food that her mother-in-law likes of course, and it makes Lyra have to be extra patient to serve it and hear her comments. Plus the knowledge he got from cooking courses made him understand more and more how to process food.

James could not refuse it because the obedient Lyra did it sincerely. To be honest, she couldn't bear it, because Lyra cooked and did everything her mother asked. But he also does not want Lyra to have problems with her mother which makes it more difficult for the girl to face her family. Though there are many servants that he can ask, but what is the motive of his mother doing this to Lyra?? a number of questions came to James's mind.

Until a cooking menu was presented at the table. Menu that suits his mother's taste of food is the average western food. European dishes are honestly not so liked Lyra but she must know him and also eat it every morning. It feels if he can choose he wants to eat local food in warteg alone rather than eating outdoor food that is less fitting on his tongue. Although delicious, but still local food can not be replaced for Lyra.

After breakfast, James drove Lyra to her college with Ben every day. And Lyra always asked to be dropped off before her college because she hated being the center of attention. She argued with James about it.

"Ck. the girl was so stubborn.What people were talking about her" James said after Lyra came down.

"Should I step in to find out, sir?" ask Ben.

"Yes find out, because I don't want to see him exhausted every night" James said.

"You seem to have been a good husband" Ben said.

"Silence you ben..! I'm just keeping it in my charge." James said, leaving Ben speechless.

If not superiors maybe Ben will continue to tease him until James realizes that he is starting to be interested in Lyra. Ben drove the car safely to the office. And James is again preoccupied with a number of his agenda.

Lyra also walked a short distance to get into the campus. He was tired of being gossiped about by other kids. And of course this is the act of candy aka Candy who does not like to see Lyra adopted by a rich family. And Lyra was always picked up by a fancy car, making her unable to bully her anymore.

"Ck.. Did you get dumped by your sugar daddy?" ask Candy as Lyra passes in front of her.

But instead of answering, Lyra continued to walk and did not budge with Candy's question. While Candy is getting upset because she can't face Lyra.

"Cih.just become arrogant savings.." said Candy.

"Who's the mistress?" ask Fero from behind.

"It's none of your business, brother." said Candy and left.

While Fero knows exactly all the skewed gossip about Lyra comes from Candy. Fero also tried to brush it off but the human mouth could not be closed easily. Fero had to keep Lyra's marriage a secret from campus.

That's how Lyra faces Candy every day. Despite this and that rumor, Lyra remained silent and unmoved. He has two loyal friends, Dion and Santi.

"Hi guys.your tumben is here early in the morning" said Lyra.

"Yes, this is because the Dion. early in the morning has been picked up.." said Santi.

"Well, where's your driver going San?" ask Lyra.

"He is on leave he said his son is sick in the village" said Santi.

"It's good that I picked it up and protested" Dion said.

"Yes, thank you Dion." said Santi.

"Hmm. You guys have been getting along for a long time." seduced by Lyra.

"I'm with him..?" santi and Dion said at the same time.

"That's all compact." said Lyra with a big smile.

"Sad.. Santi's got a girlfriend so where is possible. I'm not a pebinor either." said Dion.

"Yes.it's true." Santi told a lie.

"OK.. then I'll be in the middle so you don't fight" said Lyra sitting between the two of them.

The lesson was over, and they planned to go to a cafe to do some group assignments with other students. Until finally time moves fast. Their job was completed on time and they immediately went home because it had started the night.

"We go home first Lyr, .." Dion told Lyra.

"Okay. careful." said Lyra.

Then his phone rang and James' name again appeared.

"Hurry up to my car in front of the cafe." said James.

"What?? since when?" ask Lyra and look in front of the cafe and see James' car. There Ben also opens the window glass for Lyra to recognize him.

"Hurry up. We don't have time" James said, turning off the phone.

Lyra approached them and got into the car.

"What's this?" ask Lyra.

"Follow me having dinner with mom." said James.

"But my clothes?" tanya Lyra saw how it looked.

"So I came so you wouldn't look so bad" James said, giving a paper bag of clothes.

"Okay, thanks.." said Lyra.

"You go to the salon first, and remember it's only 1 hour." said James.

"All right" said Lyra.

Lyra is escorted to the salon by James and Ben. And according to James' order that Lyra should be dressed for less than 1 hour. They both waited from the car because James hated being in the salon because he would be seduced by soft-boned people.

"Ck. a long time ago." grumbled.

"This man is only 15 minutes" said Ben.

"For me it's been like 1 hour" James said.

Ben also just sighed to see his master who was always impatient. Though he gave an hour but complained when only 15 minutes.

45 Minutes later, Lyra was out of the salon and was neatly dressed by James. He was self-sufficient by make up artists with the supernatural maybe until everything became faster. Lyra knocks on the door and Ben unlocks the key.

Lyra got in and sat in the car.

"It's good you're done" said James.

"Yes.everything is faster because I asked for a natural theme" Lyra said.

"Well, you are now very compatible with the lady sir." said Ben who saw from the rearview mirror.

"Well Ben let's go" James said without seeing Lyra beside him.

Until they arrive at the restaurant, and Lyra gets out of the car. Ben opens the door for Lyra and James sees his wife clearly. Very beautiful and different than usual. What do salon people use to turn their wives this pretty? that's what James thought. Until James is not shy to hold his hand, because usually he is reluctant to do it because the age difference is so clearly visible.

"They work well, you look classy" James said.

"Of course they'll pay you." said Lyra.

Lyra who likes not to be out of thought with James who likes it arbitrarily. He who was tired suddenly had to come to dinner without any preparation. Not to mention that he faced was his mother-in-law who had super sharp eagle eyes that could see a small mistake.

"Come Lyra. It's just dinner." Lyra murmured inwardly.

Lyra also entered the restaurant in conjunction with James as a real husband and wife. And her mother-in-law was waiting for her with a glass of wine.

"Finally you guys come too. Please sit down and we order the menu." said Vina.

They ordered a menu and waited. While waiting again Lyra was skinned from head to toe by Vina.

"Lyra, your look is charming tonight, but it should be that if you have dinner you can look more mature" Vina said.

"Well mom I'll remember." said Lyra.

"And if you attend a party you also have to wear the right makeup, you have to make yourself look elegant according to the theme of the party" said Vina.

"Mom. stop nagging." said James.

"Mom only taught Lyra about the association of the upper people so that she did not have trouble later" said Vina.

And Lyra kept hearing and remembering her mother-in-law's words about the party and dinner. Now Lyra no longer looks embarrassing because it already understands table manner and other rules.
