EP.19 The Marriage Plan

James worked day and night at his house to make sure his grandfather was okay. He was still reluctant to take his grandfather to the hospital because of trauma someone wanted to harm him. And every night he always came to his grandfather's room to check his condition.

The nurses were assigned alternately to standby in Robert's room at James's behest. Although the condition is not serious, but Robert's health has not returned completely. That's where James asked his current condition to the nurse who looked after his grandfather.

"Sus, how's grandpa today?" ask James.

"Mr Robert is fine, just his appetite is down" the nurse said.

"Well, you come out for a minute I want to talk to him" James said.

"Okay sir, excuse me" the nurse told James.

After the nurse came out, James approached his grandfather's bed. He stared at the old face that always invites him to fight every time in the past. He even missed his chatter which now makes the house feel quiet.

"Sad, you can be sad too" Robert said as he opened his eyes.

"Grandfather..how is his condition?" ask James.

"I'm fine." said Robert.

"Why has grandpa been eating her a little lately?" ask James.

"Especially if it wasn't for you." said Robert.

"I'm not going back to Camila even if she's released" James said.

"You sure?" ask Robert.

"Yes, I realized that he was not trying at all to be accepted by grandfather." said James.

"It's so hard to make you sober, that your grandfather had to be close to death" Robert said.

"I'm sorry cake.I regret everything." said James.

"Marry the woman of grandfather's choice, so that my life is calm" said Robert.

"Married? why suddenly? and getting married is not easy cake." said Robert.

"Yes, at least Grandpa wants you to forget about the girl" Robert said.

"Alright, but I'll choose my own candidate" James said.

"Who's candidate? there already?" ask Robert.

"Not yet, but I must have found it." said James.

"Cubery 1 year, if next year still does not exist then do not expect you can run away from my matchmaking" said Robert.

"Well cake, but promise me you'll eat regularly and live longer" James said.

"Ck. I don't want to die, either, you know." said Robert.

James smiled at his grandfather who began to scold him as usual. But on the other hand he also began to have to find the best wife candidate to be accepted by his grandfather.

A year goes by quickly, James is preoccupied with work and Ben arranges a blind date for him. But every time he meets a girl, nothing happens but to be able to praise Ben's beautiful choice. But there was no sense of regret let alone interest.

That's how a year of struggle Ben looking for his master's wife candidate in vain. Even if James dated her it would only last a few weeks because James didn't love her.

Robert then took his promise to James.

"Hows it? why don't you introduce a girl to me?" ask Robert.

"I haven't found the cake yet.Give me 3 more months" James said.

"You suck." said Robert.

"Finding a future wife is not easy." James replied.

"Cubes for 1 month, if it fails then you have to marry the girl of grandfather's choice" said Robert.

"All right" said James.

1 Month later, James was already stressed out looking for the right wife. But Ben never gets a woman who suits him.

"Ben, you're so bad" said James.

"Sir, you're not me, you're not getting married, so why don't you just look for yourself." said Ben who was tired.

"Ck. you've started to be brave to me." said James with a sharp look.

"Sorry sir, I'm honestly tired because many of my best women are not in line with our plans" Ben said.

"Because of you, I have to marry the girl of grandfather's choice." James said as he kicked the table.

Ben was just speechless and downcast, he was sure his master did not blame him completely either. Because James didn't punish her at all and just vented his emotions on her.

"Rage as much as you are, sir, it's your fault that you don't fit in with some girl of my choice." murmured Ben inwardly.

James also admitted that Jessika is his type, although there is no taste in Jessika. Until they finally got engaged. James followed the arranged marriage arranged by his grandfather and Jessika's father. So does Jessika who only obeyed her father, although there was little interest in James.

Until a wedding plan was prepared with luxury. And Simon and Ben will have everything ready. Simon as Robert's right-hand man led his preparations, and Ben only followed his directions.

A dress and suit have been ordered as Jessika and James wish. Both have done fashion fitting and next week will be married.

"I know you just want to make your grandfather happy" Jessika said.

"You're right, I don't love you yet but at least I'll treat you like a wife in general" James said.

"Thank you James, and just tell me if you're bored one day" Jessika said.

"Why did you say that?" ask James.

"Because I'm sure matchmaking without love is hard. Not many couples decide to separate" Jessika said.

"You're acting like an adult like Grandpa said." said James.

"I have to use common sense and rational thinking in every action" Jessika said.

"Well, let's talk about anything later openly" James said.

That was the last conversation Jessika and James had at dinner together ahead of their wedding. Although Jessika is interested in James, she can see that James has absolutely no taste for her so she better be honest from the beginning.

The wedding day has arrived. Everyone was getting ready, especially James, who was at the venue. Seconds passed and everyone was waiting for Jessika and her family to arrive. And 30 minutes before the event began there was no news or the arrival of Jessika and her family.

It made Robert panic because Jessika's father, Mr. Vincen, could not be contacted.

"How is this?? why don't they come?" robert muttered.

"Dad what's wrong?" ask Jasmine who just came.

"Jessika and Vincen could not be reached." said Robert.

"Sir, until now Jessika can not be contacted" said James.

"It's not you, is it James?" ask Robert.

"Not cake, if I wanted to derail it should have been from the beginning" said James.

"Excuse me, sir." said Simon.

"Simon, what's up?" ask Robert.

"There was a letter from Mr. Vincen through his men earlier" said Simon.

Robert accepted and read it. Ternyara Vincen canceled his daughter's wedding suddenly because of an accident on the car they were riding in. The family went to the hospital but all survived.

"This is impossible." said Robert then sat down limp.

"Grandfather." said James.

"Dad. calm down first." said Jasmine.

"How can I calm down? the guests will be coming soon. And if I announce that the show is off, James will be humiliated." Robert said.

"Ck. grandpa don't think about me, I don't mind" James said.

"True kek, James can still marry another girl but not now" Jasmine said.

"How is this?" ask Robert.

"It is.." said James.

"Simon announces that today's event is cancelled." James said.

Meanwhile, Lyra entered the room in search of Jasmine.

"Mother...here and grandpa why?" ask Lyra.

"I'm fine with Lyra" said Robert.

"So Mr Robert do you agree that the show was cancelled?" ask Simon.

"Akhh." said Robert as his chest began to hurt.

"Ckkp.. Simonne..! you don't see the situation." said James annoyed.

The doctor was called and Robert received treatment. There, Robert was limp he could not imagine what would happen after James' wedding was canceled. He and James would be humiliated.

"Grandfather, let's stop this and go to the hospital. They're not coming." said James.

"I don't want you to be humiliated." said Robert.

"I don't have a problem" said James.

Lyra drops the glass she brought to take Robert's medicine.

"So that's why Grandpa's sick?" ask Lyra.

"Lyra, go out first and ask people to clean it up." James said.

"Okay sir." said Lyra.
