Catherine packed her lunch bag and headed for the executive elevator. He lowered his head as soon as he realized that the staff on this floor looked at him as if he was some kind of exotic beast.
Even though their gazes were justified, they must have wondered about this woman who had suddenly worked with Phoenix Master Sebastian without notice, not as active as Diamond, and not a popular actress on the rise like her ex.
However, he also noticed some women giving him envious looks, which Catherine found quite strange.
'Well, basically I'm the maid of a boy with a mood-altering problem. I don't think it's something to be jealous of, ' Catherine thought. 'He really needs to fix the problem. Maybe he broke up with that woman in his heart because he couldn't control his emotions.'
Catherine enters the elevator and begins to remember the little Marco who grew up to a fifteen-year-old teenager. It was the last time Catherine saw him for ten years until he came back.
True, little Marco is a brat who spoils the pleasures of others simply because he does not get what he wants. But he sort of grew out of it by about fourteen years.
'Well, she's still naughty, but at least she wouldn't yell at someone like this.' Catherine thought. She felt responsible for setting it straight because she was basically her nanny for the seven to eight years of Marco's life.
'But how am I going to lecture him? He is a grown up and much stronger than me. I don't think scolding her like I did when she was a child would do anything other than incite her anger again.'
Catherine sighed, knowing there was no way out, at least not now. Marco also seemed to be in a bad mood for a while, so he planned to make something he liked when he was a kid.
"I'll make them that pie. Maybe it'll help them feel better" Catherine thought. "Oh, I just remembered, I have to go shopping first."
**
Catherine goes to her usual grocery store and starts picking up Marco's favorite items. He clearly remembered the brands Marco wanted from what Diamond had mentioned.
"I wonder if he still likes homemade pies like this. She must have eaten a lot of fancy desserts," Catherine wondered, but she selectively checked the freshness of the banana before putting it in her shopping basket.
Catherine crouched down while busily inspecting some items on the bottom shelf when she saw the leg of a woman wearing a short skirt standing in front of her. He tapped his feet haughtily, asking Catherine to look up.
And he did.
Catherine was stunned when she saw the woman standing before her, "Vanessa?"
Vanessa crossed her arms and purposely puffed her large chest under the low-necked top. He looked at Catherine with disdain and hostility, "What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be begging for a chance to feed your daughter on the street?"
Catherine sighed. He got up and busied himself, trying to find the product he needed before going out.
He was already used to ignoring this****, because every time Catherine fought with him, he would always report everything to Marcell. Marcell will always blame her, calling her petty for envy of younger women because she has a better body.
Vanessa is upset that Catherine still ignores him despite being the winner of Marcell's love. He had already been hostile towards Catherine for a while since he treated her like air after some time, so oppressing Catherine would not get the same satisfaction as before.
"You threw away ******, don't you know who you're talking to?"
…
There was no reaction from Catherine. She was still busy shopping for groceries, treating her like air, which made Vanessa even more upset.
"Hey, I'm talking to you ******!"
"What do you want?" Catherine finally gave up on not wanting Vanessa to fuss in public.
Vanessa was a little surprised because Catherine could respond to him in such a displeased tone as if she was not worth her time!
"What's with your tone? Do you think you can talk to me like that? You know I'm gonna be Mrs. The new sebastian, right?"
"Mhm, congratulations," Catherine replied, and she bagged one bottle of baking powder from the shelf. Still ignoring Vanessa, Catherine encourages her shopping cart to continue grocery shopping.
But Vanessa doesn't want to leave the former Mrs. Sebastian is alone. He stood right in front of the shopping cart, blocking Catherine's path.
Catherine frowned, "Move. I don't want anything to do with you."
Vanessa sneered, "Oh, come on, don't act like you don't feel sad. I'm sure you're crying at dinner at night because Marcell chose me, the prettier, smarter woman here~."
"Well, now you get what you want, right? You can have Marcell entirely for yourself. I don't care anymore about the man," Catherine said indifferently. Of course, there was a phase where he was heartbroken when Marcell brought Vanessa home, he was the first person he brought home, he said, and he boldly called Catherine fat and old on the first day of entering their home.
Vanessa is upset that Catherine doesn't seem to take all of this seriously. She refused to believe that Catherine had moved away from Marcell. Who would move on from a handsome and capable billionaire like Marcell? Only an idiot like Catherine would file for divorce just because Marcell didn't notice it. He could suck all the money out of his unlimited bank account and live without fear of not having any money!
Vanessa should be happy that she got rid of Catherine. He knows it.
But something kept bothering him…
Vanessa should be happy that she got rid of Catherine. He knows it.
But something kept bothering him…
"I know you send her an SMS every day, right? Did you call her at night to beg her not to get divorced?" Accused Vanessa.
Catherine felt even more disgusted than angry after hearing such an accusation for being unreasonable and disgusting!
"I filed for divorce. I was still waiting for him to get the letter out. Why did I call him at night, asking him not to? Makes sense!" Catherine denied the ridiculous accusation.
"By the way, you're still in touch, right? You have to tell him to stop wasting time and kill that paper!"
Vanessa gritted her teeth, "That's what I did! I kept telling her to do it, so she could stay away from women*****disposal like you and marry me!"
“So... what's the problem here?” Catherine asked. Both are on the same page.
"The problem is. He refuses to be careful!" vanessa said loudly. He was frustrated by Marcell who still had not touched the divorce papers. He could do it in less than a second, but he didn't!
"I know you've been begging him every night, right? That's why he still hasn't signed the letter" Vanessa said. "Seriously, let him go. Now it's my turn!"
…
To be honest, it was also what made Catherine wonder about Marcell.
Catherine had already told him that she did not need the money. She would not take a penny as long as she got her freedom because she knew if she took any divorce settlement, she would use it as a tool to control her again.
But now, they were deadlocked because Marcell even refused to sign the letter.
Vanessa was also disappointed with Marcell because in addition to refusing to sign the divorce papers, Marcell also reduced the frequency of friendly behavior.
Usually, Marcell can make love to her at least five times a week. But it has been reduced to twice a week for no reason.
So Vanessa accuses Catherine of possibly trying to seduce him into winning him back and becoming Mrs. Sebastian again!
"Well, it's not my problem he hasn't signed the divorce papers. Try to convince him somehow, and you don't have to be hostile to me. You can marry her if you want," Catherine said viciously. But when she tries to pull her shopping cart, Vanessa suddenly pulls the shopping cart, forbidding Catherine from escaping this time.
"Seriously, Vanessa, what do you want from me? Don't you see that I'm busy?!" Catherine shouted as she began to get frustrated. "Don't tell me you've been stalking me all this time?"
"What— EW, DISGUSTING!" Vanessa replied harshly. "I was told by Marcell to go to this market and such! Why am I stalking walking so much like you?"
"Then stop this nonsense and let go of your grip!" yelled Catherine again. The more she lives with this woman, the more upset she gets, especially since Vanessa always reminds her of her failure to control her ex-husband.
Vanessa increasingly wanted to bully this woman to vent her frustration at Marcell. But she didn't expect Catherine to be much colder now. He just cried and trembled under Marcell's gaze most of the time.
'Is it because he is far away from Marcell, so he is brave enough to avenge me?!' Vanessa wonders. Catherine knew Vanessa was doing this just to bully her.
It's always been like that for the last four years. He was humiliated, sometimes physically abused by Vanessa. He tries to fight back, but Marcell always tells him to stop hitting his secretary because he is a valuable asset to his company.
So Catherine let this layered witch bully her.
But now he dared to stay away from Marcell, so he would not be afraid of this witch anymore!
Catherine glanced at Vanessa's hand that was gripping the wagon tightly. She mocked, "By the way, I think you should ask for the ring to your new billionaire husband because I don't see anything in your hands right now, Mrs Vanessa Sebastian."
"You-you!"
Vanessa reacts by pulling the shopping cart, trying to make Catherine lose her balance.
But Catherine releases her grip on the wagon just as Vanessa pulls it, leaving Vanessa hit by the wagon and out of balance.
"AH!" Vanessa fell on her back, followed by a shopping cart overturned and fell on her body. "Ouch! Uh! Urgh!"
Vanessa was buried under the grocery store, and Catherine shrugged, "Hopefully we will never see each other again, Vanessa. Have fun with Marcell. I know you need her commitment so much."
