My brother-in-law My husband

My brother-in-law My husband
Chapter 34

"Sit by my side and let your mother cook."

Amanda looked at her Mommy, asking for her permission. Is it okay to sit next to the fearsome uncle, and Catherine nodded.

"Don't be afraid of him, Amanda. She's your father's sister, Uncle Marco," Catherine introduced the cold-blooded demon to her daughter.

Though, he knew the first impression was not so good between them. He just hopes Marco will tolerate Amanda.

"Father's brother?" Amanda looked at Marco from top to bottom with her male eyes and commented, "But he's so scary, unlike Dad!"

"Heh, it's because I'm not him" Marco replied.

Not wanting to listen to these two boys arguing again, Catherine picked up Amanda and sat her down in the chair next to Marco, "Sit here and don't make a sound, okay? I'll make your pancakes first."

"OK, Mom..."

Catherine glanced at Marco, but she immediately shut her mouth, not wanting to scold Marco because he was truly like a boy.

"Yes, I know. I'll keep quiet" replied Marco. He knew what Catherine was thinking.

Catherine was relieved. He began making Amanda pancakes and did many tasks by making the same banana apple, coupled with a milk smoothie for Marco.

When she finished, she served pancakes to her daughter and a glass of smoothie to Marco.

"Thank you, ma'am!"

"Good."

Amanda and Marco looked at each other at the same time and looked the other way to show their dislike for each other.

"Hmmm!"

"Hgm."

Catherine sighed. He can't do anything about this. Though, he was glad Marco didn't seem to be the type of person who would really hurt a child.

"I'll finish the laundry first. You need to finish your meal first, okay, Amanda?" said Catherine. He wanted to get up from the chair, but Marco stopped him;

"Eat first. I haven't seen you eat anything for breakfast since I woke up" Marco said.

"Yes, Mommy! You can eat Amanda's pancakes!" Amanda added.

"Ah, um.." Catherine wanted to say that she couldn't have breakfast because she was going to spit it all out again. But he didn't want to disgust Marco. "I've eaten before cooking for you, Marco. I'm fine."

"… Eat an apple in front of me" Marco commanded.

"M—Sorry?"

"Say, eat an apple in front of me. It's an order," Marco repeats his command, and Catherine is forced to take one apple and start eating it slowly.

Marco watched closely after Catherine finished eating the apple, and he asked himself to go to the laundry room.

Amanda watches it and finds nothing wrong with her mother, who always eats very little, and usually spits it all out after eating too much.

Mommy tells him that it's just common because Mommy's stomach is so small.

Marco and Amanda sat side by side in silence for a while until Marco said to the little girl, "This place is not a free place to stay. Your mother works for me, and you can't try to defy me, or I can fire your mother easily."

"Uncle Marco is strange" Amanda commented.

Marco's lips twitched a little. Being called Uncle by his nephew felt very strange in his heart.

Marco was not close to his family, so he never met his nephew or nephew from his relatives.

In fact, he knew from one of his informants at Sebastian's house that Marcell and Catherine's daughter was his mother's favorite granddaughter.

"And why am I weird?" She asked.

"Uncle Marco was mean to Mommy, but Uncle also liked to eat Mommy's pancakes" Amanda commented. His feet swung under the table, happily chewing on his own concocted pancakes. "Taste mom so good. Uncle would like it, right?"

"That's pretty good" replied Marco. He took a sip of the smoothie from the big straw, and his lips stiffened for a moment.

"Then why are you so mean to Mommy? Amanda won't let you hurt Mommy!" amanda said seriously, her female deer eyes beaming with determination, ready to protect her precious mother.

"Heh, you have to grow up first if you want to protect her from me," Marco grinned and looked at Amanda with a mischievous look.

For a split second, Amanda thought she was looking at Uncle Marco with wolf ears, like a big bad wolf!

"Heheh, sure, you should. Anyway, I can eat it whenever I want," Marco said and he gestured to bite her.

"Yeah!" Amanda quickly jumped out of her seat and rushed towards the laundry room.

Marco sees the little girl running around to get back to her mother, though he says he will protect her less than a minute ago.

"Now I understand why the little girl became my mother's favorite" Marco said, a faint smile appearing at the end. But her smile dimmed as she realized the girl's parents, "It's a shame I hate her father and her mother."

Amanda enters the laundry room and finds Mommy just finished drying the laundry. Amanda jumped at him again, "Mommy, Mommy!"

"Aah!" Catherine loses her balance and falls into a pile of Marco's newly drained suit and shirt. "M—Amanda, you're going to give me a heart attack!"

"Wuu, I'm sorry, ma'am. But Uncle Marco is so mean!"

"Hm? What's he doing?"

"He ... he said that he is a big bad wolf and will eat Mommy!" Amanda reports. He tightened his embrace on Catherine's waist.

"Amanda will protect Mommy!"

Catherine knew that Marco must have said bad things to Amanda again.

"Don't mind him, honey. But you're okay, right? You shouldn't make him angry. She's also Mommy's boss at work" Catherine warned him. He really needed this job, so he couldn't afford to lose it.

"Un, I'm fine!" said Amanda.

"But, ma'am, why hasn't Uncle Marco appeared at Grandma's house before?"

"That's because he studied in another country. He's smart!" Catherine tries to give Marco a better light, so Amanda doesn't antagonize him.

After all, Amanda hates all her uncles and aunts except her Grandma in the Sebastian Family.

"Do you like Uncle Marco?" ask Amanda.

"Uncle Marco is cruel! He's also a big bad wolf who wants to eat Mommy!" Amanda pouted as she complained. "But Uncle Marco is like no other."

"really?"

"Yup! He's not like other uncles because he didn't hurt Amanda when Mommy or Daddy didn't exist!"

******

Monday morning.

Catherine woke up early. She had to cook a lot because she also had to prepare breakfast for Amanda and her boss, Marco Phoenix Sebastian. She also has to prepare lunch for Amanda because her daughter is a picky eater who prefers her cooking as lunch.

Catherine wondered if she should also make lunch for her boss, but remembered that Marco must have had his restaurant meal that Diamond mentioned. So, Catherine did not need to make lunch because Marco would only eat outside.

Catherine prepared a suit for Marco by putting it in a drawer in front of his bedroom door. He knocked on the door a few times, "Marco, your suit and shirt are on the doorstep…."

"Hrm? Yeah…"

After that, then, Catherine wakes her daughter up and has her wash her face and get ready for school while looking for nice clothes for Amanda and checking her bag to see if she has all the books she needs for class today.

Catherine waited in the kitchen of Marco's penthouse with breakfast ready. Today she makes avocado toast with scrambled eggs and cherry tomatoes next to her.

As requested, she gave Amanda banana milk and a banana-strawberry smoothie to Marco.

Marco came out early, looking handsome and dapper in a gray suit. He was wearing frameless glasses, hair was combed back, and he had shaved his beard. He seemed to be in a good mood today.

"S—Good morning, Marco. I've prepared your breakfast."

"Hm," Marco sat down and started eating toast without a sound.

"Good morning, Mom!" Amanda climbed the stairs after a while, ready with her bag as well.

Catherine smiled and patted her head gently, "Sit down next to Uncle Marco, and eat your breakfast, okay?"

"okay!"

Catherine sat in front of the two, watching them eat breakfast in silence. His lips slowly lifted;

'It feels like we're really a family of three...'

Marco noticed Catherine's stupid smile, and his brows fused together, "What's wrong with your stupid smile? Eat something for breakfast" Marco said.

"Ah, okay…"
