My brother-in-law My husband

My brother-in-law My husband
Chapter 39

"T—T—Wait, don't you think 200 million is too little?"

"No?" Catherine tilted her head. He did not understand Marco's worries and what made him react as if he saw a ghost or something.

"I can save a lot of money and give Amanda a good life later! It's perfect!" said Catherine. He smiled again at Marco, who was too shocked to react. He stood there like a statue—at least a tall and handsome statue.

Catherine walked towards Marco again and tiptoed to hug him,

"Thank you very much. I don't know how to thank you enough for your generosity."Catherine hugged Marco, who was stunned for a full five minutes. He did not know how to react because everything exceeded his expectations.

She instinctively pushed him away, "A-Why are you hugging me ?! Do I allow you to get close to me ?! Back off!"

Catherine was shocked by this man's sudden change in mood. He immediately retreated, not wanting to make her even more angry.

But when Catherine saw his face, she realized that Marco was more confused than angry.

'What is he confused about? He made the contract, right?' Catherine wondered.

"Ah, I will be signing this contract soon," Catherine said. He turned around and put the paper on the table. He takes one of Marco's expensive pens from where the eagle-shaped pen is and is ready to sign the contract.

But before the tip of the pen touched the paper, Marco suddenly hugged Catherine from behind. One hand rested on the table beside Catherine's arm, and the other hand held Catherine's wrist.

"Did you not understand the type of contract you signed?" Marco warned. Her gaze darkened as Catherine looked over her shoulders, and their lips were close. Even Catherine could feel the man's breath blowing at her nape.

"Ah— um... This is the contract you made, Marco. I think it's good. I just need to save a lot for my daughter and me" replied Catherine.

"You made this contract, right? Why are you trying to stop me? Did I make a mistake?"

Marco continued to look at Catherine with his eagle gaze. But he took a deep breath and released his grip on Catherine's wrist.

He doesn't even know what he's doing right now.

Clearly, Catherine had already fallen into her debt trap and would never be able to escape it.

But right now, it felt like he was the one who got stuck by accident.

However, Marco was the man who held his word. Since he offered her a contract, then she could not revise him anymore.

Marco broke away and took a step back. He waited until Catherine signed the contract.

After Catherine finished, she turned around and gave it to Marco, "This is her contract, Marco. I accept all agreements in the contract."

Marco snatched the dossier and checked the signed contract. Once convinced that it could be legally processed, he closed the file and threw it on the coffee table behind him.

Marco stood in front of Catherine and crossed his arms. For some reason, she became worried that she might look weak to this woman.

Marco's gaze intimidated, and his aura would suppress anyone.

But Catherine was much more relieved and relaxed after reading the contract and realizing that Marco did not take advantage of her. At least not everything. He still made a lot of money in exchange.

"Why do you see it that way, Marco? Did I make a mistake?"

"Who will allow you to call me by my first name?" Marco asked, constantly on guard against Catherine.

"You can only call me Mr or Mr. Phoenix Sebastian. You're just an employee, just like Diamond."

Catherine could feel that Marco was angry for no reason. To be honest, facing Marco's mood swings is like walking on a thin thread across a giant abyss. You have to be very careful not to offend him.

In fact, even Catherine did not know what kind of offense she had just committed.

But he complies;

"Understand, Mr. Phoenix Sebastian. I'm sorry for my earlier sassness," Catherine slightly lowered her head.

"Thank you for the contract, sir. I'm forever grateful for your help."

"Why did you take my lunchbox?"

"Eh, I—I just thought you wouldn't—"

"Put it on the coffee table and go" Marco ordered.

Once again, Catherine obediently placed the lunchbox on the coffee table and walked to the door.

After the door closed, Marco sat down on a long sofa, staring at the lunchbox in front of him in a daze. He was still trying to process what had just happened.

"I should have framed the woman, made sure she couldn't escape and apologized for all the insults she had thrown at me, Marco Phoenix Sebastian."

"But what's with this uneasy feeling in my heart?"

Catherine returned to the CEO floor five minutes later. He rushed over with a bag of crackers in his hand. He walked into the CEO's office without asking for permission because he thought Marco was just eating.

Clik.

"Master, I forgot about crackers—" Catherine was stunned when she saw Marco had spent half of the provisions he was carrying and was currently drinking banana milk.

How did he know it was banana milk? Because that's what Amanda drank, it was Amanda's favorite, so Catherine filled three large cartons in her fridge. There was even the same funny cartoon character in the small cardboard that Marco was holding now.

And it wasn't the first banana milk she had because there were two small empty cartons on the table.

They stared at each other for a while. Marco fell silent. With the straw still in his mouth. She watched in bewilderment as Catherine quietly walked to her desk and placed the biscuits on the table.

"I—I'll take these empty cartons, sir," said Catherine. He took out two cartons of empty banana milk and looked at the rice at the end.

"Sir, there's rice on your cheek."

Catherine wanted to take the rice off Marco's cheek, but Marco immediately pulled his wrist. He glared at her as if he wanted to kill her now.

"Who let you touch me?"

"Ah—aku…."

"Go!" Marco shouted and made Catherine stagger at once. He tried to pull his wrist.

"I—I'll go, mr—Please let go of my hand!"

Marco removed his grip from his wrist, and Catherine lost her balance. He fell to the ground first, "Ah!"

Marco watched as Catherine grimaced in pain and tried to get up. He scoffed, "Don't act sweet in front of me."

"T—But I'm not—"

"Did I allow you to speak? Go!"

"Y—Ya, sir!"

Catherine tried to get up with great difficulty, as she was wearing a right, but she struggled and decided to give up her right and rush to the door.

Marco watched his brother-in-law leave his office. He was still trying to process what had just happened.

Catherine now knew she liked the banana milk her daughter liked and ate it in a mess.

It's not a big deal, of course. It can be fun for some people.

But Marco doesn't like to look fun or adorable. She was disgusted just by thinking about it, especially when Catherine saw it. She did not want to look fragile or adorable in front of Catherine.

"Fuck up!" Marco wanted to touch the lunch box of oriental fried rice he was eating. But then stop at the last millisecond and continue eating, "Why is this food so good? Goddamnit!"

Therefore, the demon CEO continued to eat while grumbling nonstop. She thought it was absurd for her to be addicted to homemade cooking of housewives.
