Catherine immediately ducked when she heard the grunt. He was afraid Marco would get angry again if he woke up.
But contrary to his expectations, Marco only changed his position slightly. He moved his injured hand and spread it over his head.
"Well.." Catherine carefully sat down beside Marco's head and grabbed his hand.
He examined the wound and continued to pat the antiseptic-moistened cotton pad on the wound. Marco's brows furrowed, but he did not respond until the fifth knock on the most severe wound.
Marco suddenly opened his eyes, and the first thing he saw was the face of his brother-in-law, looking at him with shock and fear in his eyes.
'Is this a dream?' Marco was pondering in his mind. After all, he had this dream many times.
Same face, same expression.
Marco chuckled, mocking himself, "Even in my dreams, you are still the same…."
said Marco. He grabbed Catherine's wrist and pulled her towards him.
"Aah!" Catherine jerks. He thought Marco was completely awake, and he was scared to death.
But soon after, Marco closed his eyes again while clasping his hand. Catherine tried to pull her hand gently but in vain as Marco tightened his grip on her wrist.
"Don't run from me, not in my dreams. You've long since left me, hurt you a little bit pity me?" Marco angry. She gently placed Catherine's hand on her cheek, so that they could share the warmth together.
"You're as warm as I always needed you…."
Catherine was still trying to process what was going on right now. Looks like Marco thinks he's dreaming. It meant that he had a dream similar to reality like this.
And apparently…
'She mistook me for another woman, ' Catherine thought. Since he was awake, Marco would probably snap at him again. But he was very gentle in his dreams, something that would never happen in real life between him and Marco.
'Ah, Marco has a lot of women in his life. But for a woman to enter her dreams and make her act so tender and loving, that woman must be special, could it be the love of her life?"
Catherine smiled as she looked at Marco, whose concealing expression gradually eased. He stroked her cheeks gently.
While Marco is still busy with his hands, he uses his free hands to continue to care for Marco's wounds until every part of his wounds is healed, the last thing needed is a bandage, a bandage, but he needed both of his hands to wrap Marco's fist.
He tried to pull his hand again, but Marco tightened his grip until he grimaced in pain.
"Don't go. I miss you so much…." Marco murmuring. With his eyes closed, he said, "Why did you betray me?"
…
Catherine could feel Marco's grip growing tighter. It was painful to think her wrist would break, but Catherine did not dare to let out a sound from her mouth.
He endured the pain, afraid that he would wake him up if he shouted and forcefully pulled his arm.
"Did I hurt you?"
…
"If you get hurt, that's good. Since you will understand the pain, I lasted for so long. I want you to understand all the pain. I want you to know that I love you and hate you at the same time" Marco muttered.
Although her grip shattered the bones in her wrist, she gently kissed Catherine's fingers one by one, from her fingers to her pinky.
Catherine flinched as Marco suddenly stuffed his index finger into her mouth. He got lucky and sucked his fingertips like candy, "Understand me, I want you to understand…."
…
Catherine bit her lower lip, so she accidentally leaked her voice and woke Marco up.
Marco placed Catherine's palm on her chest, so that she could feel her heartbeat, "The passion in my heart, is burning like fire."
"I want to hug you with a burning feeling in my heart, so that we can burn together…."
"I want us to die together…."
…The grip on Catherine's wrist gradually weakened until Marco actually fell asleep again, and she was able to pull her hand from her grip.
"Oh, it hurts a lot." Catherine rubbed her wrist before sliding it away from the sleeping Marco. He took out a bandage and carefully wrapped Marco's hand with it.
After he finished, he breathed a sigh of relief and got up from the sofa.
He was about to leave but heard Marco muttering, "Don't leave me…."
…
Catherine crouched down beside the sofa and wiped the sweat on Marco's forehead before stroking his hair, "I will never leave you, Marco. After all, you are still my cute little Marco, who I knew fifteen years ago when you were only seven. "
"Don't be sad about this woman who left you, she's trash. Your sister Catherine will be with you" said Catherine.
Catherine felt relief in her heart as she conveyed the words she had always wanted to say since the first time they met again. It was also the same sentence he said whenever Marco was sad.
"But you're fine now, my cute little Marco," Catherine smiled as she continued stroking Marco's hair.
"I hope you find the woman you love and will love you back, okay? I will always support you."
'Maybe he broke up with the girl in his dream. What he said was extreme….'
Catherine theorized. 'Maybe that was also the reason why he became a playboy and treated all the women so badly. She was very kind and obedient when she was a child and a teenager with me….'
'The woman in her dream must have hurt her heart….'
Catherine took a deep breath. They have so much pain in their hearts, being hurt by their loved ones.
"I can't do anything but take care of you, Marco. But I want you to be happy, don't be an idiot like me, okay? No one will love me. I strayed. But you deserve someone who loves you wholeheartedly" Catherine smiled and kissed Marco on the forehead.
Catherine finally wakes up, takes a spare blanket from the laundry room, and blankets Marco before leaving with a P3K box and a bucket of water.
He gave Marco a final look before descending and smiling, "I'll behave as if nothing is wrong between us tomorrow morning. Please cooperate, sweet little Marco."
*****
Marco woke up the next morning. He felt weak, even a little dizzy. But he had a good dream last night.
She dreams of her lover whispering many sweet things to her, stroking her gently, even kissing her.
Which is impossible in real life, or so he thought.
He got up and sat on the sofa in a daze for a moment. He looked around and realized that he had fallen asleep on the sofa last night, right after he hit the wall so many times.
Marco examined the wall and looked at the cracked wall with blood splattering around it. It looked terrible, even to Marco.
"Urgh, what possessed me last night?" Marco felt guilty for yelling at Catherine and her daughter like that.
In the midst of his dilemma, Marco lowered his head and realized that his bloodied hands had been cleaned and bandaged.
He also had a blanket covering part of his body.
His heart fell as consciousness awakened it. His heart began to beat, afraid that the worst would happen.
"Is he…"
Now she wonders if she had a dream last night or if it was all real.
'No, no, that can't be true. Obviously, that's not true. Imagine him stroking my hair and kissing my forehead!'
Marco was busy with a dilemma in his head. The sound of a little girl's whining sounded from the kitchen.
"Mom, I don't want to eat here with Uncle Marco!" amanda protests, given what Uncle Marco did to his mother last night. "Uncle Marco is cruel and evil!"
"Shh, don't say that, Amanda," Catherine scolds her daughter as she vilifies her employer. "You can wait downstairs, okay? Mommy has your breakfast ready. Mommy needs to cook for Uncle Marco's breakfast and lunch."
"But..." Amanda whimpering. Mother had told him to sit downstairs and have breakfast alone as he would be busy cooking for Uncle Marco and preparing their lunch.
But he was worried that Uncle Marco would hurt his mother while cooking, so he did not want to leave his mother alone with Uncle Marco.
Marco got up and walked into the kitchen to check on the mother-daughter couple.
Marco stood there silently as he watched Amanda, who was holding onto Catherine's shirt as she was busy cooking a healthy breakfast for him.
Marco leaned to the side with his hands crossed. He continued to watch until Amanda felt an unpleasant presence.
He turned around and almost jumped in fright when he saw Uncle Marco.
Marco looked at Catherine for a while before he looked at his feisty little nephew and said, "Sit on the dining chair, don't bother your mother. She's busy cooking."
******
Catherine realized Marco was speechless and felt very awkward due to his sudden explosion last night. But he tries his best not to make it that way, so Marco won't feel too embarrassed in front of Amanda.
Catherine patted Amanda on the head and said, "Uncle Marco is not angry anymore. He won't hurt Mom."
"T—But…"
"Uncle Marco apologized to Mommy last night, you know," Catherine said.
Amanda looked up at her mother, who was smiling. He didn't seem to be worried, "Is that true?"
"Yes! Uncle Marco apologized to Mom, and I forgave him! You don't have to worry, okay?" Catherine tried to convince her daughter and looked at Marco, "Really, Marco?"
Marco's body stiffened, and he nodded reluctantly.
