My brother-in-law My husband

My brother-in-law My husband
Chapter 16

Catherine stood in front of the door leading to the main lobby of Marco's office. He saw Diamond— secretary Marco was already standing inside, waiting for him to enter.

He hesitated for a moment but shook his head after that.

God fucking. Catherine Andersen! It's for your daughter!' Catherine sang in her heart as she approached Diamond.

Diamond smiled at Catherine and said in a formal tone, "Mrs Sebastian, please come with me. Mr. Phoenix Sebastian is waiting for you in his office."

'Marco's waiting for me? Oh no…'

Catherine swallowed her saliva, but she nodded and followed Diamond into the executive elevator. They stood in silence while the elevator went up.

Catherine was a little uncomfortable with the silence, especially knowing that Diamond and she would work together in the future. Therefore, he tried to start a conversation, "J—So, how long have you been working with Marco?"

"Two years," replied Diamond briefly.

"… Then, how many women Marco has dated in those two years—"

"Too much to count, Miss," replied Diamond, not wanting to hide the cold and harsh truth to his Boss' special victim.

"I personally manage the contacts of all the women who have been with him. The longest relationship she has ever had was with the hottest new European actress in Hollywood, which lasted for two months."

"Two months?"

"Yes, Mr. Phoenix Sebastian is a man who gets bored easily" Diamond said.

"His good looks, combined with his successful efforts and other physical advantages made him popular among Hollywood artists."

Catherine was somewhat relieved after hearing that. He knew that Marco was a strong man, just like Marcell, and he was as playful as his older brother.

'If she could only survive for two months with the hottest new actress in Hollywood, she would probably only tolerate me for a week at most, and I would be dumped, ' Catherine thought. 'That's nice. I'll just take my payment and leave it with Amanda. I'll never get involved with this bastard or his brother again.'

Meanwhile, Diamond sympathized with Catherine. She was the one who knew about the true intentions of Mr. Phoenix Sebastian, but she had no right or obligation to tell Catherine about it.

He wanted to save his body from Marco's anger as well.

Ding!

The elevator reaches the highest floor, and Diamond takes Catherine to the office. He knocked on the door and opened it slowly, "Master Phoenix Sebastian, Madame Catherine Sebastian is here."

"Let him in" replied Marco.

Diamond opened the office door, allowing Catherine into the CEO's office.

Catherine took a deep breath and clenched her fists for a moment to gather her courage before stepping inside.

As she stepped in, Diamond closed the door behind, locking Catherine with the demon CEO.

"Welcome back, brother-in-law," said Marco. Catherine directed her eyes at the figure of the man standing in front of the wide glass, staring at the scene of the city below.

Catherine stared at the CEO's broad shoulder in silence for a while until Marco turned to his left and looked over his shoulder, "How about we start with your interview?"

Catherine took a step back instinctively as Marco's eyes framed behind frameless glasses showed a dangerous glint, like an eagle that had found its prey. He seemed to have predicted everything, including the desperate return of Catherine.

Marco turned around and walked to his executive chair. He fixed his glasses and cupped his hands on the long table. If Catherine did not know what kind of man Marco was, she would think that Marco was the right CEO who wanted to hire him professionally.

'Not a pervert who wants to fuck her own sister-in-law, ' Catherine thought.

"Sit down, brother-in-law," Marco said as he pointed at the chair with his chin.

Catherine looked at Marco suspiciously, but obediently she sat in the chair facing Marco directly. He had prepared himself for whatever Marco would do to him now.

But the devil is always full of surprises;

"Your job application letter?" Marco asked.

"Huh?" Catherine's stunned. He had thought Marco would approach him here, at this moment.

But he really asked for his resume?

"I—I didn't bring it," Catherine said honestly. "I—I think—"

"Ck, ck, what kind of job do you want if you can't even give me a resume?" said Marco. He grinned wickedly as he continued, "How can I accept you as my assistant with your unprofessionals?"

"I—aku.." Catherine stuttered, and her cheeks flushed with embarrassment. He lowered his head in shame, "M — Forgive me, Sir…."

Marco chuckles. She was so predictable that it became funny to her, "I'll give you some leniency for now. But you will work with me as a real personal assistant. You need to know that I am an impatient person. I didn't tolerate this twice, got it ?" Marco dictates.

"Y—Ya, Mr. Phoenix Sebastian…"

Marco turned to hold back his laughter as soon as he realized Catherine was taking this seriously. Of course, he had no intention of turning Catherine into an ordinary assistant. She already had Diamond, and she was a very competent secretary.

While Catherine—, her sister-in-law, was a place for her to try new things.

Though, she was curious about some things, "Sister-in-law, do you know how to cook?"

"Y—Yes, I've been cooking for my husband—I mean, my ex-husband, and his daughter for almost the last year" Catherine replied. She's not sure if this will help her in her new job, though ...

"Okay" Marco nodded in agreement.

"I guess you can also do other housewife duties—"

"T—Household duties?"

"Three tasks" Marco said. "I want you to cook for me every day and prepare my clothes every morning. It will be your duty as my personal assistant."

Catherine looks up. He thought Marco was joking, "You.. You want me to cook and prepare your suit every day?"

"Yes." Yeah."

"Isn't that work—"

"Helper?" Marco finished his sentence, and Catherine nodded obediently. She would be very happy to be a maid because it was an honest job for a middle-aged woman like her.

Marco knew what Catherine was thinking, and he would not let Catherine get the relief she wanted, "The first two tasks may be easy, but the third task is what sets you apart from the maid job."

"L—Then, what's the third task?" Catherine asked.

Marco didn't say anything, but he got up from the chair and walked towards the beautifully carved wooden door, complete with a password lock on the doorknob—located on the edge of the CEO's office.

Catherine was curious about that door before. Because antique wooden doors are very out of place in this sleek design office that is dominated by black and white.

Unfortunately, he did not have time to check the door from close range because Marco came too early and called him to peek during their first meeting.

Marco pressed his thumb against the doorknob, and his fingerprints were detected. The door is opened automatically.

Marco pushed the door open and leaned against the door staring at Catherine, "Come here, let me show you the third assignment."
