Chapter 8 - Alice

A bright morning

Adelyn heard the sound of a car from the front, she walked out of the main house. Looks like furniture masons have arrived. He greeted her, apparently young, about the same age as Adelyn

"Hello my name is Noah, Mr Edgar has already told me that I will come to help designers measure cabinets and furniture?" Noah stretched out his hand

Adelyn shook Noah's hand. "Hello, Adelyn, I'm Mr. Edgar's designer." She smiled

"It's an honor for me to work with beautiful women." Noah teases funny

"Hello Noah." Edgar suddenly appears and shakes Noah's hand, after which his hand hugs his waist tightly, as if telling Noah that Adelyn is his girl.

"You can start from the main room on the second floor." She said as her hands remained tightly clutching Adelyn's waist. Noah nodded politely and walked up to the second floor.

Adelyn glared at Edgar and struggled to break his grip.

Edgar smiled with satisfaction then went first after Noah, his lips smiling thinly enjoying touching Adelyn

Why does he keep touching me. He walked while taking a breath to calm his racing heart and held his warm cheek.

For the past few days they have lived together, Adelyn feels very tense near Edgar at the park house. He felt more comfortable when he was in the main house, so he spent more time there not near Edgar

In Adelyn's main room and Noah began to measure, Edgar stood by the door while talking on the phone with Bram. Every now and then his eyes watched Adelyn laughing listening to Noah's joke.

After lunch Edgar remained at the park's home online meeting with Bram and the company's directors through his lapotope.

Adelyn and Noah continued the measurement while having a light chat. Noah is very funny and easy to get along with making the working atmosphere not boring.

It was late afternoon, they were finally done with the day's work. Noah was quiet a while ago. Adelyn was still in the main house cleaning the equipment they used earlier.

"Leave there, prepare we'll go to my office near the new hotel location, your friends are there too. They're only here last night."

Adelyn looked very enthusiastic, she rushed to get changed and picked up her bag.

On the way Edgar was busy with his phone. Adelyn just kept quiet while looking at the window enjoying the view of the village they passed by.

Until Riri's office welcomes his arrival. Edgar headed straight to the office greeted by Bram.

"I'll take care of a few things. You can go around, not far. Call me when you're done with your friend" he said, stroking his head affectionately, then the office entrance followed by Bram. Edgar nodded to Riri as he passed by.

Riri who saw the intimate look and gentle touch of Edgar to Adelyn, looked at her with questioning eyes?

"Son.. We're not dating." Then breathe out slowly. "Let's know Ri, she's been gentle and considerate these days. The cave's defense almost collapsed."

Adelyn was confused by her own feelings. On the one hand he still loves and misses Edgar. But on the other hand the anger and disappointment towards him still stuck in his heart.

"Where are the other kids?" Trying to divert the conversation.

Riri takes him on the road to a small restaurant close to Edgar's office. Local cuisine restaurants are very crowded. Enter Damian's restaurant, Raihan and Dara are already inside. Damian and Dara excitedly welcome Adelyn. They talk about work while eating

"Oia Del, Raihan and Dara's cave will return to N tomorrow. Mr. Hans asked for Mrs Agnes' home design report. Damian same you keep here" Riri said. When Adelyn did not have time, it was Riri's job to take care of all the work in the office.

"Huff." Raihan looked at Dara with a sad face and placed his head on Dara's shoulders.

"So, what's the new news?" adelyn said as she glanced at Raihan and Dara.

"Eidmm... Our dinner this time is actually a celebration, someone's birthday." Damian nimbrung while still focusing on eating

"Let's not hesitate to eat big today. Want to add what Del mumpung no one wants to treat." Damian handed the menu to Adelyn.

Raihan laughed happily as his hands hugged Damian's neck and scrambled his hair. Dara who was sitting next to Raihan smiled shyly.

Adelyn ordered a pack of fried chicken rice along with a side dish wrapped, paid for separately. He thought Edgar had not eaten.

"Bram, investigate Alice. Yesterday the day after tomorrow he set me up by giving me medicine in my drink. Find out and block whatever the plan is."

"Good sir."

Helicopters just landed on top of the hotel. Edgar receives a message from Alice saying she is waiting for him in the 12th floor room of the hotel where Edgar and Adelyn are staying.

Edgar thought of going down for a while talking to Alice. Edgar saw Adelyn looking at the view from the window of her room. Being in one room with Adelyn was something she was looking forward to. He wanted to hold her in his arms all day like he used to.

Out of the elevator on the 12th floor, Edgar knocked on the door. Alice opened the door, straight into Edgar's arms, sobbing.

"Edgar, what should I do. My father will divorce my mother. I ran away from home, please don't tell my parents I'm staying here."

"I can't stand living at home anymore." Still sniffling.

Edgar was close to Alice. He was like a brother to her. Alice is the same age as Adelyn. Before Edgar dated Adelyn,

Alice is very dependent on Edgar, when faced with various problems she always looks for Edgar like a spoiled little sister to her brother.

Alice always thought that Edgar was hers, she always thought Edgar would be her husband when she was an adult. Of course, when Edgar found out that he had a girlfriend when they were in school, he panicked and looked for a way to destroy Edgar and Adelyn's relationship.

Now Edgar is in town S with Adelyn. Alice was furious, with the first plane she flew to the city of S. Stay in a hotel occupied by Edgar and plan this charade.

Even when he went to town S. His parents were fighting, and his father was going to divorce his mother, but he didn't care. Alice thinks it's better for them to get divorced than to fight every day.

"Can you accompany me tonight. I'm so scared of Edgar." Hugging tightly at Edgar's waist.

Edgar's brows furrowed, "Sit down, I'll accompany you for a moment."

"What do you want to drink?" Alice street takes a drink. While drinking he confided about his family problems, of course with spices to make it more dramatic. Edgar listened while occasionally looking at the clock not wanting to leave Adelyn long alone above.

Alice continued to pour Edgar's drink. Hp Edgar reads, he takes his phone and replies to a chat from Bram.

Alice took the opportunity and quietly put a small medicine into Edgar's glass, while pouring another drink in his glass.

Edgar tells Alice to rest, and tries to calm her down. He's going back upstairs. Alice persuaded him to finish his drink first.

Edgar drank his drink in one gulp. Then stand the way to the door. Only halfway through he collapsed on the floor.

Early in the morning Edgar woke up with a heavy head, when he realized he saw Alice sleeping while hugging his waist. They both slept without clothes on.

He jerked the blanket and pushed Alice roughly.

Alice woke up and smiled weakly

"Edgar, sleep a little while longer Alice persuades.You were drunk last night." He explains

"What's going on? Why am I sleeping here?"

He held his aching head.

"You don't remember? yesterday you were drunk and we slept together."

Alice said shyly while hugging Edgar

Edgar pushed Alice roughly. He did not believe his explanation. He put on his clothes and rushed out of the room.
