When to Choose - Adelyn's Eternal Love
Chapter 25 - Edgar and Adelyn at the Hospital

"Two ribs were broken, the spleen was broken. Cracks in the skull and brain hemorrhage." He explained his condition. Bram was furious when he heard the doctor explain Edgar's condition. Goddamn bum!! He knew that he would not leave Edgar with John.

John just had a concussion.

Hearing Bram's explanation his tears could not be contained anymore. He remembers when Edgar was beaten. Will he survive? Why didn't he fight back then.

Adelyn tried to get up but she could not stand up, her legs hurt so much. Jovan picked her up and carried her, he would drive her back into her room, but Adelyn insisted on waiting in front of the operating room.

He wanted to be the first to know the outcome. I want to hear what the doctor says after the surgery. He wants to be close to her. When Edgar was not safe. So he thought his life was meaningless.

Jovan gives up, he asks for a wheelchair for her. Then push Adelyn down to the second floor, towards the operating room. Adelyn sat still, her whole body ached but she endured the pain, she stayed in her wheelchair.

In front of the operating room Edgar's father and mother were sitting waiting.

Seeing Adelyn there Elisabeth could not stand the way to Adelyn, he was about to slap her. However, his hand is captured and held by Jovan.

Elisabeth shouted her anger "This is all because of you! You made Edgar like this. Get out of here!"

"Don't embarrass yourself, madam." Jovan looked coldly at Elisabeth.

"You made Edgar like this! You naughty girl. You even dared to bring your girlfriend here. Don't know yourself!" Elisabeth said as she pointed towards Jovan.

"Stop Elisabeth!!" Henry said loudly. "Take care of your behavior or you're the one who needs to get out of here."

Adelyn sat quietly as if she was not affected at all by Elisabeth's rant.

Jovan pushes Adelyn to the other side of the waiting room away from Elisabeth. He felt very angry, if he did not think about Adelyn's condition he had slapped the old woman.

He saw Adelyn who was trying to endure the pain. Jovan could not bear to see it that way, he persuaded her to go up and rest first. Also to keep Adelyn away from Elisabeth.

"Adelyn, come back upstairs to rest, Edgar certainly doesn't want to see you like this. I'll ask Bram to keep you informed of Edgar's situation." Slowly persuade

Adelyn looked at him and said, "Jovan, I'm not going to go upstairs, before looking at Edgar with my own eyes." He closed his eyes and bit his lips in pain. "May you please get me some painkillers."

Jovan sighed then nodded his head slowly. He asked the nurse who was treating Adelyn to give him painkillers.

Not how long the nurse came and was about to inject drugs to him. "Give me some medicine." He knew the nurse would inject a sedative, he did not want to be sedated at this time. He insisted until they all gave up and gave him painkilling pills

Adelyn sat in front of the operating room waiting. He just sat there and prayed. He didn't even cry.

Bram who was waiting in front of the operating room looked at Adelyn, all this time he saw the love that Edgar poured for the girl. He knew how deeply Edgar felt for him. He would die for her many times.

But this is the first time he saw Adelyn's love for Edgar, he just saw that the girl's feelings were no less sincere for Edgar. He ignored his own health, and endured extreme pain in order to stay close to him. He even protected Edgar from hitting an iron rod with his body when he was kidnapped.

Doctors who treated Adelyn advised them to swap the wheelchair she used for one that could be used for a gender, so as to reduce the pressure on his back and waist Because Adelyn suffered a minor injury also due to the impact of iron on his body. Jovan is looking for a nurse to replace Adelyn's wheelchair.

Finally the door of the operating room opened, the doctor came out and explained the operation was successful but Edgar would go through a period of crisis within 48 hours after this.

Edgar was placed inside the observation room before entering the ward. Henry and Elisabeth went inside first.

Elisabeth stared dislikefully at Adelyn. But Henry warned him with a look 'do not troublemaking here'. He swallowed his anger at Adelyn.

Entering the observation room, the air was cold, He saw Edgar lying helplessly on the bed. Adelyn asks Bram to push her chair closer.

He saw Edgar's pale face.

He wanted to touch his face, but he was afraid his hands were not sterile. Edgar was in a critical period, his immune system was weak against viruses or bacteria.

Slowly Adelyn touched Edgar's hand. The hand that used to be warm to touch him now felt cold. Taking Edgar's hands drooping beside his body, he then put his cheeks on the back of Edgar's hands. Adelyn began to cry, she could not hold back her tears anymore.All that fear, all the pain she experienced spilled along with her tears.

"Edgar... Hang in. You promised you wouldn't leave me." whispered near Edgar, his back shaking.

"Edgar, please.." He still held Edgar's hand. "Have your promise to never let go of me again. Don't leave me alone. I'm afraid.."

"I'm scared.." She's still crying. Adelyn saw Edgar's body fitted with several hoses. He had never seen her as weak and helpless like this. The Edgar he knew was a tough and invincible man.

He sat there for a while and looked at Edgar's face. His heart ached, for the first time he was afraid that Edgar would leave.

After a while Bram looked at Adelyn who was calmer then he said slowly, persuading her to return to her room.

His condition is also very weak and needs enough rest.

Adelyn took a calming breath. Then he agreed to go back to his room.

Coming out of the observation room, Jovan approached her and accompanied her up back to her room, Adelyn's face was completely pale and looked exhausted.

Bram had arranged for their room to be next to each other. They occupy the vvip space.

He had just been lying on his mattress when Riri barged into the room.

"Adelyn, what's going on?" Riri looked at Adelyn who was lying weakly and then looked towards Jovan. He greets Jovan and asks how it happened. Why he was kidnapped.

Jovan explains his chronology roughly. He then explained that his captor and all those involved had been arrested and would be processed legally.

Jovan has learned that the mastermind behind all this is Alice. He had arranged for Alice to be severely punished. And he has arranged that the criminals who kidnapped Adelyn will not survive in prison.

Jovan is not a forgiver, especially when it comes to his loved ones.

At the sight of Adelyn's body collapsing from being beaten by the criminal she was so scared, never in her life had she felt that way. She was afraid she could not see her smile anymore, afraid something might happen to her. He swore inwardly that they would repay their deeds many times their weight.

Leaving Adelyn with Riri, Jovan returns home to take a bath and change clothes. She hasn't really slept since Adelyn was kidnapped. It's been three days now.

He knew before Edgar went through a critical period Adelyn would not calm down. Before Adelyn calms down, she will not be calm.

Seeing Adelyn cry for Edgar, his heart ached. He doesn't understand his own feelings now. He just didn't want to see Adelyn sad and hurt.
