Chapter 28 - The results of Edgar's operation 2

In the morning he woke up and saw the sunlight coming through the window. It shone on the face of Edgar sleeping beside him. He looked gently at her. His face was very handsome, with a sharp nose and a firm face line. His usual sharp glaring eyes made his face look cold but when his eyes closed like now, his face looked softer.

Edgar seemed to know he was looking at him. Slowly he opened his eyes, for a moment their gaze met. Adelyn touched her cheek. Edgar approached to kiss her as he felt the pain of being stabbed. Frowning in pain and sitting down, Adelyn arranged a pillow so she could lean.

"Are you okay?"

Edgar appreciates, then pulls Adelyn's body into his arms and ******* her lips softly. Adelyn felt her cheeks warm.

He smiled gently. Adelyn's cheeks were always flushed red as she touched it, Edgar was especially fond of it when Adelyn blushed in such embarrassment.

He sat down and held Adelyn in his arms, feeling very happy when he woke up to be able to hug her like this.

The doctor came in and examined Edgar. He nodded happily when he saw that his condition was more stable.

Moments later the doctor who examined Adelyn also came in and examined her. His condition has improved a lot. Tomorrow or the day after he can go home.

Bram had also woken up apparently, he was dressed neatly and spoke briefly with the doctor outside the room. After he finished talking to the doctor, he went into Edgar's ward and greeted Edgar and Adelyn.

"Good morning, Miss." Bram nodded towards him.

"Bram's Eve." Adelyn.

He approached Edgar. Bram reported some important things about the company. Henry took over the company while Edgar was in the hospital.

Adelyn, excuse me, give them privacy to talk about the company's problems. He went to the bathroom to clean himself up. While Adelyn was in the bathroom, Bram reported about something that happened in the office, while they were in the hospital.

"Someone checks the office cctv while you're in the hospital. Apparently Mr. Jackson, Miss Alice's father is trying to find evidence to incriminate you, sir."

Alice says that Edgar pushed her down the stairs. Jackson thinks of using the evidence to ease Alice's punishment for kidnapping Adelyn.

But it looks like he found something else while looking at the cctv footage. Luckily, a technician saved the tape. The original recording has been deleted.

"The person who gave and deleted the footage to Mr. Jackson has been fired." Bram added.

Edgar nodded.

Bram showed the cctv footage on his phone, he handed his phone to Edgar.

He saw a picture of Adelyn and Alice on the front steps of the elevator as Alice pushed him. Surveillance cameras in the corner of the room showed clearly what happened that day.

Alice is seen chasing Adelyn down the stairs and attacking her. He beat Adelyn to the ground when Alice was about to throw a punch at him, as He and Bram caught up with them.

Edgar caught Alice's hand that had been raised high. He then threw his hand aside. Then Alice fell down the stairs.

I feel something strange. Edgar replayed the recording as he threw Alice's hand. Her hands dropped drooping beside her body, Alice still standing upright there was no sign she was about to fall, then a split-second pause was then clearly seen Alice dropping down the stairs until she rolled down.

"You also found something strange apparently." Bram sees Edgar rewinding the part of Alice falling down the stairs several times.

Bram handed him a piece of paper. It was a copy of Alice's fetal test results.

"A few days after returning from the hospital, there was a man who came to Miss Alice's apartment several times and made a scene, apparently claiming that he was the biological father of the fetus she contained."

"When Miss Alice was in the hospital for a miscarriage, the man asked the doctor who examined Alice to take a sample of the fetus. The result was positive he was the son's future father." Bram added.

Out of the bathroom Adelyn was about to return to her room next door.

"Where are you going?"

"Anu.. I'm going back to the next room."

"Remain in the next room? Sit here." Edgar told him to sit on the bed next to him.

"But soon many people will come." Adelyn was uncomfortable.

" Come here." Edgar said firmly.

Adelyn nodded her head then walked over and sat down next to her.

Sure enough, shortly after he sat down nearby, Elisabeth came.

"Edgar how are you, baby?"

He asked the nurse in front of his room. They explained his condition, that Edgar had experienced a crisis during a coma.

At that time he had just come home he thought, his girlfriend Nathan called him, he had just returned to the city N that night. Elisabeth accompanied him for a few days. He could not come to the hospital often.

Elisabeth ignored Adelyn sitting next to Edgar.

"Dear Edgar, Alice's mother called to help ease her sentence. Poor him in prison can't eat. Now he's so skinny."

"He accepted what he should have received." Edgar answered lightly.

"Edgar, please think about how you got close to Alice before.. " Elisabeth did not continue, she glanced at Adelyn before you got close to the woman.

"He didn't think about the consequences of having people kidnap and kill Adelyn."

"That's because he's afraid of losing you. Honey you know how she feels about you."

"Mama don't think now my condition is like this because of who?" Edgar looked at his mother in disbelief. After Alice's men beat her up like this. Elisabeth could still say that.

"Edgar, he didn't mean to hurt you. The criminal has no brain. I heard they've been punished as hard." He had heard that the culprit who hit Edgar had already received his reward in prison.

"Mama is sure you've misunderstood Alice, please think about her situation now. Moreover, he finished miscarried your son." Elisabeth added.

Edgar took the paper that Bram had brought, gave it to Elisabeth.

He received the paper from Edgar's hand and looked confused.

"That's a copy of Alice's examination of the child. That kid's not my son."

Elisabeth looked in shock. He doesn't believe, how is it possible? He had thought that Alice's child-to-be would bring them all together. Edgar he and Alice will unite into a family. Now everything seems to be getting away. Even Edgar is hostile now, all because of that unlucky woman*n. Elisabeth looked hatefully at Adelyn.

"Satisfied you are now! You have ruined me everything. Even Alice is now suffering in prison because of you!" Elisabeth pointed at Adelyn angrily.
