When to Choose - Adelyn's Eternal Love
Chapter 22 - Alice miscarries

The three of them are in his office now. Edgar stared coldly at Alice, "what do you want? You can call Bram if you need anything."

"I don't need any Edgar, I just want to meet you. Why have you never visited me?" Alice hugged Edgar, she looked sad, Edgar did not care about her at all, even though she was now pregnant.

Edgar let go of his hug and told Bram to take him out of his office.

He always thought of Alice as his sister no more. And he was still angry at Alice who had framed him.

Alice was furious at Edgar's refusal. He ran out of his office and followed Adelyn. Adelyn is coming down the stairs. He stopped Adelyn and slapped her twice. But he was not satisfied to vent his anger.

Adelyn looked surprised, she wanted to retaliate, but she thought they were being put on the ladder, it was dangerous to fight there, especially Alice was pregnant. He didn't want to hurt her.

Seeing Adelyn not retaliating, Alice hit him again and pushed him, Adelyn screeched in fear, lucky he held on to the stairs until he only fell two steps, his legs seemed to be sprained. He tried to get up, but it hurt.

Alice smiled wickedly, she raised her hand about to hit her head, Adelyn raised one hand trying to protect her head as Edgar caught Alice's hand. 

Edgar is furious to see Adelyn fall on the ladder and Alice is still about to hit her.

He was in the office when one of his secretaries told him that Alice and Adelyn had a fight on the steps.

Edgar was furious, "how dare you!" then Alice's hand was thrown.

In a split second, Alice's brain spun rapidly, and she drew up a scenario in her brain. My chance has come, now is the time!

When Edgar threw out his hand, he pretended to lose his balance and fell on the ladder.

Alice fell down the stairs, trying to protect her head. I can't die! No, it's not time yet. I'm just gonna sacrifice this kid. It does not protect his stomach.

His stomach hurt so much. Then he fainted.

Adelyn looked at Edgar as they stood in front of the operating waiting room. The assistant doctor who handled Alice inside came out and told Edgar that she had miscarried. Alice has lost her baby.

Adelyn shock's. Oh no!! Although she never liked Alice, she felt sorry for Alice who had lost her baby.

Edgar also looked shocked, then his face hardened.

He approached Adelyn. "Go home, there's nothing you can do here."

Edgar expels him, not wanting Adelyn to get involved.

"I'll keep you company, until Alice comes to her senses."

"Go home! Bram's gonna drive you." He says firmly now.

Bram approached Adelyn. "Let's miss."

Adelyn nodded then followed Bram, her legs felt a little sore, seemed to be dislocated when pushed Alice earlier. After a few steps he turned to look at Edgar who was sitting down with both hands resting on his knees. She seemed devastated to have lost her baby.

She lost her baby twice. First when Adelyn miscarried, then now. Edgar stood up and punched the wall. His finger book looks bruised and bleeds.

When she realized Alice was hysterical, she roared because she had lost her baby. Seeing Edgar standing next to him seemed devastated, his cry became even more.

Edgar sat by the bed, he accompanied him.

When the baby was gone, he just felt the loss and regret because all this time he did not pay attention to his son.

Although all this time he doubted the father of the child, but it turned out that the feeling of having a baby was ingrained in his mind, and he felt lost now.

Moreover, Edgar felt that he was the cause of the child's death. The guilt increasingly undermines him.

Slowly Alice kissed. He looked for Edgar, saw Edgar was not at his side he then went on a rampage and threatened to kill himself. So the doctor had to give him a sedative again.

The hospital informs Edgar of Alice's rampage. Edgar came and accompanied him.

When Alice regained consciousness, she saw Edgar accompanying her. He feels very happy. Alice swore inwardly that no one could snatch Edgar from his side anymore.

Edgar was playing by himself. As usual he would sit in his room playing with all the expensive and nice toys. Some of these toys are her fifth birthday gifts. Henry was very royal towards his only child.

But with all the good toys, Edgar still never felt happiness. All the toys were unable to drive away the loneliness in him.

Sayup I heard the voice of Henry and Elisabeth who were fighting. He used to hear the quarrels of his parents. At the end of the day they fight more often.

That day they had a big fight.

Elisabeth cried and ran out of the house, carrying some of her clothes. His father sat in his study and did not come out again for the rest of the day. That was the last time he saw Elizabeth.

Once a bit big, Edgar just understood. His mother left them for his lover. He was never happy living with Henry. Although Henry's love was sincere to him. Elisabeth loved her lover more.

After Edgar was a teenager, his mother returned to his life. Apparently the money from the results of his divorce had been spent by his lover. He left it for a younger woman.

Elisabeth felt she had nothing left. So he began to approach Edgar to secure his old age.

He started to marry Alice.

Alice is the son of her best friend. She thinks of Alice as her son. They are also very close.

Edgar and Alice have known each other since they were toddlers. He and his best friend always thought that Edgar and Alice would be the perfect couple later.

At first Edgar was unaware of the motive behind Elisabeth's return. Since childhood he lived without the affection of both parents. Her mother ran away with her lover, her father rarely at home accompanied her.

He thought Elisabeth would make up for the happy times lost to her life.

Until one day Elisabeth knew her closeness to Adelyn. He didn't like it, the girl wasn't in his plans for Edgar. He prefers Alice because he can control Alice. She knows how Alice feels about Edgar.

He arranged for Edgar to enter the same school as Alice. He wanted to keep Edgar away from Adelyn.

Henry learned of Elisabeth's plan, and he disagreed. He booked a plane ticket that very day, ordering Edgar to move and school to America away from Elisabeth's influence. Stay with him there. Because his company is growing rapidly in uncle sam's country.

Edgar was certainly against both his parents. He will not be separated from Adelyn, although at that time he always refused his declaration of love. But Edgar believes sooner or later Adelyn will be his.
