The Sign of Love

The Sign of Love
Sweet Tea

Shalu took out something from inside her bag and clasped the package tightly. He turned his head towards Relina and Junda in annoyance, for not getting the desired answer. His gaze was filled with hatred and jealousy.

Junda was his best friend from his teenage years and they were still in school. He is the son of a famous food entrepreneur and both of their parents have been friends since they were kids. Although now an adult, Syalu is still cool and spoiled, sometimes even not seeing a situation where he must put himself as secretary Junda.

So far junda has been quite patient, in the face of the attitude of childishness and indulgence Shalu. But this time it was different, Shalu's attitude got its payback. He ignored Junda! I was so upset about that woman's feelings.

Shalu actually only took advantage of the opportunity, when he could not have Junda as a whole or become his wife and companion, at least he was free to indulge with the man anytime, anywhere. Although he is aware that it is a little damaging to his own authority and also Junda, but because he is very accustomed, it is very difficult to control himself.

Meanwhile, Relina and Junda were still conversing while looking towards the outer courtyard by leaning against the edge of the fence. Silence was created between them after Shalu's departure.

Suddenly Junda asked, “do you need something, want a warm drink for example?” His voice broke the silence. He looked up as he spoke and their eyes stared at each other.

“There are yes, warm drinks that we can order and drink here?”

“Of course there is.”

Relina did not pay much attention when they talked since, there were several maids carrying trays, pacing back and forth between them. When a waiter passed by, Junda ordered two glasses of warm sweet tea to be brought to them.

While waiting for the order to come, Relina started the conversation by asking, “I think Miss Shalu your lover and you couple who will soon be married, I see you guys look very friendly.”

“Not, he was my friend since we were in school he was spoiled and wanted to be my companion, but I didn't like him.” Junda answered Relina's question calmly, as if they had been very familiar for a long time. He seemed to be trying to get rid of Relina's guess.

‘Is this your real self, or is it just your camouflage ..?’

Lots of questions that arise in Relina's brain, such as the question ‘why you don't like, isn't she beautiful, is she so annoying, do you have another lover, but why invite me, do you still think I'm a woman of the night?’

Relina did not express all her curiosity because all the questions were personal. She had no right to question it, they were not very familiar and Relina was caught in a compulsion.

Suddenly Sundays some, “do you believe in myth?”

“Mitos about what?”

When asked, Relina recalled, if Junda's father at that time, he did not know what his name was, saying about the myths that his family believed, especially the grandmother. The man explained about the myth of a sign that carried a curse on Junda, so that he could not be married to just any woman. Relina smiled wryly at the making.

He replied, “What is it about you believing when a sailor who sailed the sea east of Greece, then the sailor was lost because he accidentally heard the voice of Lirolay singing?” The girl's laughter broke out instantly and made Junda look at her in amazement.

“Iya, as it were,” answered Junda, he knew what Relina said about the myth that developed on the Greek coast and is still believed today, that the voice of a woman named Lirolay, was, that was heard at a certain moment and caused some of the crew to disappear.

“How about you do you believe?” Relina asked back. “Sorry, I'm not.”

“Why?”

“Now, my parents were not religious people, but they never taught such things.” Relina answered honestly.

He was only used to things that were routine in general. Relina also explained, “anything I know, just ordinary rights, my mother never for example, if there are butterflies that enter the house then say, oh, there will be guests, there will be, it's never been like that.”

“So, as it ..” Junda chimed in while nodding.

“Why are you suddenly asking about this? In the past, your father said the same thing. When you admitted I was your girlfriend. He said you can't get married, with just anyone because of the curse you have, what kind of sign is it?”

“If you don't believe, why do you know?” Junda looked dislike because Relina seemed to mock him, there was a gloomy glint in her eyes. But he felt guilty about this girl because of her pushy attitude and took her to the house of Atmaja and admitted her as a lover.

“I'm sorry, that time forced you, I just don't want you to go, that's all. Then, is there anything else my father told you?”

Relina turned her head and shook her head, then replied, “no. I've forgiven you. After this, our relationship really ended. Don't bother me anymore, as you promised.”

Relina looked at Junda for a moment, the man's face suddenly looked flushed. Then he took the initiative to give a tissue, to remove the sweat that flooded the man's forehead. After taking the instant napkin out of her bag, she reached it out to Junda.

At the same time, a waiter carrying a tray approached and was about to extend their ordered drink. Relina did not realize it, until then the drink spilled into her hands.

“Sorry ..!” relina and the waiter said simultaneously.

The drink spilled on Relina's hand and tissue, while the rest wet the floor, so that the glass did not fall and break.

“I'm sorry, Sir.” The waiter said once again, and Relina quickly replied, “it's okay, I'm wrong.”

“I will make it again, Sir, Miss ..”

“No need.” Junda answered tightly, after which the man's servant left.

Relina wagged her hot and wet hands, looking at the also wet tissue in her hands, she slightly scrunched her forehead.

‘Why does this tissue color become blue?’

“Are you okay? Your hands are hot, huh? Let me see!” Junda said while holding onto Relina's wet hand. The girl immediately pulled back her hand as she did not want Junda to see the marks on her skin, she was embarrassed when anyone saw her.

“You ordered sweet tea, right?” ask Relina. Junda nodded confidently, while looking at him fixedly. His eyes looked as if he said, 'what is it?'

“See, this,” said Relina showed her already discolored tissue. “It seems not sweet tea if the color is like this, you sure not wrong message?”

Seeing what was in Relina's hands, Junda frowned and picked up the thing, she saw for herself the chronology of the incident. The girl was about to give the tissue, for herself and what happened later was, the glass incident whose contents spilled ... Junda understood, that there was someone who might not have good intentions. He had no idea what was the cause and what had been mixed up in his ordered drink, what sort of poison or a certain medicine?

It may not have a color and smell when mixed with drinks or food, but it will react differently when placed on some other object, such as tissue.
