Bitter Tongue In-Law

Bitter Tongue In-Law
19. Expulsions

Returning from the Library, Nuna counted the money from her work over the past few months. The salary is not big and also the needs are not a little make Nuna can only save as much as possible. He hoped that the money he collected was enough at least for the cost of giving birth. For baby equipment he has bought even though not in large quantities.

"Wow. It's also your money." Ms. Ningsih came with her hands crossed in front of her chest.

Nuna did not respond, she kept the money back.

"If I were you, you would have left here a long time ago. You look like shit by begging for forgiveness and a chance to stay. Your self-esteem's gone nowhere."

"I'm like trash? We'll see what you'll do when this shit moves. You know asphalt? Asphalt remains silent when stepped on, but do not forget, the silence of asphalt can also eliminate people's lives. You think I have no self-respect? All right, just think of it. Then how are you doing with Mom? Where is the dignity of a person when justifying all means to separate his child? Slandering the innocent, hating someone for no reason, and making up stories for his victory. We're the same, Mom. Same rubbish, the difference. I can still be recycled. As for Mom, just wait for the time to be completely thrown away."

Bu Ningsih immediately pulled out his horn. He was really angry with the words that sounded from Nuna's mouth. One slap bruised the large pregnant woman's cheeks.

"You are the only one who is ungrateful. Been left to live here, but run."

"Mother is stupid or pretending to be stupid? I'm staying here because the child I'm carrying is Mas Arga's son, I know that. Which creates a misunderstanding between me and Mas Arga, right, Mom. The mother who made up the story that the child I bear is not Mas Arga's son."

The two women looked at each other in suspense when Arga got there and showed a look of wrath.

"How dare you call my mother a fool."

Arga apparently only heard the last sentence from Nuna. The man hates his wife even more because he always sees Nuna at the wrong time. Hatred is becoming more and more today.

"Arga, he took that money from you. Mom saved up after you didn't share her money. But from two days ago the money was gone, and I saw that he was counting a lot of money. That must be Mom's money."

Arga immediately stared at Nuna who looked calm.

"How can you judge what you say is the truth, while you yourself have never seen how and how much your mother saved. I can earn money because I work.  You know that, I buy everything, I can eat, I can buy anything because I work. I never asked for this long with you. So it's only natural that I have money, a reasonableness that I have savings. The money I saw was my savings account. I work from morning to evening for the cost of giving birth to our child."

"I'm disgusted to hear your words. I feel like I have no children from you. Give me back my money. Anything that comes out of your mouth is unbelievable. Once betrayed, once deceived, will surely continue to deceive."

Whether because it was the effect of Bu Ningsih's incitement that was too strong or indeed Arga was upset and angry, the man walked towards the cupboard that Bu Ningsih pointed at.

Nuna tries to prevent Arga from taking money that is not his right, but Nuna's power is not how much it is certainly lost to the strong power of Arga. How hard he tried, as hard as that Arga also brushed off the hands of Nuna. Until finally the man found a double one.

"How many months do you work? This is too much for your work that only guards the library. You, you can get your stash to finance your life. Oh, or maybe he's out of hand," cried Arga.

Nuna did not answer, preferring to take the money in Arga's hands. It was his hard earned money. Arga shouldn't have taken the money.

But who would have thought, Miss Ningsih seemed to know Nuna's intentions. The woman was quicker to take money from Arga's hands. And he ran away from both. Of course Nuna did not stay silent. Although with a slow step due to carrying a large abdominal weight, he tried to get his right back.

Bu Ningsih was about to enter his room when he pushed the door inside, at the same time Nuna managed to grab his hand and with full force, he pulled the hand until Bu Ningsih's body turned to face him. That's when Nuna took her hard-earned money.

"It's my own sweat money, I'm collecting this for my son's birth. It doesn't matter to me if Mom hates me, but don't take my rights. Have I been quiet all this time? Remember, how many people have heard the bad that you cornered about me? Remember Mom, karma always comes on time and on target."

The situation further heated up as Bu Ningsih's hand floated in the air. His intention that he would give a slap failed because Nuna's hand was deftly and courageously blocking the woman's wrist firmly.

"I've said it before, I've been quiet all this time out of respect for Mom. But that doesn't mean you can raise your hand in front of me a second time." Unknowingly Nuna clasped Bu Ningsih's wrist tightly.

"Let go of this pain! You want to be wretched for being disobedient and dare to hurt a mother. You're pregnant, not afraid of quality?"

Nuna took off Bu Ningsih's hand violently. The woman's wrist was slightly flushed.

"I told you, karma is never misdirected. Indeed I thought I would be brave and rebellious like this if I didn't go too far?"

The wordless Arga immediately pulled Nuna's hand violently and carried the old pregnant woman out of the house.

"Go from here! You've acted out of bounds. Who would you dare treat my mother like that?"

"out? Okay, I'm gonna get out of this house."

In the final seconds, Nuna suddenly remembered Bian's words. He could silence their mouths and prove that he was not wrong without having to stay in that house. It did sound very late, but in this way at least he managed to prove himself strong and not easy to destroy. He had already managed to show them that he could survive this far by himself.

Just one more step, Nuna. Just one more step, you can prove that you're right.
