CHAPTER 39

Airin woke up the next morning. She saw her husband sleeping on the sofa two meters from his bed. Airin took a few minutes to realize he was in the hospital. He screamed in pain as he wanted to grab a glass on his side table, Airin was unconscious with an infusion needle in his right hand. Aiden awakens, quickly helping Airin who wants to drink out of thirst.

"When am I here Ai?" tanya Airin who still felt the pain in her head but it had lessened a little.

"From I got you medicine, you didn't realize it. I panicked Ai. I feel like I'm not a bad husband. You got sick like this because of me." Aiden's eyes glazed over. Airin also regretted his emotions yesterday.

"Sorry Ai.maybe I was very tired yesterday, plus the incident.." Airin's voice felt choked when he wanted to call Evelyn's name. He knew he couldn't hate Darren's birth mother. But to be honest, Airin was eager for Evelyn to never appear in his family.

"Already Ai, do not discuss it first, later your head hurts again. Just rest first.and mama's kids take care of it." Aiden knew Airin must be asking the kids at home. Airin nodded.

"You ain't going home yet, Ai? Go rest. Your face hurts more than me." Airin stroked Aiden's tired-looking face.

"I am not sick and I cannot be sick. I have to be strong to protect you and our children. Sleep again." Aiden kissed his wife's still pale forehead. An hour later he came home to take a shower, took Airin's clothes and a laptop for him to work while looking after Airin.

Richie comes to the hospital after he calls Airin who is not usually late to the office without warning him.

"You should have told Rin that you were sick yesterday. You should have kept quiet a lot yesterday." Richie regretted he was unaware of Airin's condition that looked different yesterday. "Where's Darren now?"

"My apartment. You come here if you want to pick up Darren." Evelyn answered casually.

"Love me the address now." Aiden suspects Evelyn is up to something. He will be careful this time. Aiden also seems to have a plan with his visit to Evelyn's apartment.
