The Ocean's eyebrows came down as he walked down the beautiful ring with his fingertips. “I'm sorry. The madness that just happened. For the madness of the last few weeks. Jeez, for the craziness of the past three years.”
Ayunda placed a hand on the chest of the Ocean, stopping just above his heart, which was created just for Ayunda. “Are you okay?”
The ocean shook its head, and laughed briefly as it stared at the brown eyes that were staring at it. Viewing concerns. Perplexities. “Do I look okay?”
Ayunda's calm laughter answered her question. “No.”
The ocean looked down, only to realize that he had pushed Ayunda to his desk. Divorce papers had been scattered under their feet and even now his feet had been stuck to Ayunda's feet.
The ocean stepped back, momentarily touching Ayunda's hand. "I don't think I've felt all right since I let you go. The day I lost a part of myself, when I knew how to fight for it. Yet I was so blinded by the fear of letting you down, and disappointing us again, I didn't even dare to try."
"You never let me down." Ayunda's hand stroked the Ocean's shirt, making her smile.
“Are you still my wife, Ayunda?” said Samudra, those words seemed to grit his throat. "Are you going to stay in my house, share your life with me? Are we going to have children who are either from your secret or we adopt, as well as laughter and love as I promised?”
Ayunda's face now paled, but Ayunda did not turn away. "I'm the one who left you, none of this is your fault."
The sound of the Ocean hardened as guilt and shame surrounded it. "I was wrong, three years you were waiting for me to pick you up. But I'm too cowardly to do it, and too selfish to let you just walk away."
Ayunda closed her eyes, shaking her head. “No.”
“You could have filed a divorce papers three years ago, Ayunda. Give me back this ring. But you've been holding him back all this time. Because I have promised you and even though I let you down, after all, you still trust my promise.”
Now Ayunda trembled, her lips opened and a gentle puff of her breath swept across the finger book holding Ayunda's hand. The ocean wanted to kiss her, sank into Ayunda's mouth and told herself that Ayunda belonged to her.
"When you left, I was looking for a justification. I told myself that you were too fragile for me to fight. That if I force you to stay, you'll be devastated in the face of pressure. But you're not fragile anymore and I stopped looking for justification. You're a very strong woman."
Muscles move up and down in Ayunda's throat. Once, twice, before Ayunda could find the words to ask. "What do you mean?"
"I love you, Ayunda. And I will fight for you."
The heart of the Ocean was pounding violently, as he stared at Ayunda digesting her words and slowly breaking away from her grasp. Ayunda looked confused, knelt down and began to gather the files that littered the floor under their feet.
The ocean ducked beside him, grabbing the hand that was still grasping the files. Panic rises because of Ayunda's silent response, Samudra tries to look into her eyes, but Ayunda returns to tears until Samudra says what he wants Ayunda to hear.
“I know I don't deserve one more chance, but I want one. Since I know I can make you happy, I will spend the rest of my life proving it to you.” The ocean gulped, throwing away her pride, as this time it was her turn to strip herself and dare to take risks. Dare to take risks, because Ayunda is the reward he can ask for. "It may be that the court will grant your divorce, but I'm here, I won't give up. I will fight for you until I win you back. I'm not gonna stop."
Ayunda put his fingers on the documents at his feet. "You're going to accept the court's verdict, including the distribution of property?"
The ocean nodded "Yes." Then he started picking up the sheets. He would do anything to make Ayunda happy.
“Then I will ask for quite a lot.”
The ocean stared at the document in his hand and there was a hint of blue ink littering each of its sheets. Ayunda has changed the deal and asked for…
"Helicopter and pilot" the ocean coughed, surprised but still wanting to grant the request until he noticed the next explanation. "Whoever flies wherever you want, I will take you"
Ayunda. "There's more."
His brows furrowed as Ayunda stopped beside the sofa. “Then keep reading.”
The next paragraph listed another amendment. “Office in Jakarta?” ayunda's writing is increasingly becoming-so in every neatly written note. "Ship, beach house, masseuse, and, of course, one for Nindyra as well. And this is page two." The ocean stood up, then approached quickly. "You're greedy."
"I want to be spoiled, with all you have."
Breathing raced from the Ocean lungs as he grabbed Ayunda's waist with one hand and pulled her, feeling her heartbeat. "I'll spoil you for the rest of my life, honey. But explain this first."
Ocean wanted to hear his explanation, he wanted to understand without a doubt that they had the same purpose.
A soft pink hue appeared on Ayunda's cheeks, hesitatingly she threw away her face. "You have to grant all my wishes written there, and we will continue to be lovers."
"Ayunda.." The name came out like a sharp pebble from an emotion-choked throat. The ocean grabbed Ayunda's chin with a curve of her finger, pulling those beautiful brown eyes closer to her.
Ayunda once again found herself gnawing in tears, but these tears were born of happiness, not sorrow because the Ocean loved her, wanted her, and had come back to fight for her. "All I have is yours, and I don't care about my popularity. Soon I will announce that we are husband and wife so that no one will bother us anymore, but now you must.
“Tanj*ng?”
The smile on the face of the Ocean melted Ayunda's knees and made her wiggle on the chest and sturdy shoulders that supported her.
"Yes. You agree?"
"Yes." Yeah." Ayunda realizes that she would rather risk her heart than let go of the man she loves forever.
The carefree smile shifted, subsiding, as they looked at each other. The ocean swept a strand of hair behind Ayunda's ears, hugging Ayunda ever tighter, the Ocean stepped closer to the sofa and pulled her into the lap. Putting on their forehead and holding her hand. "Be mine forever..”
Ayunda's eyes were shut at those powerful words, the voice almost unbearable.
"Our pledge of allegiance" the Ocean drew Ayunda's hand to her lips, kissing each tip of her finger, each of her knuckles. "Wedding ring?"
Ayunda's eyes opened as the Ocean brandished the slender golden ring in front of her.
“Samudra.” His name broke from the lips with a slow puff that represented relief, hope, joy, surrender, and love, all becoming one. And there's so much love.
“I want you to wear this, Ayunda."
Ayunda's hand had encapsulated the face of the Ocean, the words of Ayunda flowing from the lips between each kiss. "I love you. I love you. I love you. Always."
The ocean was moved, a dark hue lit up in his eyes. "Having lost you almost killed me, Ayunda. I'm not gonna let that happen again. I can't promise you such a story in a fairyland. But I can promise that whatever gets in our way, I'll always be by your side to get through it."
Samudra put the ring on the ring finger of Ayunda's left hand, and recited the words. The new faithful oath. "always. Forever. I love you."
Ayunda took her phone, called her lawyer and asked her to cancel their divorce, then she enjoyed a long, beautiful evening with Samudra.
'Relationship can be successful, there needs to be loving communication, appreciation, and understanding.'
