Before we split up

Before we split up
Chapter - 26th

After eighteen hours and four meetings constantly tying himself to the desk, he was unable to even one more minute locked in a really dull office, after the coffee had given up on him a few hours earlier.

While rubbing the top of his head, he walked into his private room, only half noticing as his employees stared at him and slowed down their chatter as he passed through the rows of employee desks towards his private room at the end of the office. The room was not luxurious, but equipped with clothes and toiletries, there was also enough canned food for him to pass the day.

The ocean turns the faucet in the bathroom with one hand, and pulls the tie with the other.

He would shower, shave, and change his clothes.

He can delay sleep until later tonight, but not by contacting Ayunda. The shadow of Ayunda kept haunting him all day.

Drrr.. Drr...

One call came from Daniel. Samudra took off his shoes, saying, "Gosh, you're really not tired."

Daniel laughed a little tensely and cleared his throat, and the Ocean immediately shook off his drowsiness. “What's up?” ask Samudra's.

"Sir Samudra made a splashy news this morning, I just saw it."

The steam in the waiting bathroom as if it had already called out to him, Samudra heaved a heavy sigh, immediately went into the bathroom and turned off the faucet. "Which newspaper?

"Everything, Sir"

"Yes, you just ignore it." The ocean turned off her phone connection and she rested her body while cleaning herself.

“LIFTER!”

Once again there was a ringing and a graying fingers book on the handle of the phone he was holding. With a suit clamped under his arm, he ran across the office lobby, ignoring the gazes of his office staff.

Just a voicemail on Ayunda's phone, Samudra tried to contact Nindyra, not much different from Ayunda, Nindyra did not answer the call from Samudra.

Ayunda must have seen the news, there is no way Ayunda did not know. Every print and online media across the country has reported on Angelia's pregnancy and her marriage. Even the two news had been confirmed by Angelia's manager. Unfortunately, there is no clarification of the groom's identity, which means Ayunda has spent most of her day believing in it.

Voice mail again.

Damnit damnit! The Ocean's stomach wrapped around hearing a voice directing him to leave a message.

Soon Samudra disconnected and called again, while getting into his car.

One ringing. Start the engine and slowly drive the vehicle.

One more ringing. The ocean slipped a handsfree device into the ear.

“Halo,” Ayunda replied on the third ring, sounding tired and powerless. But after all those unanswered calls, the suddenly connected voice jolted the Ocean like an electric shock.

"Ayunda, believe what is circulating in the media is not true.”

The ocean jerked the steering wheel, cutting the path along with his breath, there came the sound of sobs slashing at him.

“She's pregnant. I heard that rumor, which is why I came to see him. To find out. But let's see if that baby isn't my son.”

Oh my God, Samudra must be in Jogja to embrace Ayunda while explaining. He wanted to hold Ayunda tightly because, Ocean did not want to separate.

But because there were several meetings that he had to finish, he was forced to delay his flight to Jogja. But first he wants to make sure that Ayunda is okay, can understand and trust him. "I swear it's not my son, I'll tell you everything I did during the 'date setting' with him. Ayunda, I don't want—" The ocean went silent while swearing. He did not want Ayunda to read the news at all, because the Ocean knew it would hurt Ayunda.

It might break Ayunda's heart.

Ayunda just fell silent, hearing all the speech of the Ocean.

“Darling, I'm really sorry. I am on my way to the airport now.” Samudra said.

Although Samudra has not finished all its work, Samudra still left his office. Nothing is more important than Ayunda. "I'll be there tonight, we'll talk about it."

"No." The quiet whisper of Ayunda's voice seemed to shout at him from the silence surrounding him.

The already tense muscles of Ocean's neck and shoulders grew tense, sending pain directly into his skull. “What do you mean no?”

Shaking breaths sounded from miles away and the entire body of the Ocean stiffened, stiffened. All he has in his mind is, don't. Don't do that Ayunda.

"You don't have to come, you don't have to come" Ayunda said.

The ocean pulled over to the side of the road, and punched the steering wheel. His breath was violently pierced through his teeth.

Don't do that!

“You're mad at me? I promise you this will never happen again." For years, he had always let reporters follow him and preach anything about himself with his 'boyfriend' but now he felt he had to stop it. For Ayunda's sake, Samudra will do it.

"Let my lawyer settle the last asset split, and our divorce proceedings. We continue our lives on our own path." said Ayunda firmly.

“Thank you for telling me about Angelia, I'm sorry I'm not interested in your artistry” Ayunda turned off her phone.

The ocean pulled the cell phone cord from his ear and threw it into an empty seat on the side, he drove his car back towards the turn of the road.

Ayunda did not change at all, he never gave the opportunity to Samudra express his opinion.

But the Ocean would feel foolish to let this end the same way, by calling back for pleasantries while vast distances lay between them. Fuck that.
