The Jewel in My Heart

The Jewel in My Heart
Chapter 26

Arthur can read Anna's doubts, he smiles and takes the necklace out of his place. Carefully she placed the necklace around Anna's neck.

"Wait..." Anna tried to prevent Arthur. Being this close to Arthur made his chest feel tight.

"Shhh.. for a second, don't move."

With both of Arthur's arms wrapped around her, Anna felt her head swirling. As much as possible he held his feet to stay standing in his place.

"Look good," Arthur muttered with a satisfied face as the necklace had been attached to Anna's neck.

"Like her, I have to buy you jewelry often."

"Don't!" Anna panicked at Arthur's words.

Both Arthur's eyebrows raised. "Why?"

Anna thought for a moment before starting to say. "That's a waste."

"You remember I told you about Bold?"

"Diamond mine?"

Arthur nodded. "I can give you as many diamonds as I want."

"You're abusing state assets" Anna snorted.

"I'll pay for it, don't worry."

"I don't want you to give me any jewelry, I'd be happier if this were all over and I could get back to normal."

Arthur stared at the marble floor, he could understand if Anna wanted her life back. Everyone who was in the position of that woman must have wanted the same thing.

The problem is that this is not as easy as turning the palm of the hand.

"My people are trying so hard to find evidence of money laundering done by Stamp, but it's not easy."

"He's trying to kill you, you can't put him in jail for that?" ask Anna.

Arthur shook his head. "There's no solid enough evidence."

"I can be a witness."

"I don't want to." Arthur shook his head. "I can't let you get any further involved than this."

"So I can only wait," Anna sighed like a person who was almost desperate.

"Listen, I'm gonna do everything I can to get this done. But if that doesn't work out yet, then I'll take responsibility for your and Nina's lives."

Anna looked up at Arthur's earnest face. "Alright, then you can start taking care of this," Anna said as she picked up a pile of newspapers on the table and gave it to Arthur.

Arthur caught a glimpse of each of the newspapers Anna gave him. His face did not flush out any meaningful changes, he just nodded.

"Where did you get all this?"

"I asked Laura to bring her. Have you seen? the news circulating on the internet is much more terrifying than this. Why do they write stuff like this?"

"Let them," Arthur answered briefly and returned the stack of newspapers to the table.

"What?" anna's eyes widened in wonder. "Why? you're a king, you can stop them."

"For what? even if I clarify this news, there will be other news, so bright."

"But. but..." Anna was confused as to what else to say. He does not like to be made a rumor even though he justifies Arthur's opinion.

"They write as if they have known me for a long time, they also say that Nina is your child, the result of your affair with me, the mistress!"

Arthur smiled. "You angry?"

"You don't think so?" Anna asked with an annoyed face.

"You want me to close these papers?"

"You can do this?" anna asked in surprise.

"May, but these people will lose their jobs and their children will have to stop eating."

"Oh!" Anna covered her mouth with her palm. "Don't do that."

Arthur smiled again. "Then close your eyes and ears."

"Over often."

Anna sat on one of the couches with a gawking face. "God, your life is crazy!"

Arthur carefully observes Anna's room contents, neither does Anna escape his sight.

"Do you need anything?"

"What?" anna asked not to understand.

"Of course, there may be things that escape me, if there is anything you need do not hesitate to ask me. I don't know what a woman needs."

Anna was embarrassed. "No, thank you. This is enough."

Suddenly there was anxiety in Arthur's heart when he saw Anna looking down, he thought Anna was sad.

"You're bored here?"

"It's okay, Arthur. I can handle it, "Anna replied without hesitation.

He did feel a little bored, and really missed Jakarta. But there was no way he could just say that to Arthur, there were enough problems that he had to overcome by the man.

"How about tomorrow you come with me to Bold?"

Anna looked at Arthur. "Can I go there?"

Arthur nodded. "Have you visited a diamond mine before?"

"Not yet."

"I'll show you the heart of Freyster!" arthur's excited. "But of course we can't take Nina, the air there isn't good for toddlers."

Anna looks confused. "What about Nina?"

"He can stay here with Laura."

"Aman?"

Arthur nodded. "Royal Palace is the safest place for Nina. The guard here is very strict, but if you're still worried then I'll put some of my bodyguards around Nina while we're at Bold. How's it?"

"All right, I'm going to Bold."

"Then prepare yourself, I suggest wearing flat shoes and warm enough clothes. Any?"

"I think there is," replied Anna "Mmm... How do you know the size of my shirt?"

"Easy, I've seen you with a towel wrapped around your body, just like you've had a bath. Do you remember my first day at your house? from there I can estimate the size of your clothes" replied Arthur honestly.

Anna stood up immediately. "You! you fainted then."

"I didn't faint, just too sick to wake up."

"You didn't say anything at the time!" Anna was getting angry.

"You angry?" Arthur shook his head in wonder.

"I'm really angry! you're not polite!"

"You go in by yourself, I'm not asking you to do it."

"You need to close your eyes!"

Arthur's face flushed red trying to hold back his laughter, perhaps Anna had forgotten how old Arthur was now.

"No way!"

Anna glared wider. "Why?"

"Well, because there is no cat who closed his eyes when in front of him there is a piece of salmon."

"You!" Anna throws Arthur with a sofa cushion. "Get out of my room! you're a peepsmith!"

Arthur catches the pillow aloud and throws it back on the sofa with a thumping laugh. Here was the limit of Arthur's strength holding back his laughter, the man still chuckled as he walked out of Anna's room and paid no heed to his personal bodyguards who looked puzzled.
