The Jewel in My Heart

The Jewel in My Heart
Chapter 16

Then one by one the facts flashed on Anna's head, everyone in this embassy no one looked at this man with their heads held high.

Also from the way this man gave orders to the middle-aged man earlier, the way this man thanked the woman earlier, the way he interacted and spoke was indeed different. But is he really a king? then why did the king lie alone in the streets?

"How do I know you're not lying?" asked Anna with narrowed eyes.

"I don't have to lie to you"

This time Anna's face was completely pale, so she was going to go with this person? "How long will I stay at your place?"

Arthur thought for a moment, he had to answer appropriately or Anna was going to panic even more. "I don't know for sure, but you won't be safe away from me as long as my enemy hasn't been caught."

Anna's shoulders slumped, she shouldn't have been surprised by a fact like this. Hasn't he been thinking about all the possibilities of Arthur? but of course he did not suspect that he had to leave his house.

"Do you have many enemies?" ask Anna.

Arthur smiled "Not much, but this one is a bit troublesome"

Sure was! you almost died yourself! I think Anna is getting anxious. If a king alone can arrive like that let alone his self that has no power whatsoever.

"If this one's been caught, can I go back to my house?" anna asked with anxiety that could no longer be hidden.

"If all is done, you are free to determine your life" Arthur replied, looking into Anna's eyes with confidence.

Anna thought of Arthur's sentence with a deep frown. "Can you predict how much longer this can be over?"

"Can't"

"If it takes a long time it means I'm going to lose my job" Anna urged.

"No need to worry, I will cover all your living expenses and Nina. You don't have to work anymore" replied Arthur lightly.

"For how long?" the look on Anna's face was now mixed between anxiety and disbelief. As a single parent, Anna takes full responsibility for the continuation of her daughter's life.

"For the rest of it."

Anna's forehead creased back. "You sure?"

"That's not a small amount"

"You doubt my financial ability?"

Anna shook her head "No, as a king, you probably have a lot of treasure. But some people can't stick with the commitments they've made themselves."

"What do you want, right?"

Suddenly came across an idea that Anna thought was quite reasonable. "Let's just say, you don't have to take my life and my daughter's, in exchange for giving me a lot of money so I can change my identity, maybe even a little physical change, and start a business that I can keep alive."

Arthur is surprised by Anna's idea, at first glance it does sound reasonable, and the good thing is he doesn't have to bother protecting Anna and Nina, he can focus more on facing his enemies. And as much as anything Anna Arthur asks is sure she can fulfill it.

Arthur's gaze turned to Nina, the toddler was watching the soup spoon in his hand seriously. His face looks so funny when his forehead is wrinkled and his lips are pouting.

Can Arthur let them go while the possibility of danger is still there? Arthur could have arranged for Anna to be nowhere to be found, but no one could guarantee that she would succeed one hundred percent. The possibility of failure remains, Arthur owes them his life.

"How much money do you need?" arthur asked before asking a servant to call one of his staff.

A bespectacled young man came and recorded the amount Anna requested, the man recounted the number he welcomed with Anna's nod.

Then the man left after Arthur asked him to transfer to the account number Anna gave him.

Arthur had breakfast quietly though his eyes occasionally glanced at Nina. There was a warm feeling when Nina laughed playing a soup spoon and a napkin.

Being a pretty decent toddler too, Arthur thought, no need to worry about what will happen, receiving a lot of affection and being loved by many people.

Arthur had forgotten when he was a toddler. But the childhood he remembered wasn't too bad, except for the part spent all the time in military school.

Arthur's father was a hard man, he placed great hopes on Arthur, his only son. Tugsa Arthur will be very heavy when taking over the throne later.

That's why his father put Arthur into military school, from the age of eight years to nineteen years.

But little Arthur kept it going. As the heir to the throne, he had already assumed great responsibility from birth.

And like it or not, little Arthur learned to accept her without much complaining. As her mother taught her.
