Is There Love

Is There Love
Saung Angklung Udjo and Warung Daweung

The Part 26

“Hai.” Gavin waved his hand with a smile.

“Hai,” reply me while forcing my lips to smile.

“You have time?” ask Gavin suddenly.

“E, leisure. I mean, I'm not busy,” I replied rather nervously.

“That means, you have free time right?” I'm nodding.

“Let's go out. I want to keep my promise,” take him.

“Appointments? What promise? Feelings no,” I thought.

“I want to take you to eat. Can right? I want to keep my promise to invite you to eat after graduation announcement.” After hearing Gavin's explanation, I understood now.

“Can.” I nodded slowly.

“I will wait for you to get ready,”.

“Iya. I'll be right back,” I said then rushed to the room to get ready. When I got ready, I went down to see Gavin.

“Already?” ask brother Gavin. I nodded steadily while smiling.

It's getting late, but Gavin's brother is still walking down the street. I don't know where he'll take me, presumably a distant location. The road is uphill like a hill. Since we got in the car, there was no communication between us.

“Em .. about this afternoon .. I'm sorry.” Gavin opened the conversation. I was a little surprised to hear Gavin's words just now. He still remembers.

“It's okay. I understand,” my mouth.

“I, completely unconscious that time. Looking at you, it's like seeing Chessy. Maybe because, lately I've been thinking about it a lot.” I can understand what Gavin's brother explained, it's like what happens to me if I think of Kenzhi.

“Honestly, I'm the same. I often hallucinate, and sometimes think of others as Kenzhi,”. I sighed for a moment, then smiled at Brother Gavin.

“We will definitely find them.” Unknowingly, my right hand held the left hand of Gavin's driving. Brother Gavin was silent for a moment, then smiled at me while nodding.

Not long after, we found a tourist destination called Saung Angklung Udjo. Gavin drove his car into the Saung Angklung Udjo area, then stopped his car in the parking area.

“Yuk down,” take him while removing his seat belt.

“Em.” I nodded and removed my seat belt. I'm still a little confused as to why Gavin invited me here. He said he wanted to take me to eat.

“What is this place?” my question does not understand.

“Ha?” Gavin looked confused at my question.

“You don't know?” I'm shaking. Brother Gavin sighed then smiled at me who was still confused.

“This is Saung Angklung Udjo. One of the popular tourist destinations in Bandung. Here is the center of preservation and performance of traditional culture in Bandung.” Gavin gave an explanation.

“Ooh. I turned out to be old-fashioned. Bandung people, but do not know about this,” sahutku shy.

“If you don't know, I'll tell.” Gavin smiled at me.

“Saung Angklung Udjo was built in 1966 by Udjo Ngalagena or also known as Mang Udjo along with his wife, Uum Sumiyati with the aim of preserving Sundanese traditional arts and culture.

Udjo Ngalagena is an angklung artist from West Java. Born on March 5, 1929. Udjo Ngalagena is the sixth child of Wiranta and Imi. Udjo Ngalagena has known angklung art with familiar since the age of 4 years, so do not be surprised if Udjo Ngalagena loved this art so much that he finally founded Saung Angklung Udjo.” I listened intently to Gavin's explanation as we walked towards the ticketing location.

“In the meantime, I pay the ticket first.” Mr. Gavin dismissed his explanation after we arrived at the ticketing point. After paying, we walked around looking around.

“In addition to angklung, Udjo Ngalagena also studied traditional martial arts, namely pencak silat, gamelan, lute, and also songs in Indonesian and Dutch. Therefore, Saung Angklung Udjo not only presents angklung performances, but also various kinds of West Java arts.

After the death of Udjo Ngalagena on May 03, 2001, Saung Angklung Udjo continued to be succeeded by the sons of Udjo Ngalagena. So that Saung Angklung Udjo remains crowded with visitors who want to see the beauty of traditional art in the region.” Hearing Gavin's explanation I became more and more understanding. On the one hand, there is a real shame because I as a Bandung citizen do not know if there are educational tourist destinations.

“It turns out, brother Gavin is also good at history.” I impounded.

“Kakak turned out to know a lot of history Saung Angklung Udjo. I was so embarrassed, stayed in Bandung long ago, but did not know there was a place like this.” I smiled a little towards Brother Gavin.

“Not much, that's all I know. In the past, when I was a kid, I used to come here with my mom and dad on school holidays. After my mother died, I never came here again. It turns out not much has changed, it still continues to be crowded visitors.” Gavin smiled at me.

“Em ...” I was half-thinking. Highlight my eyes watching around, a lot of performances such as Demonstration Puppet Golek, Hallaran, Mask Dance, Angklung Orchestra and some other performances.

“Because here the name is Saung Angklung Udjo, what if we watch Angklung Orchestra.” I looked at Brother Gavin for an opinion.

“Ok. Options that ... are not too bad,” he replied.

“Not too bad?” Nadaku slightly raised after hearing Gavin's words.

“I'm just kidding. Why is your tone rising?” I was silent for a moment, Brother Gavin was the same. We looked at each other, and a few seconds later we laughed together.

“Let's watch,” take her, and I nod. Brother Gavin held my arm as he walked forward to the crowd of spectators.

Cheers and applause enlivened the atmosphere of the show. I also really enjoyed this show, I happened to have not seen a show like this for a very long time. I don't even feel like I've been standing here long enough. Suddenly I felt a pull on my hand. When I turned my head, it was Gavin's brother who pulled my hand. He then took me around to see many other shows. He also invited me to see the angklung production center. I know more and more about this Saung Angklung Udjo. It turned out to be very fun to be here, because we can also learn more about traditional arts, especially those concerning Angklung.

After enjoying the tour Saung Angklung Udjo, brother Gavin took me away from here. I don't know where he's taking me again. We passed through the steep road that ran uphill. In fact, the roads are not all asphalt but rocky, and some are ground.

“Where are we going Kak?” I finally asked a question after a long silence.

“Later you also know, soon also until.” Gavin smiled at me. Gavin's smile left a sense of suspicion and curiosity.

“Ya, alright.” I nodded in a sign of understanding.

After passing through the rocky path, we arrived at a place like a tourist destination. Many parked vehicles lined up, many visitors, plus a stall located at the location that sells a variety of food and drinks.

Brother Gavin parked the car, then took me out of the car. I was still a bit confused after getting out of the car. But the confusion was sidetracked when received a beautiful view of the hills.

“We will eat here,” said brother Gavin while smiling at me.

“Here?” I just don't believe it.

“Em.” Brother Gavin nodded.

“This is called Warung Daweung. You must be confused huh, up here?” I'm nodding.

Kak Gavin sighed, “This is the only stall that is on the highest peak in Bandung. We can eat while enjoying the view of the city of Bandung from above here.”

“Oh yes, wait a minute.” Gavin went back to his car and got something. My eyes keep watching him.

“Wear this, later you get cold.” Brother Gavin thrusts a man's jacket at me.

“It's okay, not a woman's jacket? You also do not carry a jacket.” I was silent for a moment, I looked at a pair of Gavin's eyeballs who were now looking at me seriously.

“Em. Thanks.” I smiled at Gavin's brother as I received his jacket.

“Ayo,” take her.

“Iya,” sahutku brief.

“You sit there first, I'll be back in a minute.” Brother Gavin pointed towards the chairs and tables made of stone that were near the cliff.

“Em.” I nodded then rushed off towards the place that Brother Gavin had pointed out.

“Wah,” murmured me when I saw the beautiful view of Bandung. On the right and left are green hills. I sat on a chair facing towards the cliff, it felt so close to the afternoon sky that it showed a bright hue of light. I took advantage of this moment to take pictures. I also shared my style with a different background. There are facing the cliff, there are facing stalls, and others again.

“Do you like this place?” asked Gavin, who was suddenly sitting next to me. On the table facing him were two cups of Pop Noodles that had been brewed, and two packs of tea boxes.

“Lumayan. If it's for refreshing, I think it fits. The atmosphere is beautiful,” I replied.

“This, eat first.” Brother Gavin thrust a cup of Pop Noodles at me.

“Thanks.” I took it while smiling at Brother Gavin.

“Food here is simple, but it will be more delicious because we eat with a different atmosphere. We eat in the highest location in the city of Bandung, even we can also see the Bandung area from above here.” I was blowing on the noodles that were still a little hot, smiling little to hear Gavin's words.

“Ya, even if it's just Pop Noodles and tea boxes, fine. This ... not too bad.” I emphasized my words in the last three words while smiling mockingly. Brother Gavin was silent for a moment to hear my words, after which he laughed instead.

“Wah, is this a reply from what I said earlier when I was in Saung Angklung Udjo?” Brother Gavin looked seriously at me.

“According to Sister?” I looked back seriously. Gavin's sister fell silent, we were now looking at each other with serious eyes, and a few seconds later we let off laughter.
