CHAPTER 2 - FAMILY CONSIDERATIONS

The sun had gone down, Erika had been sitting in the back garden since she had finished cleaning herself earlier. He thought and kept thinking about what he should do. It feels like all the contents of the head are no longer able to find a way out other than surrender.

"ka, Ika.", mama called from the direction of the inner room. Erika also woke up from her daydream. He immediately got out of his seat and approached his mother. "yes, what's wrong?"

"papa is still not feeling well, we should talk about the three of these problems, mama, you and Elisha. Who knows if we can come up with a solution, even if it's not the solution that solves everything."

"yes ma, let's talk about this after dinner. I'll call lisa first ma." Erika went up the stairs and approached Elisha's room. They had dinner together without saying much. Each has a very strange problem.

After the meal, Bi Inah, their housekeeper, tidied the table. He knew the family was in big trouble. He doesn't want to mix it up. Bi Inah is a domestic assistant who has been working since Erika's father and mother got married.

Oiya, Erika's father named Edo Kun, an Indonesian man who has mixed Japanese-Indonesian blood. Erika's mother was Widyaningsih. Erika Gracie, the eldest child of the Edo Kun family, aged 19, is studying semester 4 in the Department of Architecture. Elisha Kirana, the youngest child of the Edo Kun family, aged 17, was in her final year of High School.

They sat three in the family room. Widya's mother, Erika and Elisha. They had been sitting together for 15 minutes, but no one had started the conversation yet. Each of them did not know where to start, as this was completely beyond their expectations. Deceived business associates, debts to banks, houses and cars that will soon be confiscated, property companies that are currently being somewhat slumped due to economic recession, employees of companies that they have to pay, etc, and their father is less healthy.

So many problems that come together, and it feels directly hit them to the bottom.It makes them feel unable to speak.

Erika was unable to move her lips to speak, she only bit her lower lip as she was confused where to start. "Ma, what should we do?" Elisha started the conversation with a sad tone. Widya's mother just kept quiet and shed tears. Her heart was broken, not because of problems coming in many years, but more because of the circumstances of her husband who was not healthy.

Widya's mother was a motherly woman, who rarely met with socialite women. She prefers to be in the kitchen, cook for her husband and sit and listen to her children tell her about their daily lives.

"For the company, mama's not sure if this is the best way. Last month, there was a businessman who wanted to buy papa company. Maybe we can offer the company to him, so we can save the company's employees."

[FLASHBACK ON]

"Jiang Pak Edo, this is Mr. Suryadiningrat, the owner of Mega Jaya Property. He's planning to buy Mr. Edo's property company."

"Sorry sir before. But I don't sell this company. If you want to work together, I can consider."

"Pak Edo, Mr. Surya does not intend to cooperate, he is here just to buy your company. He will pay whatever your request."

"Once again I apologize. This company is not for sale. Please look for another company."

Mr. Surya and his assistant left Mr. Edo's room. Mr. Surya whispered to his assistant, "You know what you have to do." "Okay sir, get it."
